About GM Takeyabue
About me:
I am a grandfatherly male (he,him) who has been involved with table-top roleplay for over fifty years playing with friends, children and now grandchildren. I have learned that there is no perfection in life and that we must always strive to support and build up those around us. I still make mistakes and welcome your forbearance and help to keep things moving forward when I do.
Why I GM:
I agree to serve as the GM expecting have an enjoyable experience with each of you as we play a game together. I always fully expect that my players will endure to the end and emerge successful and victorious. In other words, the actual game is more about the collective story that emerges as we play together than whether you and I win or lose.
What I expect from Players:
As your GM I understand that I bring my own expectations and structures into the game. I also understand that each player brings their own expectation and structures. I expect players to work with me and the other players in finding a compromise where everyone enjoys themselves. This is only possible if the players are open and communicative about finding and maintaining that balance. Communication is a magic bullet, when in doubt communicate. Silence is a killer of both enjoyment and understanding.
Specific Requests and Preferences:
* Posts and communication in all channels should be limited to a PG-13 level and be both positive and inclusive.
* Please stay true to the perspective and knowledge of your character throughout in-game communications. The game is about what your character knows and not about what you, the player, knows.
* As communication is key, please expect to post at least once per weekday and once at the weekend.
* Absence, sickness, and just the normal interference of daily life is understood but needs to be communicated.
* Please assist me in knowing how to proceed by establishing and maintaining an order of march and which character will take the lead in certain situations.
* Please assist me and the other players in better understanding your character by providing simple instructions on how to handle your character in the event that you are unable to respond in a timely manner (i.e. "bot" your character). A convenient place to store these instructions and guidelines is in your character profile.
* If the party is in a combat situation or a skill check, map position, or other information is needed from you, and more than 24 hours have passed since your last post was made, I will check in the OOC channel to see if any of the other characters have your permission to bot your character.
* If no other character has your permission to bot your character. I will bot your character. I prefer not to bot, but I want the game to keep moving. If I do bot you, it will likely be minimal. I won't use player non-renewable resources except in dire situations or with your permission (most likely, cure light wounds charges when absolutely necessary). I may take consensus and/or input from the remaining party when choosing bot actions.
