Background History:

Until the age of 19, Florr spent her whole life on and off of deep sea fishing boats with her family as a part of the Hemera Fishing Company, who controls most of the fishing in the Yellow Sea. This family company operates off the coast of Cordon’s Village, where her ancestors settled many years ago. Florr is young but hardworking and loyal, traits developed by long hours at sea and being surrounded by a family of sailors - even with those who worked the boats not related to her. Every sailor believed in and worshiped Valkur, mighty god and captain of the waves; in particular, the sea dwarves shared with her their traditions to glorify the virtues of the god (she learned dwarven from spending her time with the sea dwarves). Florr especially enjoyed stories of Valkur's earthly exploits and explorations.

During one sailing trip when Florr was 18, a massive storm threatened to wipe out most of the fishing fleet and destroy her family. She made a bargain with Valkur to save the ships and her family by entering into his cleric service and spreading the word. She knows that adventuring is the best way to do this, and uses her powers to help others.

She decided at age 19 to quit her life at sea and move to land to spread the news of Valkur and explore new parts of the world. She hears about Adventuring Guild at Haven’s Cross and thinks this would be a good place to make gold to support herself plus meet others and use Valkur’s power for good. She befriended a horse at the local stable in Cordon’s Village, naming him Storm Surge and bringing him with her as a reminder of home on her travels.
