Does an Eidolon count as a Unique Being for the purposes of the Gate Spell?

Specifically, could a summoner's Eidolon refuse the call of a Gate Spell as a Unique Being if someone other than the summoner where to Gate it?

What we need:
1 or 2 more laid back gamers to join our ongoing pathfinder game.

Where:
Montclair area of New Jersey.

When:
A couple of times a month on Weekend nights. We all work, so sometimes scheduling gets difficult.

What:
We're playing a Pathfinder game set on earth in the US during the 1820s. Currently we're 5th level and we have:
A Wizard, an Inquisitor, and a Fighter.
