Check out our new campaign for the Gangfight Skirmish Game System! In this campaign we hope to fund the printing of our rulebook, allowing you to play tabletop skirmish battle games in any setting you want, with any miniatures you want!

The campaign is live now and going strong, we are nearly funded. Check it out! :)

I'm happy to announce the launch of our new Kickstarter campaign, Blackwater Gulch: Savage Beasts!

Blackwater Gulch is a Western Horror skirmish game where Infamous Gangs clash with Savage Beasts in a desperate struggle for survival!

With your help, we hope to introduce this new faction of were-things to the game, bringing lots of new, highly-detailed miniatures and an updated rulebook.

Visit our campaign page at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gangfightgames/blackwater-gulch-savage -beasts and help us out!

Thanks :)

I'm happy to announce that this campaign is now EU-Friendly! Sorry we didn't start out that way, but there were some details that had to be worked out first. Good news is EU shipping will be a little cheaper than the rest of the world, pretty much the same as the Canadian price. I've created a new pledge level for EU shipping, even though it's the same price as Canada, just so it won't be confusing. If you're in a EU country, feel free to switch your pledge to the new one :) I've gotten more than numerous requests for a EU-Friendly option so I'm hoping this will bring in new blood! As usual, go tell your friends about Bad Lands :)

Next up, I've also gotten a lot of requests for info on more stretch goals. So, I added the goal for the Wererat beast pack, which will also include a bonus Epic Boss added to the core game, the Jersey Devil. Epic Bosses are even tougher than your average alpha skinwalker. The wererat pack will be a $41,000 goal. We basically need $8k for each new beast pack. I've also got plans for lizards (werecroc?) and insects (Mothman?), but I don't have any art for those yet.

Last but not least, I'm also going to start sculpting the Beast miniatures for the eventual Blackwater Gulch beast faction expansion. Just like the gang members, you can also use the beast minis in your Bad Lands games if you want. It will take quite a while to sculpt everything, I'll just be doing 1 or 2 new sculpts at a time and selling them on my site. The first sculpt I'll be doing is the Alpha Werewolf, he's being sculpted by Clint McLean, the fella that made the infamous Sharktipede! Best of all, I will include a free copy of the Alpha Werewolf miniature for all backers who are pledging to receive a copy of the game (basically $55 or more), and I'll also offer him separately too. I'll make a more official announcement about that around the web when I get some screenshots to show off, but I'm not sure when exactly.

Visit our Kickstarter page here to check it out!

Today's update:

Howdy pardners!

Wow, we’re off to a great start. Thank you all for your support so far! We need help spreading the word, there are so many gaming sites out there, I’ll never be able to find them all. Please share this project with all of your friends or post a link on your favorite forums or facebook or anywhere you can :)

Throughout the course of the campaign I’ll be posting updates with some of the game’s background, hero & villain bios and other aspects of the game. So let's start with the two different ways to play.

The “default” way to play is Survival Mode. This is the co-op rules that were shown in the How to Play video, where your Heroes are suddenly caught in the middle of a beast assault. All Heroes hail from rival gangs in the town of Blackwater Gulch, but they are forced to work together if they want to survive the night. Still, each Hero wants to come out on top, and the one who scores the most kills and scores the most loot will win. Combat is easier in Survival Mode, the beasts are easier to kill, but there are a whole lot of them and if you allow them to swarm around your Hero, they will rip you to shreds real quick. Also, since the enemies attack automatically, it's quite easy (and fun) to play solo games too.

The second way to play is Adventure Mode. In this mode, one player will become the Overlord or Game Master, we just call him the Villain Player. He will set up the board, place the objectives and control all of the beasts, while all other players will control the Heroes. The combat rules change slightly, unlike Survival Mode where Heroes can automatically wound their enemies, in Adventure Mode the Villain player will roll to hit and make saving throws the same way Heroes do. This makes the beasts much more powerful, so there won’t be as many. The Villain player builds his beast back based on the amount of Heroes in the game. First he chooses one Boss like an Alpha Skinwalker. Then he can select 2 fiends like normal Skinwalkers, or 3 Minions for each Hero in the adventure.

Both game modes can be played as a single game, or they can be linked together into ongoing campaigns. I'll go more into detail on the campaigns next time :)

Thanks again for your help!

More to come...

Campaign has been launched!

check it out :)

The "how to play" video is finished. It came out to 12 minutes which is about twice as long as I was hoping, but considering it was about an hour to begin with I guess that's not too bad :) I just did the first few turns of the game then jumped to the end to show how to figure out who wins if it's a single game, or how much XP you'd earn if it was a campaign game.

