![]() Retcon the Drow populace of Apostae as some other sub-type of elf, I would imagine? It's not great, but it means that they wouldn't be shutting the door on Apostae just yet. Though it does suck having Drow removed for legal reasons rather than story ones. Though if you do want to keep using Drow for your home games, no one can stop you. ![]()
![]() I've thought about how Golarion World would be advertised when it first opens. In a word, tastelessly. I'm going to have my players receive a transmission flagged as urgent that opens like it could be a distress signal. A roughed-up looking person in what looks like a horribly damaged starship interior begins speaking, "I don't have much time. I was exploring The Vast with my crew, and the short of it is that we found Golarion... And it's super fun!" The starship set is pulled away to reveal Golarion World in all its glory. From there it's pretty much a Disney resort commercial. ![]()

Wow, that's actually very helpful. Thank you! Driftbourne wrote: On Eox, every day is Halloween. Eox might have a day of remembrance for their transition into undeath. That might somehow be tied to the halls of the living as well. Every day is Halloween... [insert Nightmare Before Christmas music here] I'm beginning to think that Eox might just have the best parties. Driftbourne wrote:
Those are all great ideas, keep them coming! With exact dates that were lost during The Gap, I figure they'd just go with an educated guess to fill in the blanks. Signal Day seems like it would likely be important to pretty much anyone that uses Drift travel, though it might be a slightly more controversial holiday following the Drift Crisis Ysoki having a cheek pouch stuffing contest... Yep. That's just the right combination of cute and slightly gross. Bonus points if part of the contest is to see who can still speech intelligibly with their cheek pouches full. ![]()
![]() Maybe I get caught up on minutiae like this, but having recognized holidays in settings do a lot to make them feel like real, living worlds. The only one I'm aware of is "Pact Day" which is the anniversary of the signing of the documents that officially chartered the Pact Worlds. I imagine it's celebrated much like The United States' Independence Day. So, what are some holidays that you've had in your games if any? Who celebrates them and how? ![]()
![]() I've been wanting to get back into RPGs and GMing as well, but I've had mental health barriers as well. It's been a combination of previous groups telling me that I wasn't very good at dialing back my "That Player" and "Main Character" tendencies, especially when I get too excited. As well as self esteem issues and anxiety which are... mostly manageable. I don't like to talk about the latter since most people I know have way worse anxiety issues than I do, which make mine feel like I'm complaining about nothing. As for my bad table etiquette... Ehh... The best I can really say is that I like to think I've learned my lesson, and it was never on purpose. I'm still scared of messing things up though. ![]()
![]() An episode of a cooking show hosted by a Shirren. They make macaroni and cheese while speaking in a very soft reassuring voice. Psychically, because it's a Shirren. It's very wholesome, chill and cozy. A photo of a Skittermander on a fishing trip on an ocean you assume is somewhere on Castrovel. They're posing with a massive fish held up with a small crane. If you want something a bit darker, an audio recording. When played, "We found Old Golorian. Please, I'm begging you, don't come here. The Drift, it--" the file cuts out and when it cuts back in, there's only screaming ![]()
![]() I'm still new to Starfinder and I'm still learning the rules. When I finally get the chance to play I really like the Mechanic class, especially the idea of having a drone. So, folks that have experience in running the game, what's your feeling on changing up what kinds of drones are available from the start? RAW are that starting mods on existing drone chassis cannot be changed, but what if you were to take an existing drone and swap out some of its starting features for others? What I was thinking of in specific is a "Utility Drone" which using the hover drone as a base, removing the flight system and weapon mount and replacing them with manipulator arms and smuggler's compartment. I would want to also swap out the acrobatics skill with engineering. The idea is that it would be a drone that primarily brings the Mechanic their tools or materials and assists in repairs. I would also like the drone to be Tiny-sized, since it would more easily get into areas that the Mechanic cannot reach on their own. Plus, it would be little enough to perch on the Mechanic's shoulder which would just be cute. So, those of you that are more savvy to the Starfinder ruleset, what would you think of this? Also, GMs-- is this something that you would allow in a game you were running? |
