About EvelyndaFrom the frozen halls of the storm giant kings comes a legendary figure, exiled from her people to a prison dimension and determined to create a haven where she can prosper in peace and seclusion. However, her utopian experiment is threatened by a call from the creator-god Arinolus, who convinces her to become involved in a cataclysmic quest to collect the artifacts that will allow him to finally defeat his nemesis Sporaxus. Evelynda lives in a small demiplane that was originally intended as her prison, created by her storm giant relatives. As a noble born of the union of a giant and a human, it was not appropriate for her to grow up with the other giant lords, and she began to show signs at a young age that she did not care to participate in their conquests or stewardship, instead preferring more human pursuits like magic and study. She also demonstrated skill in trolldomur, the forbidden evil magic practiced by her mother, which manifested in her enchanted white hair that seems to have a mind of its own. To resolve both her desire to distance herself from her family and their need to remove her bad influence from their halls, they caused a branch of the world tree to split off from theirs and placed her in her own tiny kingdom within it.
She describes this demiplane as her tower, but it is in fact an expansive domain that stretches approximately 1,500 feet in each direction, with a richly furnished castle sized appropriately to her placed squarely in the center. About two-thirds of the area is ocean, and the top third is rock and air. Outside of the structure the climate is very cold. For most of her life she has lived here completely alone. Her grandfather and other relatives would occasionally visit her when she was younger, but she would behave so deliberately unpleasantly that they quickly grew tired of her company and left her to her own devices. After many years of neglect, Evelynda began to think that they had forgotten about her. Despite the isolation, her exile was not hard, for she had plenty of books to read and despite the cold her island kingdom was bountiful with all types of flora and fauna. Her study of witchcraft has allowed Evelynda to wrest control of her prison dimension away from her captors, and to break out of her tower and travel to the material plane. She still thinks of it as her home (she calls it Tårnheim, or "tower-home"), and she genuinely prefers the solitude to interacting with people, so she rarely leaves and has very little practical experience of the world beyond what she has picked up through scrying and other divinations. Evelynda is now more alone than she realized, for recently the Harbinger allies of the destroyer being known as Sporaxus have found their way to the realm of her gigantic relatives, Jotunheim, and through their nihilistic efforts have completely unmade everything. Evelynda does not know why this happened, but her research suggests it was because of other rebellious elements within the kingdom who courted their own destruction rather than live in subjugation. When she discovered this had happened, her investigation led her to make contact with Arinolus, and she learned that all of creation was at risk, even her orphaned tower in the snow. In exchange for his resolve to keep her and her domain safe, Evelynda agreed to help him track down the artifacts necessary to stop Sporaxus. Since that fateful communion, Evelynda has transformed her island kingdom into an epic training grounds. She created several faithful servants made out of snow and tasked them with helping her prepare. With their assistance, and wisely guided by the presence of Arinolus in the form of a snow angel, she has conjured all manner of creatures to challenge herself and increase her abilities: a veritable mass of beasts for her to best. But after countless hours of practice, she and her otherworldly mentor believe she is close to being one of the heroes he needs to collect the legendary artifacts and save the universe. Description:
Evelynda is over twenty feet tall and built like a brick factory. Her great strength is most evident in her size, for though her body is proportional she has a lot of it. Her incandescent blonde hair is almost white, and she wears it in long, unruly braids that seem only barely held together by light blue ribbons at the ends. She carries no weapons and wears no armor. Three unusually intelligent-looking ravens perch on her shoulders, each wearing what looks like a tiny messenger bag. Apart from her face and neck all of her very pale skin is covered by long gloves and leggings.
