Frerin follows Luke. Hmmm...What do we have here? He looks around as well.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Frerin continues to use his happy stick on the raging barbarian.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

That should heal up that wound rather nicely!

After the terrible attempt: Frerin taps the wand against his leg. Silly branch. You must do better than that!

[ooc]Sorry. Didn't know your HP total.[ooc]

If I can retroact, I would like to move up last rd and draw my CLW wand and then heal this rd.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Never fear Ragnar! Frerin is here!

Freeing stands back waiting to see if anyone will require healing.

Fort Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Oh my...what a horrible stench <gag...gag> What died in here? Frerin pinches his nose.

Muli!!! Ditto the above!

Frerin stands back and takes in the conversation awaiting the answer.

Let me see what I have in here.

Frerin pulls out his crooked wooden wand of CLW and taps the brute.

Heals: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

If we are not in a hurry, he keeps tapping.

Heals: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Heals: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Heals: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

RD1

Fire Bolt/Touch Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Frerin steps up and fires a bolt at the carrion.

Rd2

Fire Bolt/Touch Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Fire: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Fires another bolt.

Well done Muli. We will be sure to avoid it then.

Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Hey...That is 2 knowledge natures I have won in a row!

Frerin casts light on Skäggig then steps back to let the barbarian take the lead. It may be more wise to let you lead mighty beadurinc. Next, he casts guidance on Ragnar to enhance his ability to spot danger.

Beadurinc=Warrior

Surprise!:

Knowledge (Nature): 1d20+8

Ragnar kens not what the beasts are, but knows the truth of the matter... they need to bleed. Stepping forward he brings skaggig down in a heavy arc towards the nearest of them...

Power Attack Greataxe: 1d20+7-1 for 1d12+4+3

5ft step forward before the axe descends.

You will have a coupe de gras if I sleep that one. You may need to reroll- automatic hit and crit.

Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Hibernate DC: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Frerin begins chanting in his ancient Druidic language and tosses sand in the air. A light yellow light forms a 10' square in the air and slowly descend on two on the creatures.

Cast Hibernate-Will Save (DC 15) I am guessing warm blooded would include magical beasts? It effects two HD. I am not sure if it will effect 0, 1, or, 2 creatures.

Sleep foul Héafodbáncatte from th' abyss!

I would hold the spell until after Muli's bomb, but before Ragnar's turn so he can blow them up. If they both die before my turn, I'll hit the other one.

No hurry!

I can't hit that knowledge nature.

Frerin smiles at the barbarian's comment. I like your style Ragnar! Lets burn the fools out! He prepares to follow the others in while keeping a watchful eye for an ambush.

When Luke returns: Do not look, but there is a wire from the entrance of the underkeep to the helm and spear. Someone is trying to lead us away from the entrance.

Frerin frowns at the tactics.

Haha!!

I am afraid I will be too loud Luke. I will walk a ways back though so if you see anything I can stop before I alarm it. I have been study morphing magic and soon I will be able to transform into an animal and sneak with you! Frerin walk behind the ranger as he heads around the ruins.

Stealth: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (6) - 3 = 3
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

Frerin has spent the past few days in quiet thought. After several years alone, he was finding it difficult to relate to his new companions.

He had been happy by himself in the grove for the past decade, but things had changed. The signs were all there...the change in migration patterns; the severity of the cold, harsh winters; the silence of the fey...not to mention the death of his good friend, Quern. Yep...Frerin knew it was time to step into action.

As the group walks toward the Puca Lair, he bends over and picks up some snow. He takes a bit on his index finger and licks it. He looks around and then watches as Luke sneaks up closer to scout the area.

Looking on with pride, he whisper to no one in particular:

That Luke is un duguþ now.

un duguþ= a young fellow who has reached manhood

How should I introduce my old dweorg hermit to the group? The connection betwee Luke and I is stated above.

I am excited, but not in a big hurry. RL issues are always most important!

I am still here as well.

We could do a little obi wan kenobi deal. Druid who used to be heavily involved in fighting/defense of communities, but has been burned out the past 15 years. Living as a hermit. His only real non animal visitor was Luke as a teenager. They spent time in the woods together on and off for several years. (Frerin teaching a young Luke the things he knows about survival and nature) The group could take a trip to his grove and ask him to join them on the hunt for Puka since Luke remembered his stories of fighting them ie get him back in the game.

Thoughts?

Strength of land: WOW! +1 caster level when outside and on land or in tunnels/dungeons? Yes please!

Awesome! I am on vacation until Saturday. I'm looking forward to getting in the game. Looking at your suggestions now!

I'm definitely switching to giant hunter! I went fire due to the harshness of surviving the cold and fighting cold type monsters (Yeti etc.). I went dweorg for RP purposes as much as anything! Thank you for suggestions. Keep them coming.

We have a lot of melee so I am built more as a support/blaster (fire). Scrolls allow me to prepare the Remove (sickness/disease/poison), Protection, and Restoration spells as well as non save spells Fairy Fire/Obscurring Mist.

I am thinking about doing spell focus evocation and scribe scroll (for flexibility) instead of augmented summoning. Thoughts?

Frerin - a question. How do you holistically view summoning animals? Will the resulting nature's allies be treated with respect, or as disposable speedbumps?

Dwarf looks good... just interested.

Great question. I plan to treat then with respect.

Since we are in a good place, I would like to swap Nadia out for this druid. He could have history with Luke?
