Gina hugs Sister Azmaria again.
"Okay. Don't let the little monsters get you!"

Gina nods at Sister Azmaria with wide eyes, until she gets to her final instruction, at which her little nose scrunches up. "But I don't like vegetables."
As she lifts her hand to knock, the door flies open and Gina wraps Sister Azmaria in a fierce hug. "Hi!"
Gina hugs Arabeth in return. "Good-bye, Pretty Lady! Thank you!"
Gina nods at Sister Azmaria through her tears. "Thank you. You are good. I will miss you. I want to see you again someday and learn to fight monsters!"
"Uncle Max!" The small girl charges across the front yard, flings herself into the man's arms, and starts sobbing uncontrollably.
Gina suddenly wraps the woman with the fiery hair in a fierce hug. "I will!"
"Oh, um, thank you."
"I don't know where my Uncle Max lives, though. I only visited him here in the big city once. Most years, he came to see us."
"My Uncle Max is a carpenter! He could fix it!"
"Everybody's dead! The little monsters killed them!"
"Are you guys really angel-people?"
The young girl looks disappointed. "Oh. Okay."
As you walk together, a small voice speaks up... "Wait. Where'd Vincent go?"
"That's me. We need to find my Uncle Max. He's a carpenter."
Previously on the road, Gina and Sister Az: "Hmm..." Gina nods, and rides along, considering Sister Azmaria's words in silence, but seemingly grateful for the company.
Gina rides on the cart bench and responds to Sister Azmaria... "What kind of training? What would I do?"
"What's wrong?"
"Um... far away?"
In response to Natanja's questions about the fancy man, Gina pulls out of her thoughts, and refocuses to answer... "Sure. He came every year to visit his sister, I think. He's somebody important from somewhere really far away. Mommy and Daddy told me to make sure I always call him Sir. Some people even called him Lord, but he only laughed and told them not to bother about that. He had really nice clothes. I liked to rub his vest cuz it was so soft. When I said I liked his ring, he told me how the bird picture was for his family name. He was Sir Hawk-Thorn, I think. His knife had the same blue shiny stones as his ring. They were really pretty."
In response to Sister Azmaria's questions about the festival, Gina perks up... "Well, the Summer Festival is a really big deal here. Everybody makes stuff for months and we decorate everything and bake all sorts of stuff and then we get all pretty and nobody works for like a week and there are games and races and contests and we finally get to eat all the stuff we made and play with the new toys. Everybody goes. It's mostly right on the village green. The mayor makes some boring speeches about stuff, but people are really happy anyway, and it's neat to see the visitors. We don't get many visitors here, but we usually have a few for the summer festival, like the fancy man who wore that shiny bird ring..." Gina trails off, hesitating, the mention of the ring seeming to have brought her back to the realization that everyone is gone.
Gina turns to Sister Azmaria with wide eyes. "Um... well, it was the Summer Festival, so everyone was playing and having fun...even the mommys and daddys. People said a lot of stuff. Gina nods. You're not sure what exactly the nod is in response to, but then she does tentatively reach out to tap a single finger on Natanja's hair, then stroke it softly. "It's pretty."
"No."
Natanja: Gina seems wary of your hair, and yet she seems to find it/you beautiful. The wariness probably comes from her fire dream (aka what happened to her village.)
Also, everything here still smells like smoke. She probably hasn't noticed that you're any different from the others in that regard.
Gina wipes her nose and tears on Sister Azmaria's dress and remains holding onto her, but turns slightly to consider Natanja's questions. She focuses on Natanja's hair as she considers... "Um....I dunno. Maybe. Why is your hair like fire?"
Natanja:
It will likely continue to be warm and dry for the next 24 hrs. "I'm feeling sad."
Gina steps forward, tears rolling down her cheeks... "Goodbye, mommy and daddy and everyone. I miss you and I hope maybe you can come back some day, and I'm going to be good and fight evil!" ... the last part is barely a squeak, as she steps back and buries her face in Sister Azmaria's dress.
"What's Shi-my?"
"Oh. I never had a sister, though.
Gina smiles proudly.
Gina smiles slightly at Kiwyn, but proclaims, "My name is Gina, not Imodo."
