Excuse me for sounding thick but....

The disjuncture would effect all spells in the area wheather or not they were cast on an object/creature/air space?

When used against undead do the undead count as object and the thus entitled to a will save before it effects spells on it? (or will save just counts for items in its possession?)

Undead immune to spells requiring fortitude saves so does that make them immune to disintigrate spells?

Thanks

Thick Tony

Thats the opinion we were reaching duringthe last session, that it is only active for the first attack of the round only, rather than for the entire round, which theoreticaly could inclue attacks of opportunity as well.

Background.
Age of Worms campaign
The party has just completed the Kings of the Rift module.

The noticed that the King used a feat that allowed him to use a melee attack that bypassed natural armour making his melee attacks against a touch armour class.

During their down time they have reseached the Spell 'Wraithstrike' (Spell compendium p234) wiz lvl2 comp VS Cast 1 swift Range personal Target self duration 1 round

They want to put this onto an item Bracers/gauntlets/ring and for game balance give it 3 uses daily (description While the spell is in effect your melee attacks are resolved as melee touch attacks rather than nrmal melee attacks.) Would consider single use

Considering that they have been fighting dragons who's AC seems to be mainly natural this would greatly reduce their AC.

Questions:
Would the creation/use of the this item be game unbalancing?

What would be the cost?
spell lvl x caster lvl x 25 + (total x 5/3)x3)
ie 2x5x25 = 250 + ((250x1.6)x3){1200} making it approx 1500gp seems a bit cheap would have thought more of the reagion of 4000.

Further information
I am actualy a play in this game and as the current DM has banned the item his decision shall be honoured. However as I will be running the Savage Tide Adventure Path as soon as this one finishes I would mor ethan welcome your opinions before I have to ban it from STAP for the sake of continuity/upsetting previous DM etc

Thanks for you imput

Tony

Tried to post three times now......but so far no joy lets try again

Couple of things.

Thanks to all that have contributed it has helped me come to a descision with regards to this PC, He will be allowed to take the exalted monk with him and informed that it could become an unplayable character later in the adveture with a GREAT risk of it loosing its exalted status, if he then decides to take this character class there are to be no gripes, moans, winges etc when/if the exalted status is lost forever, either that or the character does not start!!

Seondly Bodrin being in on the discussion. I have no problems with this at all. In the group we have three main DMs each taking it in turn to run a module(s). Due to the size of the group (ranges from 4-10 players ages 11- 47) it can be advantageous to have others check dice rolls, remember actions in progress, bounce ideas off, especially if we get to a point where the rules can become a little vague or a decsicion has to be made that could be called biased against a party member, but if someone else, respected by the group as unbiased, agrees thenthe results tend to go as dictated. We trust each other that all ideas discussed out of game, are left out of game not brought in as character knowledge unless asked to do so.

One of the players that I will be taking through this module has decide that he wishes to take a Lawful Good Exalted Monk.

While we usually have an open policy on Classes and feats, so long as each individual DM approves them for his campaign. I would like to at least let this character start the champaign, could be interesting since I am taking alignment restrictions from both Exalted deads and Vile Darkness reference book (If he is using stuff from non core books so am I)

Spoiler:

Exalted deeds that must be performed
Helping others, Charity, Healing the sick, personnal sacrifice, Mercy, forgiveness and the worship of good aligned gods. (all from the book of Exalted deeds)

Evil Acts (all from Vile Darkness)
Lying,Cheating, Theft, Betrayal, murder, aninating dead, vengeance and more importantly consorting with fiends!!

In the early stages of the AP this should not be a problem, and will definitely cause some fun in the party, but how to run it in the second half of the AP?

Any help please, I dont want to say tou cant bring it from the outset but....

A small (!!) question arose the other night in a game session.

When a grapple is in progress can you actualy attack one of hte characters involved with no miss penalty (ie hit the other).

In the grapple your AC is already reduced.
When firing missile weapons into the grapple you take -4 to hit and 50% hit wrong target (if 2 grappling)unless you take one of the feats (cant remember its name at the moment).

How does this work for attacking with melee weapons? Did look in hte players but could not find a reference to attacking into a grapple only joining a grapple.

If no penalty is involved then the scenario grapple the opponent and then theif attacks him (at AC- dex) does sneak attack damage bonus becomes a real problem

Any help appreciated

Tony

Thanks guys, I personnaly would have gone with the reflex yes, dex no option

Could some one help with a little 'discussion' we are currently having around the table.

Scenario: PC = stunned and blind (from colur spray)
Evil wizard casts Lightning bolt into the whre pc stands.
Questions are:
1 Does Pc get a reflex save as per the spell?
2 if the answere to 1 is yes would he get his dex bonus on the save?

I believe that because he is stunned/blind he would be entitled to a reflex save but no dex modifyer.

However players wquoting rules say that dex modifier is only taken of AC when either stunned or blind..
