From our good friends at RGG, I would recommend this.

I am stuck waiting for my normal AP group and needed something to play in the meantime, this fit the bill perfect!

Glad you enjoyed it, Ihudek! Thanks for the shout out.

I was super excited to be able to provide something for Day One support for Starfinder. I'm hoping Blood Space & Moon Dust fits the bill for lots of groups looking for a quick non-AP adventure immediately available for testing out their beautiful, brand new Starfinder heroes - or even a good base to return to for their 2nd level heroes, or 3rd level heroes, or...

Very excited to be a part of this project! Bloodlines & Black Magic is going to give us a game perfectly tailored to scratch an itch I've had for a long time. This is a combination of at least a half dozen of my favorite things.

Steve was my publisher, mentor, cheerleader, and friend for over five years, and nearly everything I've ever written was for him. I owe him so much, and I will miss him dearly. Thanks Liz, and thanks to Paizo for making it possible for 3rd party publishers like Steve to contribute freely and grow the game for all of us.

Happy to see this available on Paizo.com!

Pathfinder roleplaying and its RPG predecessors were a major inspiration for Lost In Dream, which obviously is the child of Coliseum Morpheuon and Faces of the Tarnished Souk, so having the novel available here feels like a homecoming. Thanks Paizo!

For those who haven't read the blurbs yet - Lost In Dream is effectively a Coliseum Morpheuon/Faces of the Tarnished Souk novel, which in turn makes it a 3rd Party Publisher novel, all set on the plane of Dream as imagined by Rite Publishing.

While its 3PP, Rite Publishing offers a high level campaign set in Dreamland called Coloseum Morpheuon (15th - 20th)

For anyone interested in an adventure set in Dream, drawing upon Rite Publishing's Coliseum Morpheuon and Faces of the Tarnished Souk series, the new novel Lost In Dream in now available. (shameless plug, this is my book)

"A man called Rube is on a perilous quest, searching this unhinged land for something more precious than life or sanity – his own lost child. Captive on a black ship crewed by the dreaded Men of Leng, he finds himself crossing the Slumbering Sea in chains, brought face-to-face with a mischievous blue monster who might just be his salvation – or his doom. Struggling to reunite father and daughter, their odyssey past the edge of reality reveals ancient evils, fiendish plots, and a trans-planar scheme which threatens the very foundation of Dream.

Bursting forth from Rite Publishing's epic Coliseum Morpheuon and the high-octane Faces of the Tarnished Souk, Matt Banach's debut novel blends the wonder of Lewis Carroll and the mythos of H.P. Lovecraft to produce a wicked and witty fantasy adventure with a bittersweet heart, testament to the enduring power of a parent's love."

Scatterstone
Aura faint enchantment; CL 3rd
Slot none; Price 800 gp; Weight
Description
This glittering hailstone, the size of a man's eyeball, is always cold to the touch.

The user activates the stone by throwing it at any surface within 30 feet, causing the stone to burst upon impact with a loud thunderclap and a flash of bright lightning. The user and all allies of the user within a 30-foot radius of the bursting stone may take a 5-foot step and may take an immediate action to draw a weapon, ready a shield, retrieve a stored item, or stand up from prone. If any affected allies are flat-footed, they lose that condition.

If the user activates the stone during the surprise round of combat, all affected allies may act in the surprise round even if they would otherwise be unaware that combat has begun.

The 5-foot step granted by the stone does not count against a character's movement for the round, nor does it affect a character's ability to take another 5-foot step later in the round, however a character may only benefit from the effects of one scatterstone per round. Once thrown, if the stone fails to impact a surface within 30 feet it does not burst and falls inert without being consumed. Bursting consumes the stone, leaving behind only a scattering of gritty ice.

Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, tactical acumen; Cost 400 gp

I think all of "you guys" (the prolific posters, Anthony Adam certainly included) are doing an excellent job of shepherding this year's RPGSS boards along. The commentary is just as much a spectacle as the voting itself, and I've seen a TON of great analysis, commentary, support, good humor, and general camaraderie expressed in these THOUSANDS of posts we've seen since Round 1 kicked off.

I'm happy to see Sir William's post, and I don't think there can be much higher praise than that. Kudos, everybody, and let's keep it up as this great big crazy thing just gets crazier...

