There should be a rules exception with the justification: "Yes, because it is too funny not to."

Garedon considers the change: mundane and supernatural; simple and enormous.

"I have often been told that 'my heart is in the right place', which was always a mysterious observation for people to make: By what means did they come by this information? Still, now I am not so sure what difference it makes, insofar as each organ maintains its position and function relative to each connecting organ and tissue."

"Interestingly, I feel mentally no different. Hmm. Lausu naht esnes erom yna ekam siht seod? On? Hmm. I wonder if I will be able to prepare spells? Will magical inscriptions or, indeed, runes and holy symbols, work as expected?"

"Now, am I properly considered an opposite, obverse, reverse, inverse, converse, or, indeed, something perverse, like a doppleganger? ... Upon reflection, I believe that I may be a reflection."

(Some things do not change.)

Garedon, watching where he steps, goes up to the door, looks it over quickly, and then listens at the door before stepping aside.

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27

"I hear a 'thump-thump thump-thump thump-thump'..." Garedon whispers significantly. "One moment please... Ah, yes, that would be my cardiac rhythm. My heightened senses are requiring some perceptual adjustments."

"Now for the aspect of the beggar, not wanting to leave anything incompletely investigated. Hmm. I am uncertain whether I shall require assistance or not. Perhaps someone could make available a 'copper penny' or 'copper piece' and I shall request it."

Garedon retrieves the wooden bowl from his mess kit, slips off his shoes, and applies a thin but judicious coating of cave soil to his face and arms. Lowering himself onto his knees, he says, "Now, for the mental aspect. Although I have an truly extraordinary intellect, I believe that I will still be able to affect the necessary posture of humility: all that should be required is to momentarily consider my skills in comparison to that of Masters Shane or Zey, or indeed to such legendary powers as the Arclords of Nex."

Garedon pauses and, for a moment, all bluff and bluster leaves him, and he then extends a bowl and asks, "May I please be the recipient of a Absalom 'copper penny' (or a similar denomination of currency from elsewhere). My funds are currently insufficient to my needs."

Edit: Ninja'ed by the GM!

"Fortunately, then, my dear, there are no cats in the next room," the paracountess chuckles to Kawrock, though she answers Vyk Tyr with a colder, matter-of-factness, "And, my dear, do not discount the power of 'just' an illusion - you can kill, even, with an illusion."

Turning to Zander, "The clerics are always the most boring and to the point, it seems," Zarta says with an exaggerated sigh and frown, "But I would think a cleric of Shelyn would understand the importance of beauty over substance..."

"Speaking of 'points'," the paracountess reaches into her desk and withdraws an exquisite silver 'letter opener', shaped like a lethal dagger. "A servant is greatly misbehaving. You’re going to have to deal with it in order to get the trinket. You might need this to get it to submit," she offers with a sly grin.

You can decide who accepts the dagger. It's treated as a masterwork silver dagger.
