Thanks for your response. GM and I agreed that the boss could teleport away since teleporting isn't really 'moving' but more breaking yourself down and reassembling yourself into a different location (or better words to describe teleporting. I've had a long week at work and am shattered, hence the not so descriptive first post)

It was simply whether the dagger would go with the boss upon teleporting or not, which I came to the same conclusion as you did :)

Setting: Me and 3 other players are playing pathfinder (myself and 1 other player are complete newbies to any D&D style game, the other two are fairly versed but not masters or anything) our DM/GM is also a first time DM/GM and is still learning all the rules.

I bought an anchoring dagger at the end of the previous session, and in this session we were battling a boss. I use the dagger on said boss, stabbing him in the back (sneak attack since I'm a rogue) and hold him in place using the anchoring trait. After a couple of rounds the boss teleports out of the room, taking my dagger with him still in his back.

Question: The way teleporting works and the way the anchoring trait is worded in it's description left both myself and the DM in a confused discussion about what should actually happen to the dagger.

Does it get teleported with the boss since it's technically attached to his person, or does it stay floating in the air in the spot where I left it because you can't technically move the weapon unless you break it or make a DC 30 strength check to move it up to 10ft per round? Quote: It remains a fixed point in space.

I also already know that GM word is basically law so I'm content with losing it if that's the decision he comes to, but we were both having a genuine discussion and neither of us actually know what really should happen to it logically.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated, anything like this ever happened before to anyone?
