"Brother, what were you thinking? About the gnomes that is. My own solution involves gagging Marshal Kenver and Grand Diplomat *snickers* Geoffrey whenever we meet anyone, but I doubt you openly approve of that. You do realize that between the two of them, they've effectively gave the gnomes almost every piece of information required to siege the kobolds?

*sarcasm* I could've just given them our map as well."

"As 'Grand Diplomat' (if that is what you choose to call me) it is certainly within my pervue to fill in the blanks of foreign policy. You are the 'eyes and ears' of the Kingdom. I am, for better or for worse, its mouth."

*mumbling to himself he adds,*
"....and yes, dear Brother, if that's what's required to get this little party started, the Gnomes will have their map."

OoC: I love the maps! Nice job.

Dear Diary:

It seems that I am to be blamed for my brilliant plan's nearly falling apart. It should come as no surprise I suppose. Apparently, I am responsible for the early demise of our little ruse. Ha! That would be laughable were it not so tragic! If these oafs were more accomplished at "the game" they too would have been able to keep their wits about them as I, yes I, was getting mauled. But alas no. Instead one of them called for the attack to begin and for this, I am to be blamed? It just goes to show what additional trials I, and I alone, must face here. I fear that should any enemy infiltrate our court with anyone even slightly capable, intrigue not "monsters" will be the downfall of our little Kingdom.

Fortunately, (for me anyway) that is Nathaniel's department.

Milords,

The primary task is completed as the threat of organized banditry has been eliminated. Despite my well conceived plan's being prematurely abandoned due to a definite lack of tactical sense (not on the part of the bear as you might expect. He actually performed brilliantly!), the main bastion of the outlaws in the area was infiltrated. With the death of the scoundrel known as "The Stag Lord" I believe that I have little else to do regarding these ruffians than to mop up a handful of isolated pockets of resistance.

Most of the area known as the Greenbelt has been explored and roughly mapped.

Milords,

Pursuant to your charter, I have entered the Greenbelt intent on subduing same in your names and to your glory. There is much to be done here but I have made excellent progress thus far. I must confess though that I have been less than impressed with most of the men I have found here bearing similar charters. I have had to gather most of them at "Oleg's" (the Greenbelt's closest approximation of civilization) for their own safety. Thank you for the soldiers you've sent as they have proven most helpful in this regard.

Luckily, I have found my siblings here as well. I am sure Milord's will appreciate, given my tenuous authority here, how important it is to surround oneself with good men who do not question every decision. I have also picked up a man who claims to be a "Druid". I used to think I knew what that meant but now I am unsure. In any case, he is accompanied by a bear who has proven most useful in combat. There is also a smelly Gnome who, while completely undisciplined, is still a great fighter when first pointed in the right direction. While I fear these two will prove more a liability once civilization is brought to these lands they are, for the time being, a help to our cause. This is, of course, my problem and I will handle it with my usual efficiency when the time comes.

Per my directives, we are currently doing more exploring than anything else. I am taking care of the obvious and unredeemable threats where necessary but winning most to us. My theory being that taxable allies are better than dead enemies.

Your loyal servant,

Geoffrey Kaylor

I.E. bad....Firefox good.

I have my own perceptions visa-vie the aforementioned events but I will carry on from here rather than retrofit my own ideas.

OoC: Well, this isn't quite accurate. Muli knows his travelling companions are all "big boys". They have been warned and can take care of themselves. His leaving might cripple their attempts at going proactive but that would only encourage them to accept Sabina's warning and leave the city themselves.

"I do not normally accept the council of other men, let alone a woman and you, you are not even one of my wives."

In truth Muli recognized the self-sacrificing nature of Sabina's warning. She was concerned enough with his safety to forego any and all help he would have been to her in the future in order to safeguard him from harm....obviously. He could warn his friends or not as he saw fit but it was of paramount importance to her that he leave the city, she said so. But what kind of man could do this thing? No, he would stay and face whatever danger presented itself and, if the gods will it so, he, his friends, and Sabina will die fighting for Korvosa together.

The next morning, a sign from the gods that he was on the righteous path as Cressida (herself trusted by the party members) echoed Sabina's warning. Vindication! Certainly even those of hardest heart must now see Sabina's innocence! None can deny and would not speak again against his love lest they themselves be touched by djinn.

Geez Andy, you've painted me in such a bad light I don't even want to play with me anymore! ;) In fairness, I'd rather go with an as needed treasure split myself but 30+ years of playing this game shows me that someone always ends up feeling cheated and I hate that feeling! As I recall, my argument was with one player who was less concerned with my idea then he was with the math of my methodology. In any case, I will always go with a party decision adding only, "I'm not saying I'm going to stab anyone who doesn't do it my way but....someone might get stabbed".

"Until and unless one of these 'civilized' barbarians does something which offends my Qadiran sensibilities, I try always to remember that I am the foreigner here. In the end, you can't take life too seriously as you are not going to come out of it alive anyway."

I prefer to think of Muli as Sean Connery from The Wind and the Lion with an irrepressible Captain Jack Sparrow side. :)