Gina wanders through the ruins with Sister Azmaria and Arabeth, occasionally picking up an item or trinket and saying whose it was. At her own house (from which the corpses have already been collected), she manages to find a few small items to claim of her own or her parents. At one points she wonders out loud, looking from Azmaria to Arabeth to the others searching nearby... "So, where did you all come from? Why did you come here? Do you all fight evil?"
The gun scare is explained to anyone (like Shyness) who comes running, and people generally return to their tasks, relieved that no one is hurt and no new threat has arrived. From the sidelines, Gina sits chatting with Sister Azmaria and watches those searching.
DC 15 Sense Motive:
Gina seems to be particularly fascinated with Vincent. She seems to think he's really cute. She might be developing something of a little crush. After a while, Gina suggests to Azmaria,
Gina heads over to near where Vincent is collecting tools and trinkets from the rubble, and begins to do the same. Vincent:
The young girl seems to be looking at you a lot, but whenever you look at her, she just smiles and looks away. Once Gina gets close to the actual charred bodies, however, she freezes and stares, horrified, but curious... shocked, but mesmerized. "Oh. Those ... those were the people here, and they got burned up in the fire?"
When offered the feather and the hair-braiding, Gina would smile at Arabeth, and accept. "You're very pretty. Thank you."
Gina brightens. "Okay!" She sits quietly beside Sister Azmaria, contemplating her new calling in life.
Gina's eyes go wide again, this time with amazement and admiration. "Really? Wow. I want to be brave, like you.
"Did I break it?"
Gina reaches slowly for the gun... "...a holy gun to fight evil? Do you fight little monsters? There were little monsters here..." Gina hesitates for a moment and bites her lip, a slight glistening in her eyes. Then, she speaks in a determined, if shaking, voice, while grabbing suddenly for the gun... "I want to fight evil!"
The pistol discharges scripture.
"I'm sorry! What did I do?" Her apologetic eyes search yours.
The girl notices Sister Azmaria and actually smiles slightly, breaking out of her daze a bit. She walks over and says, "Hi, I'm Gina. I like your pretty dress." She notices Azmaria's pistol and looks at it curiously. "What does your fancy toy do?"
When the girl finally wakes up , she sits up slowly, accepts food and water from whoever has most recently been tending her, and wanders out toward the burned village as if in a daze. She stands, nodding slowly at the sight of the wreckage, as if confirming that what she saw last night wasn't a dream. She bites her lip, hard, and wanders around the edges of the village.
The girl, bundled in the blanket, actually falls asleep in Natanja's arms. Natanja carries her to the logging camp to rest with the others for the night.
The girl just nods.
The girl half-nods at Shyness's words, and at Natanja's words, still gazing off toward the ruins. Cernan:
You do not detect any magic on the girl. It seems like she's being honest and is genuinely in shock over all this. Some actual sleep might do her good. EDIT:
Natanja: With your high previous heal checks, you would realize that the girl may very well be in shock, and that some actual sleep might do her some good after days of unconsciousness...
"Hmmm...." Gina seems to be thinking hard... "Gina's Mommy?" ...she offers, trying to be helpful. "Wait... Missez Gelthis. An' Mistur Gelthis. We're the Gelthis family!" She brightens briefly upon saying this, then her face becomes expressionless, and she stares off toward the former-village, her eyes starting to fill with the first signs of tears...
Gina gobbles up whatever berries Shyness offers. "Thanks. I always like eating lots of these." She turns to look at Oko. "Your bird is on fire. Is it okay?" Then, she notices Rex and her shoulders stiffen. "That is a wolf. Will it eat us?" EDIT:
"Oh! Mommy and Daddy."
"Uncle Max lives a long way away in the big city. The big city is called Viligant. I went there to see him once. Sometimes he comes here to see us."
"You mean like Uncle Max?"
"They are gone... like the town?"
"I dreamed that four little monsters hurt mommy and daddy. They were ugly and smelly and they laughed and were gone like poof! I... I don't think they saw me. But mommy and daddy wouldn't wake up and they were hurt... And I wanted the nightmare to be over so I crawled back under the bed and went back to sleep."
Gina nods slowly, taking this in... "The fire nightmare. It was real." She hesitates, then asks... "Was... was the little monster nightmare real, too?"
