Now you are a ranged damage and close combat dealer. In close combat you now have +11 Hit and do 1d6+8 base damage +1d4 acid damage. And I think that you will have AC25. I think with whip infusion you can even keep a shield inside of you. It just means that you won’t be able to get AOOs. I think this keeps the Bob feel while upping his damage potential and defenses

Because our party comp was Gorthug DPS and everyone else utility/crowd control. And sadly my DPS did not include any tanking. That and undead die at 0HP so no healing was possible

Well, don’t die. Retreat if you have to. You have the tools for that. Also I finally got my replacement character ready who can fill in for Gorthug’s role. Similar damage, much more durable. The party is an odd one. LOTS of utility power but very little DPS

Ah. Well, still a good feat. But I suppose if that is what you want then two handed fighter is better. At 3rd level, when a two-handed fighter makes a single attack (with the attack action or a charge) with a two-handed weapon, he adds double his Strength bonus on damage rolls.

Pain. It was the body’s way of telling someone that it was damaged. It communicated one’s limitations. Gorthug didn’t feel pain. If he did, he would have know just how damaged his leg was. If he felt pain, he wouldn’t have been so surprised when he stumbled. If he did, he would have felt the bite of the blade as it came down. He always knew that he wouldn’t have a peaceful end. That wasn’t the way of his people. But he had thought that when he died it would be painful. There was much about his death that he hadn’t anticipated. He looked up in time to see his end. His real end. He had only just got this mind back. His memories. His thoughts. His feelings. And he used all of that to thank Gorum that his true end was in battle. As it should be. And then...there was no more. What hit the ground wasn’t Gorthug. It was just an empty husk. He was gone.

Kinda worried though. Shadows can be OP. Immune to mundane attacks, can walk through walls, STR drain...it might all be too much. And the party is lacking a front line. Just need to think...

Yup. He’s dead, Jim. I’m thinking for a replacement to have a Shadow crawl out of Gorthug’s body. The idea being that a Shadow was bound to the corpse of the orc and anchored the soul to it. So when the body was destroyed, Gorthug’s soul would be freed, and so too wound the shadow. Specifically a Vanishing Shadow, which is CR4.

One upside of being dead was not feeling pain. The blow that struck Gorthug would have killed most mortal men outright, and sent the vast majority of the remnant immediately going into shock. He responded by attacking back, as if though nothing had happened.

I’ll still try to abide by it. Right now I fill the party roll of straight dps melee. Too many class levels would make Gorthug into a PC. Enforcing templates makes the choices harder, but more fitting.

There is a very good chance that Gorthug is going to die here. And I’m ok with that. He got his mind back and has an afterlife he is looking forward to. Now, I don’t want him to die, but at the same the worst thing is pulling punches. *Starts looking at CR4 monsters*

Gorthug turned to Bob and snarled ”Whining is for the weak. It is elf-talk.” He didn’t know what Bob was, and knew that this was not normal for it. With his mind clear for the first time since death, Gorthug took stock of his situation. He remembered dying, being cursed, and then there were broken memories, which became clearer and clearer up until the present. Of rolling years standing guard in a lightless hell. Of murdering wandering adventurers. Of the mistress’ demise and the possession of her son. He remembered killing a dragon. He remembered Goldslip, and her calming presence. But of each comrade, with the exception of her, all he knew were fragments. He remembered Cindy talking of bears, of Piedmontia leading a thieving mission...images of Snowball’s and Bob’s antics...it was a strange assortment of monsters, to be sure. He looked down at the cowering elemental, and then at the enslaved human being temporarily released. And in that moment he made a decision. Every orc needed a clan. And this was his clan. While he didn’t know, yet, what everyone’s place was, it was still good to have a place to belong. He just really wished he remembered *why* they were on the mountain, fighting elementals and trudging through snow. There was probably a good reason for it. But with this group, probably was the key word.