This was just mean to show the basic mechanics so I just used 2 heroes to speed it up. Most games will use 4 heroes and have twice as many beasts spawning, so the fights will be a lot more challenging.

Hey folks

Our Kickstarter preview page is up, we’re planning to hit the launch button on Feb 1st.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gangfightgames/1965724351?token=8a0cdb 41

We still have to add some more graphical menus, and finish the how to play video, and we’re still waiting for a few more art pieces to come in (I think the werebison is my favorite :) ). Also as soon as the campaign launches we’ll add update #1 to act as a menu listing all of the Blackwater Gulch gangs and solo minis with photos. Since there’s a lot we thought it would clutter up the main page too much. Throughout the campaign we’ll also be posting updates with hero & monster bios and fluff.

Stay tuned :)

Little update, we finished the preliminary loot cards now. The design my change slightly in the end, once we are finished drawing up all the stat icons. For now, I placed each of the core loot cards here in this PDF.

Gray cards are uncommon, there will be multiple copies of each making up almost half of the 64-card deck. Green cards are uncommon, blue are rare, purple are infamous and orange is legendary. You'll only be able to get Legendary cards in the core boxed game(s). Later on when we do all new stand-alone games, each one will have a different legendary item.

Beast Packs will have 10 extra loot cards too... 4 commons, 3 uncommon, 2 rare and 1 infamous. There will be some repeats for common items but each new beast pack will have a few new loot cards too that don't come in the core box.

The first beast pack we're planning is Werebulls, they'll have an Alpha Skinwalker Bison, 2 Skinwalker Bulls and 3 Hodag minions. That will be the first stretch goal and an add-on item, and each goal will also add a new bonus hero and/or monster to the core game too

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Howdy Folks!

Allow me to introduce our new game, Bad Lands: Curse of the Skinwalker!

Bad Lands is a Co-Op Western Horror Survival Game where you play the roles of rival gang members turned town defenders, forced to put their differences aside to fight off a vicious onslaught of Skinwalkers (were-beasts) and many other folklore creatures.

Curse of the Skinwalker is the first game, focusing on werewolves and other were-things, along with other corrupted animals like Jackalopes or Chupacabras. We do have other separate-but-compatible games planned for other themes, this is just the first.

The game is fast and fun and easy to learn. It plays similar to other survival games like Zombicide, you can use the heroes right out of the box for a quick game, or build your own heroes, adventures and campaigns totally from scratch and earn fame and fortune RPG-style.

The game shares many similar rules with our skirmish game, Blackwater Gulch. You can use any BWG miniatures in your games if you wish, we'll have downloadable Hero Cards for every BWG character or you can use them for your custom heroes. There are no miniatures in Bad Lands though, we will be using cardstock pawns similar to games like Pathfinder to keep the prices way down. We will do miniatures later on though, but first we need to get the core game funded. We're planning to launch the game on Kickstarter on February 1st if all goes well. We're working on the "how to play" video and hope to have that done in a few days to a week or so.

We've been working on this game for the last 2 years now and are really excited to see it all finally coming together! So, head on over to our website to check it out! You can see some more pictures and also download the preview rulebook. Or leave a reply with any questions :)

I did some updates to the campaign page that will hopefully make it easier to see what's included in a squad set. Since I'm getting the 3D prints for the medium mech in both sizes, I added the medium mechs to the add-ons menu, and also made a new pledge level for $70 for a squad of 2 28mm light mechs and 1 28mm medium.

Visit the campaign page and check out the different human teams along with the squad payloads they favor :)

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gangfightgames/mechadrome-heavy-metal- combat

Got the 28mm light mech prints today :) Here's the new update!

Well, it's the end of day 2 and things are moving right along. Today the 3D prints for the 28mm scale Terran Light Mech arrived and I took some photos. This thing is actually pretty huge. It's exactly 2x bigger than the 15mm scale, so I guess it's more like a 30mm scale mech, but who's going to nitpick over 2mm when the model looks cool? :) Click here for the pics!

So, since he is bigger than I expected, I'm going to have to have him done in resin. I was planning on a $15 price tag but due to the size it's going to have to be $20. It will come with 1 pair of matching weapon arms of your choice plus 1 upgrade which would be either a missile pod, booster jets or extra armor plates. A lot of folks asked for this guy, at first I was thinking this would make a good proxy for a Warhammer 40K centurion, but it's actually more like dreadnought sized. If we can unlock the 28mm version of the Medium mech, that will probably be dreadknight sized :)

Also, this mech won't be a stretch goal after all, I'm going to add it in to the campaign as an add on item now since I was going to get it done anyway. The $15,000 stretch goal is going to change to unlock one of the other light mech body positions in 28mm so there will be more variety :)

Lastly, this mech is a "showcase model", since Mechadrome is a 15mm game. If there is enough interest I may put together rules for large scale games, mostly just doubling the movement and shooting ranges.