I'm seeing a lot of items with really neat ways to activate them. Stuff a lot more creative and evocative than a mere command word or 'you turn it on' - not to say that sometimes a simple activation isn't perfectly fine, most of the time it is. Some of the activations are pretty wild, but I'm getting a lot of 'wow, I can immediately picture this being used, and it is cool'. Lots of physical action, lots of dramatic flair.

Let's get some positivity goin', eh?

Thank you, Cheapy.

One thing I'd like to point out is that I can tell that a lot of entries were made by first-timers who love Pathfinder, are excited about the game, and want to contribute to it. They've taken that monumental first step of daring to submit something of theirs to this great big crazy contest, and the simple fact of their participation in the endeavor is something to be celebrated. Regardless of technical foibles or other critiques, everyone who contributes this year - and comes back to contribute again next year - is doing something super.

Huzzah to every single damn person who got up the guts to submit this year. Thank you, and I wish you luck.

Matt and Justin did (as almost always!) a great job! You're very welcome! :D

Yes indeed - Thank You Endzeitgeist for all of your reviews, critiques, and encouragement over the course of the years - and yes, by now it has been over two years since we first launched Ahkar-Kosh, our #1 guy.

The thoughtful feedback you've provided us has shaped and upheld these characters more than you can possibly know - there have been innumerable times during the design process when I've stopped and considered a current project in light of a past review and thought, WWEZGD? (What Would EndZeitGeist Do) And the resulting characters are all a result of this constant push to top ourselves, maintain line quality, and surprise gamers out there who may think they've seen it all.

So yeah, thank you. A lot.
As they say: Your attention to this matter has been greatly appreciated.

Once the top 32 are announced, we all should take the time to focus on and applaud their accomplishment - and watch with great anticipation the later rounds, where the contest truly begins.

If you didn't make the top 32, take the mindset that you might've been #35 or #36, and apply your gumption to making damn sure you're in the top 32 next year. Because even if you're #289, you should apply again next year, and it'd be a damn shame if anyone stopped trying because their number was "too low" (which isn't even a thing, because simply submitting and being a participant in all of this is a worthy act).

Paizo hear my plea! For years I’ve entered this competition and heard that judging was hard. Now I know that judging is hard. I’ve seen the horrible, uninspired submissions that you have seen and now I know and share your pain.

So please Paizo, end our suffering and cut the bottom 33% after one week of voting. And one week after that event cut another 33%.

Maybe it is too soon, but after spending a combined 12 hours judging pairs and finding only 2 items that were superstar, I think and hope that removing the bottom 33% will keep the voting fresh for the remaining voting period.

And deprive the judges of this year's hearty dose of schadenfreude? No, I think not.

We have - collectively - earned this. It's time to wash the dishes our own damn selves, so to speak.

I think that's an important take away. "This is what I did for RPG Superstar" is cool, groovy, and an experience not to be missed (in my not-so-humble opinion). More importantly is "What are you going to do after it?"

Make the "after RPG Superstar" what you want it to be, "win or lose."

+1

That's the great thing about the Pathfinder community. Paizo (as both a corporate entity and a group of individual gamers who love their craft) has done a wonderful job of supporting and encouraging 3rd party publishing and fan contribution to the PFRPG world. It's easy to add to the game you love.

Especially in this socially-networked internet age, there are lots of opportunities out there to generate creative content and easily share them with millions of fellow gamers - instantly and for free. So the question isn't when or how you're going to "get published", the only question is what you're going to put out there.

Just to give everyone a worst case example of what we judges sometimes see in the judging chambers, I just reviewed a submission that clocked in...I kid you not...at 1,137 words. Of that, 335 words were spent on backstory.

Perhaps we have gotten to the point where the RPGSuperstar process has become self-aware, and is now attempting to spite its masters through deliberately outrageous ironic meta-humor, Andy Kaufman-style.

'This entry appears to be a 5,283-word transcript of the pilot episode of Silk Stalkings, mixed with some LOTR Smaug/Bilbo slash fic and half a brownie recipe. In Portuguese. In ALL CAPS. And then they added "-7" at the end, signed it, and then invited us to join Farmville.'

'It gave two judges spontaneous peptic ulcers, killed an endangered species, endangered a non-endangered species, and made Neil's computer smell like old haggis.'
