Ezekiel Bane followed in the footsteps of his ancestors when he became a Hellknight.
His grandfather died during the Red Revolt of Galt.
His father, who escaped that bloody massacre, returned to Cheliax and immediately became a Hellknight himself by joining the Order of the Scourge.
Later, when his father took his mother as wife, of course, (the Hellknights disapprove on unrestrained lust), Ezekiel was born.
Growing up, Ezekiel often listened to the glowing tales told to him by his very proud father… until his tenth birthday when his father was reported missing in action.
Ezekiel’s mother, unable to handle the stress, disappeared.
Thereafter, Ezekiel was raised by the Order.
So it was no surprise that he too entered that Order when he was ready.
His missions for the Order took him to many distant places and always Ezekiel observed the follies of unrestrained freedom. “Freedom without responsibility”, he said, “will rot society as surely as salt water would destroy the finest steel.”
Today, he is headed for Andoran, on a mission again for the Lictor. He was admonished not to draw attention to himself. He was handed a sealed letter for the hands only of the recipient and no other.
