Gelatinous orbs have the uncanny ability to jump up and land on a Medium-sized or smaller creature’s head, completely engulfing it as a standard action. It cannot make a slam attack during a round in which it engulfs. Opponents can either make an attack of opportunity against the ooze, or a saving throw versus the attack, but not both. If the target forgoes the opportunity attack, it may instead make a DC 13 Reflex save to avoid having its head engulfed. The elemental's shout stops Gustav in his tracks, and he needs a moment to collect his thoughts in this surprisingly loud mountain pass. "Everyone is singing, or shouting, or whatever it is that thing is doing," he points at Bob I just want some peace and quiet, and to go back home where it's warm. A tear starts to run down his face, but gets frozen on his cheek.

Tina flies over to Snowball, and taps her on the shoulder, and shows off the dance moves that go along with her continuing song, (which have now added hip pops in addition to the elbow thrusts).

I seem to be completely out of SLAs that can actually affect these critters, and I believe I've Intimidate/Feared all of them at least once, so I really have nothing left :(

Cindy, keeping an eye on the panicked elemental so that she can yell at it again if it starts to return, heads towards Goldslip to see if she can help her up the hill.

Goldslip, is your current map location correct? I double moved to you so I can start doing aid another on your climb checks but I thought that you were farther up after Tina's SLA

We need somebody to get Goldslip a little crossbow or something. Maybe Cindy too. In general, this party is light on ranged damage. It's pretty much just Bob's rocks and Tina's summons.

The elemental strikes at Snowball as she flies into his face but misses.

So it provokes every time you bite? Yeesh.

The elemental then steps back, keeping its footing with perfect ease on the slippery snow, and launches a piece of ice at Snowball but she twists out of the way in mid-air. Bob flings himself on an elemental and lands the acrobatic attack! This elemental won't be hurting anybody for a while...

Cindy, will you track your fear duration and tell me when the yellow elemental up top is no longer panicked?

Annoyed, the musical elemental just flings some ice at Gustav and strikes him hard (7 damage to Gustav from a mix of piercing and cold).

A crossbow for Goldslip might not be that useful with only a 30' sight range. She's our melee monster!

Cindy glances over at the running elemental (2nd round of 5, 3 to go) then floats in behind Goldslip and tries to brace herself against the nixie's back, pushing as hard as she can with her little arms. "Come on big sis! You can do it!"

It's not the bite that triggers AoOs (the bite has 5' reach), it's the constantly moving into opponent's squares so that I can use claws :3
Well, also that one time I used flyby attack while moving through multiple threatened squares...
Which reminds me, that charge was one of the few times Snowball didn't provoke, haha
But she's about to enter the enemy's square now that she can't charge, so it's fine :P

Snowball scrambles after the carefully retreating ice-man, all but heedless of the openings she's creating by doing so.

Finally in reach of the elemental, Gorthug raised his axe and swung it with actual skill. It landed with a crunch, and the undead orc let loose a raspy sigh of satisfaction. Few things could spark any emotion in him, but violence was one of them.

I do have a crossbow (it was in the nixie statblock)--as Cindy said, it's the 30ft of vision that's impeding me here. That's less of a big deal when I don't have a problem moving closer to the enemy, but I just can't make that happen in this terrain.

I really am just going to stand still, now, rather than keep rolling those failed checks and losing ground.

I'm going to bot Tina creatively here, then. Normally I would bot players a little dumber than they normally play to encourage them to post themselves but Tina gave us a heads up and this would only punish Goldslip, not Tina. XD

Tina snaps her fingers and Goldslip disappears, reappearing higher up the cliff!

Cindy falls forward as Goldslip disappears, amazed and wondering if she had some new power that she wasn't aware of. Fortunately since she was still flying she managed to avoid going face first into the snow. She spends the remainder of her turn staring at her own hands in fascination.

Oh haha. Sorry Cindy. Didn't mean to mess with you. But that, too, seems like something Tina would do.

Goldslip attack: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 5 - 4 = 2

Goldslip is very surprised when Tina moves her again. She draws her crossbow and levels it at the nearby elemental but the shot goes wild and the bolt bounces off the stone cliff behind the elemental. Bob oozes acid on one elemental then slams a rock into it. Gorthug comes up and smashes it with his ax. Snowball manages a nice, crunchy bite of elemental for herself.

The elemental that was afraid of Cindy finally stops cowering. The elemental attacked by Snowball steps back and launches a shard of ice but misses. The musical elemental launches a shard at Bob and hits him (10 piercing and 1 cold). The monsters are making their way farther and farther up this difficult pass!

Gorthug raised his axe to strike again, but then stopped, frozen in place. A memory hit him. An actual memory, and not the faint echoes that haunted him. The way he held the axe above his head. His grip on the handle. He remembered learning it from his father, so many years ago. He remembered his father! He could picture the old orc’s weathered face, and the harsh sound of his voice. He even remembered the name.

It was such a shock that Gorthug didn’t even attack. Instead he stood there in shock, his balefire eyes fixed ahead.

As Snowball moves forward, the elemental strikes her (6 bludgeoning damage before DR and some cold damage that doesn't matter). Then she bites hard into the elemental, making a big impression with her claws as well. Bob takes a big chunk out of the musical elemental higher up the cliff as the monsters continue making progress. The elemental fighting Snowball steps back and strikes her (6 more dam) while the one no longer afraid of Cindy flings a chunk of ice at Goldslip (9 damage). The musical elemental steps closer to Bob and screams to get revenge on the orb (6 sonic damage and dazed for 1 round, DC 14 fort negates daze and halves damage)!

I remember RAW mounts can't fly with a heavier load, but maybe that's just related to being a mount xD

Hearing the ranged one sputtering some nonsense, Cindy starts to float towards him. As she passes by the other two she rages at them "Your boss thing is going to burn; burn and melt into pieces for NOT BEING NICE! If you get out of our way we might let you live, we could still be friends...but he is DONE!"

Tina teleports Gorthug to the top of the cliff and he tears the head off the elemental with his axe!

Cindy, finally noticing that one of the creatures listened to her and stopped fighting, floats towards it speaking in a calm, soothing, little girl voice.

"That's a good...thing. Thank you for listening, now we can be friends and have tea parties and play dress up and have fun!"

she doesn't really understand the concept of fear, so she thinks he's just being a good boy by not attacking. If she actually gets within reach of him she's probably going to shadow walk with him to go play...and "hopefully" not lose him on the shadow plane before she returns :)

The receptiveness of her song, is showing, as well as the limit of her dance moves, but nonetheless she continues, and somehow the rest of the group take comfort and finds inspiration in what is becoming a mantra We like to party. We like, We like to party.

Snowball, I always forget. Does your bite have 5 ft reach? If so, then yes you get an aoo.

Snowball finishes off the elemental near her and the monsters prepare to finish off the last, cowering elemental.

Now in range again, Bob gathers power and telepathically uses the strands of aether that only he can see to pick and throw big ice chunks at the elemental.

Not understanding that the elemental is scared, Cindy moves in and tries to give his head a big hug, while chatting away. "That's such a good ice thingy. I'm soooo glad you decided to be my friend. Do you want to come with us? We're headed up the mountain to see one of the Pied lady's old acquaintances or something...I'm not completely sure what we're doing but it's going to be FUN"

I'm assuming that I can use the hug and chatter as an aid another to someone else's attack, as it would be quite distracting. Additionally, I guess I'm providing flanking :D
