I am by no means a new gm. I am starting a new campaign. That is all.


Hello Everyone! I am about to begin a new campaign in Golarion and I am at a loss as to where to start it. I am looking at starting it in a small(ish) backwater village or town where nothing of big importance ever happens. I want the players to get the feel that they are the hero's of my story. Any suggestions will be considered. Thanks in advance!


Ok so that may be a bit misleading. Then again maybe not. We are about to begin a new campaign and my 8 (yes 8!) players have there characters all made up. While they were doing this I was bent over my books planning away. Many mischeivious and dastardly plans later I realized I still hadn't found WHERE I was going to start them. Ok so I thought I had. But my pain medication must have been kicking in good because I thought I had found the perfect location and now I can't find it again.

So the party are from a total of 7 different countries ranging from the Mwangi Expanse, to Taldor all the way up to Lastwall and Belkzen. The problem isn't getting them all together. The problem is where are they going?

The background story that has a direct effect with where they end up as a "home base" is two of the characters (half brothers) have inherited a hunting lodge. Both don't know the other exist and will soon find out. The hunting lodge needs to be located in a village or town that has seen lots of conflict. A good majority of the buildings would have been rebuilt a number of times due to raids from pirates, goblins, giants or what have you.

So where in The Inner Sea would you suggest? Make your claim for a favorite location or one you'd like to use in the future. If it could be located near ruins from a past age or on a coast that would be great. Any and all suggestions considered. Thanks all in advance.


Thank you for all the advice. I think after much thought and conversation the final two players have narrowed it down. The one will be playing a Wizard with item creation and control as his main staples. The other is either going buff cleric or melee bard.

Thanks for all the input. Oh and to answer the question it will be homebrew adventures. The basic theme of the campaign is war, the World Wound, Runelords, Orc tribes of Belzkin, piracy and slavery. Basically all the bad stuff that can happen will. Or some such.


Hello all. My current party has a dilemma. It is a very large group of which we are alright with as the players are pretty mature and able to focus pretty well. Table chat tends to be a minimum and usually related to the topic so its not disrupting. With that being said I have 8 players at my table. We (I) are not concerned with the size at all.

What I am concerned with is the party make up. Two of the players have yet to pick and are asking me what I think would fit best. My first pick was play what they wanted to and what they thought they would have the most fun playing. They said anything would work they wanted what would round out the party most.

So here is a list of my party as of yet. What do you think would be the most two beneficial characters after reading the following 6?

1)Male Half Orc Ranger
-Will be ranged. 1st Feat is Point Blank Shot
-10HP. Favored Enemy: Orc
2)Female Ifrit Sorceror
-Weapon Prof: Whip
-7HP. Magic Missile, Animate Rope is lvl 1 spell selection.
3)Male Human Paladin
-Followr of Imodae
-10Hp. Weapon Focus Longsword, Improved Initiative
4)Male Aasimar Cavalier
-Weapon Prof. Bastard Sword
-8HP. Lookout Teamwork Feat. Will fight from mount as often as able.
5)Female Catfolk Summoner
-Pounce Eidolon.
-5HP. Eidolon has 9.
6)Female Human Oracle
-Mystery Life. Channel Energy 5/Day
-7HP. Bless and Cure Light Wounds lvl 1 spells.

They have all purchased or started with mounts. From what I see is they lack another dedicated damage dealer and back up heals. One of the players yet to have chosen has thrown around a Wizard more focused on controlling the battle field. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. We are all really excited to start on this.

P.S. The players are doing really well coming up with back stories so I am encouraging this as much as possible. The Half Orc and Aasimar are half brothers. There mother had the Aasimar and had her longevity increased as she was a retired adventurer. Didn't raise the son. She was then raped and died during child birth having an Orc's baby.


So I have looked and looked and can't find anywhere the stats for a Mite if you were to create a PC Mite. Anyone have a link or some advice? I love this race and think it could be a lot of fun to roleplay one. Thanks in advance for any help.


Thank you for all the great options! What I am leaning towards is a very charismatic Sorcerer with max U.M.D. Do like the Alchemist idea and am serious contemplating the Bard. I think the Bard would bring the most to the party with buffs, spells and such.

I have a couple idea's running thru my head but am unsure what this group is lacking most. The group currently consists of:

1)Elf Ranger (ranged)
2)Human Gunslinger
3)Human Druid (focus on melee / shape changing)
4)Orc Barbarian
5)Human Magus

At first glance I notice a few things we lack. A dedicated healer type. An arcane "god" focusing on controlling spells. A melee defender type in heavy armor and shield. So what are your thoughts? What do you think we lack the most?


I would go with Summoner, Oracle and Barbarian.

We are doing something similar for a break from roleplaying. We are doing a 25 point buy, level 16 arena for fun. Should prove interesting as all 4 players are making different arena teams.


He said he would like to be able to grab with a pair of arms and still attack. I thought he was just going for the image. Keep in mind said player has Aspergers so he isn't trying to unbalance things.


I have a player that wishes to play as a race that has 4-6 arms. I can't think of any race like this nor can I come up with anyway to do this. Any advice or options? Am I missing something? He would like to play a monk. Thanks in advance.
