Male Halfling Oracle 1
Fosco's 1st Journal Entry: Grim and I are lucky to be alive! We barely escaped the attack on our ship. Sad to see so many of my fellow pirates slaughtered by those damned Magnimarians. I did what I could to help them, but the carnage was too great and my healing power too weak. Oh well, live by the sword, die by the sword. At least I've still got Grim. Grim and I met a couple adventurers... a bard and a monk. Bard's name is Jazz. Hilarious fellow! Put on an amazing show for a tough as nails crowd. Grim didn't even break a smile. Heart of stone. Monk's name is Chi. Bit of a goody two shoes and a little preachy for my liking, but he does seem to have some useful skills. Balance, balance, balance... So we end up at some rich lady's house. Sheila Heidmarch. She's a looker alright, but a bit enigmatic. Then she pulls out this funny lookin' puzzle box, covered in runes of some sort. Open it she says. So we did and these two nasty little gremlin things jump out and start trashin' the place! At first I thought I was having one of my episodes, but then the monk jumps on one of 'em like a cat pouncin' on a rat and good ol' Grim tenderizes one with that damned earthbreaker he's always swinging around. Revolting, but effective. Anyway, after Shiela sees the mess we've made, it's a wonder she sends us on a mission for her! Tried to get some more coin beyond the meager stipend , but 50 G for the lot of us is all she would spare. So we end up in a down and out pub, talking to a self-important charlatan called the Amazing Zgrathi. End up payin' him for some information about slavers. Well that perked up ol' Grim. Saw him torture a slaver to death once. Scary. Anyway, so we act on the tip and wind up staking out a dilapidated bar down on the docks. Tip turns out to be bogus. No Natalia. But we did end up seeing a light over near the shore, amongst some boulders. So we sneak over and outta nowhere Grim and Chi get hit by a dazzling blast of bright colored light! Not a hallucination this time... it was a damned mage and a few henchmen. Bit of a scuffle ensues. Chi knocks one out cold with some sorta flying fist of fury (I gotta learn that one) and then Grim executes him in cold blood. The other two thugs run for their lives, leaving the old man with a belly full of Grim's steel. Asked him why he did that later on. Told me he thought the man was a slaver. Anyway, Grim mortally wounds the old man and is about to finish him when the old guys starts begging for his life. Turns out he's working for the Scarnzi. This guy probably knows too much at this point, so Grim wants to put him out of his misery. My pragmatic side agrees, but that monk wouldn't have it. So we let him go. I can see that Chi and Grim are going to be at odds quite often. Either that's bad for Chi, or maybe it'll do the old brute some good. We'll see. Well that's my day. Time to have a few ales and rest up. Tomorrow we're climbing a damned tower.
Male Halfling Oracle 1
Fosco's Backstory: Fosco Knotwise was born 18 years ago to wealthy parents in the Kalistocracy of Druma. Despite a privileged upbringing, Fosco was always tormented by seemingly malevolent spirits. In his presence, strange and unexpected things tend to happen. Small objects have been known to move of their own accord and strange, otherworldly noises seem to come from nowhere. His friends and families grew afraid of the young halfling and soon started to shun him. After years of being treated as an outcast, Fosco left Druma and joined the Pathfinder Society at the age of 14 to seek adventure and, more importantly, discovery the nature of his strange affliction. While wandering the lands of Golarian, Fosco discovered that he possessed an innate power which allows him to heal others. It seemed that his curse was accompanied by a blessing. At age 16 Fosco joined a roving band of pirates, serving as their medic in return for modest pay and an opportunity to hone his healing skills and further investigate the nature of his powers and his affliction. During his travels with the pirates Fosco found a kindred spirit (and loyal protector) in the half-orc fighter Grim. Both were outcasts, shunned for their differences. Two years later, the pirates were attacked by a Magnimarian war ship and the pirate vessel destroyed. Only Fosco and Grim survived the attack, barely making it to shore alive. After several days of camping in the wilderness, Fosco and Grim find themselves at the gates of Magnimar, ready to embark on a new adventure. |
