Born and raised in shadowy country of Nidal, serving as an Uskwood Hunter to the sinister Ubral Court, the Shadow touched aristocracy who have ruled Nidal almost since the Earthfall. In ancient times the rulers made a dark pact with a shadowy deity Zon-Kuthon who offered them a simple deal, he would save them form the horrors of the darkness in exchange for eternal obedience.

To this day Nidal citizens live beneath the shadow pact made in the dark days of ancient history.

Erebus works independently serving the Lion Blades as a double agent to the Umbral Court. He despises the Umbral Court and their decadent nobles of Nidal, who rules the land using divinely granted shadow powers over the peasants of the land. The people live in great fear of their noble lords.

As a Lion Blades he trained in the most secretive of schools in the martial arts. Erebus scotffs at assassins, laughing at their poisons and blowguns - equally derisive of knights, stomping about the battlefield in burdensome armor and wielding huge, slow weapons. Erebus prefers crowded areas and is a master of motion, controlling both his own movement and those around him. With a flick of a blade, Erebus can slow his enemy to a crawl and then step into a crowd and disappear from sight.

The unofficial leader of the lion Blades is Dominicus Rell. The master of the Shadow Schools, while in his public life, he is an advisor to the Grand Prince. Rell's official duties consist entirely of training new Lion Blades but he has won the personal loyalty of most of the members. It is supposed that most of the decisions of the faction are made by debate and consensus among the most senior members but Rell often gives a completely different set of personal orders and these orders always turn to be beneficial to the Lion Blades.