Day 1 Recap!

It's been a great first day though a little rocky on my end. There were some complaints about the prices, and rightly so, they were higher than I expected. But, I crunched some numbers and did some reorganizing. Now, all Squad sets will include 4 light mechs rather than 2, and still 1 Medium Mech, and a bunch of extra weapons for conversions too.

I've updated the stretch goals a bit as you'll see on the Kickstarter page. So depending on the funding level we will be able to upgrade the squads to have 2 mediums. And I also added a goal for a 28mm scale Medium Mech as well. I expect to have the 3D prints for the 28mm light mech tomorrow and I'll post photos as soon as I get them!

I also got the final 3D files for the terrain medium mech, and also the first Free Agent mech, Trion. I'll be sending those files out for printing asap. Free Agents are like special characters in unique mechs or with unique weapons or skills. Trion is medium mech armed with 2 Particle Cannons, which are similar to Railguns, but fire more rapidly. And he's also got booster jets and a missile pod. His guns are compatible with other mediums as well. He'll be $15 and you can also get him in a squad set instead of another medium if you prefer. You can see a high res photo of him on the Kickstarter page in Update #2.

The campaign finally is live! Here is the URL:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gangfightgames/mechadrome-heavy-metal- combat

About the game:

Hundreds of years from now, the greatest sport the galaxy has ever known will explode on your screens as everyone watches their favorite teams of giant Mechs beating each other to scrap. Mechadrome is a 15mm scale "Mech Combat Gladiator Arena Skirmish Game" set in the far future where man and alien races have come together, forming teams that do battle in arenas set in abandoned, war-torn cities and industrial zones. The game is simple, fast and fun, and the Mech models we hope to create with this Kickstarter campaign offer a wide variety of customization. The pieces are universal and can easily be glued to any Mech for lethal combinations of cannons, pistols, missile pods, and devastating melee weapons like jackhammers, buzzsaws and siege drills.

You can find more info on the campaign page along with photos and extensive concept art for future Mechs we hope to unlock with a variety of stretch goals. We can't make this game a reality without your help! Please help and pledge your support on our Kickstarter campaign page at:

If you have any questions, comments or ideas feel free to reply here or better yet leave a comment on the Kickstarter page!

The new campaign has gone extremely well! As of this moment we have 24 hours left and funding is over $31,000. At the rate it's been going lately, I'm pretty confident we'll get up to $40,000 to unlock the Secret Fist!. We're also really close to unlocking the next bonus figure, Doc Emmitt at $35,000. Once he's unlocked, everyone who pledges at the Gunslinger level ($100) or higher will be getting ELEVEN free miniatures and 6 colt 45 dice!

We've also added some new add-on items like paints and extra gatling gun models, in case you want the gun but not the gang, or you want the gang but want more guns!

So if you haven't jumped in yet, now is the time

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/springboard/blackwater-gulch-rebels-and -reinforcements

We just passed the $25,000 mark and the outlaw Clinton Wales has been unlocked! He's another bonus figure to add to the pile. Now pledges at the Gunslinger level ($100) or higher will get 10 free miniatures plus 6 Colt 45 dice.

Next on the list will be Wilde's Rangers, they'll be unlocked at $30,000. Only 2 days left!

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/springboard/blackwater-gulch-rebels-and -reinforcements

And now we just hit $20,000! The Tranquility Crew has been unlocked :)

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/springboard/blackwater-gulch-rebels-and -reinforcements

We've got some new and updated artwork for the the new bonus figures in our Kickstarter campaign.

Click Here for the New Bonus Figure Pics!

We have Nevada Dave the Treasure Hunter, Father Al, the outlaw Clinton Wales, Marshall Stewart, along with Doc Emmitt and his trusty sidekick Fox McFly. Currently we have a total of 9 unlocked bonus figures, so everyone who pledges at the Gunslinger level or higher gets 9 FREE figures, along with 6 Colt 45 dice.

We're also getting really close to unlocking our next new gang, The Tranquility Crew, with Clinton Wales to follow soon after! There are only 5 days left in the campaign. We made this a shorter-than-normal campaign due to the holidays, and it's done really well so far. So thanks to all of you who have helped us out. We're almost there!

