About Gabriella Ganescu

APPEARANCE

Gabriella is a short, dark haired Varisian woman with a tattoo of seven curling stars around her right eye. She dresses in heavy, dark red robes with a deep hood which she keeps pulled over her face, casting it in mysterious shadows. Her hair is tied back with a silver braid.

BACKGROUND

Gabriella was born into a travelling Varisian family which wandered across Varisia and into Ustalav. Her people were a mixture of merchants, showfolk, mystics, astrologers and priests of Desna. She was born under a great shower of fallen stars, which was seen as a sign that she was favoured by Desna. At an early age she went missing from their camp and was found days later in an ancient Thassilonian ruin talking about having spoke to a strange glowing lady. No-one could discover who this was but over the following several months she began to develop sorcerous powers. She would often fall into a trance and speak strange languages and spout prophecies which would sometimes come true.

In an effort to help her control her abilities her family took her to the Twilight Academy. They determined that she had a strong connection to the Harrow and took her in. Several long and arduous years followed which she often resented but ultimately she came to accept her abilities, complete her training, and leave the Academy in full control of her powers.

Returning to her family she spent several years travelling Varisia and Ustalav, helping those who needed it and opposing oppression and tyranny wherever she went. She has worked with various different organisations in her time, the Pathfinder Society, the Harrowed Society and even certain elements of the Acadamae in Korvosa. Most recently she has heard of the appearance of a powerful new Harrow Deck which draws her like a moth to the flame.

PERSONALITY

Gabrielle is a serious young woman who understands that she has been granted great power and fully intends to make use of it for the benefit of her people and those who are oppressed or victimised. She has little respect for bureaucracy, laws or traditions which harm others and can be quite unpredictable. However, she is also loyal to her friends, generous to those who need her help and devoted to her family.