Ding! Another goal shot down in a blaze of glory. Wayne Duke is now unlocked! :)

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/springboard/blackwater-gulch-rebels-and -reinforcements

We're funded! :)

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/springboard/blackwater-gulch-rebels-and -reinforcements

Oops, sorry. We'll update that now that you mention it. But the figures are all metal. They're made by Iron Wind Metals, the same guys who do Dark Sword, BattleTech and Malifaux to name a few :)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I just got the sculpt for Kurt Wyatt today :) He was done by Brother Vinni. Vinni will also be doing Dr. Kilmer and Wayne Duke since they will eventually be sold in 1 set together as the "Hired Guns: Lawmen Support Pack" :)

Here's some pics, 1 with some other minis for comparison and one extreme closeup.

http://www.blackwatergulch.com/ks/kurt1.jpg
http://www.blackwatergulch.com/ks/kurt2.jpg

We just did an update to the campaign page and changed around our stretch goals in light of what a lot of backers were requesting and to make the bonus items unlock sooner to give the higher level backers a much better value, and the lower level backers a lot more options to choose from :)

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/springboard/blackwater-gulch-rebels-and -reinforcements/

$5k - Kurt Wyatt Bonus Figure (unlocked now)
$10k - Widowmakers Gang Starter Set
$15k - Dr Kilmer Bonus Figure
$20k - Tranquility Crew Gang Starter Set
$25k - Wayne Duke Bonus Figure
$30k - Flying Zarconis Gang Starter Set
$35k - Nevada Dave Bonus Figure
$40k - Secret Fist Gang Starter Set
$45k - Father Al Bonus Figure
$50k - Dockside Drifters Gang Starter Set
$55k - Marshall Stewart Bonus Figure
$60k - Wilde's Rangers Gang Starter Set

So we just alternate every $5000 1 bonus figure then 1 gang. We also moved the Tranquility Crew up to $20,000 just because so many people have been asking for it. I didn't expect that, I kind of tacked that one on at the end at first just for fun, turns out it's the one everyone wants most :)

Thanks! :) I'm sure we'll get there :)

Well yes, 3 months would be quick but that's actually 3 months late, not just 3 months. I was hoping to have everything released in August. We didn't even get the final sculpts until a few days before I left for GenCon. The sculptor missed his deadline a bit, and then they got hung up in customs collecting dust for a while.

Then it was another 2-3 weeks to get master figures made, another 4-6 for production figures, another 4-6 to paint everything, then design the boxes and everything else that needed photos of the painted miniatures. Then we sent the files off to the printer and right before we were about to sign off on the proofs we found a bunch of small errors that had to be fixed, so here we are now waiting on the boxes and cards to show up at the warehouse.

So.. it's been hell at times, just sitting around waiting for the next step that always takes way longer than you think. But, it was a lesson learned the hard way and now I know what to expect and how to plan for the future.

I might have been able to get everything done sooner if I did it all myself, but the quality wouldn't have been as good. A lot of the extra time with printing was all on account of wanting a quality product in the end, so Game Salute spent extra time (and cash) getting a really nice full color rulebook put together and having retail-worthy boxes. So even though the delays were frustrating I think in the long run folks will appreciate the quality and work that went into it.

Most of those issued are addressed in the first update. I take full responsibility for not knowing how long it would really take to get everything produced. Which is why this current campaign has such a far off release date. Next time around the plan is to have people happy to see something come a little early than disappointed that it came late.

To make up for the delays we had with packaging and printing, I offered to send all original backers their figures "unboxed", and everyone who asked for their unboxed figs have gotten their orders. Those that are still waiting are the ones that wanted box & all. And unboxed is still an option, if you're waiting for an old order and didn't know you could get it unboxed, you can contact me at info@blackwatergulch.com and I'll get your order finalized and sent out.

Game Salute is producing the starter sets now, they're waiting on the last batch of boxes to be printed and then they'll pack everything up and send everything out asap.

Howdy folks! A friend said this would be a good place to share the Kickstarter for my game, Blackwater Gulch. If anyone wants more info feel free to reply :)

Blackwater Gulch - Rebels & Reinforcements

Blackwater Gulch is a tabletop skirmish game based on the Wild West. We launched our first successful Kickstarter campaign for the game back in March. Now that the models we produced are about to be shipped to previous backers, we are launching this new campaign, Rebels & Reinforcements, to fund even more miniatures! We have several all new gangs planned, along with new 3-man “Support Packs” that will expand upon our existing gangs. We’re also offering lots of new bonus figures, custom dice, laser cut building kits and more!

For more information on all of the new models and other goodies we have planned, please visit the Kickstarter campaign page.
