New Question :

If you want to use the power to transform to an Adlet, you SHOULD be able to gain the following traits of an Adlet besides getting +2 to Strength right ? The traits :

-> Immune to cold
-> Weak to fire
-> Night vision, Scent
-> +13 Perception throws
-> +8 Dexterity throws (in the snow)
-> Speed : 12 meters (8 squares)
-> Special Attack : Frozen Breath
-> Languages : Common, Adlet
-> Capacity to move easily through snow

But do you also gain :

-> Bonuses for cacacities throw such as : +20 Survival throws

And while in Adlet form, can you still wield the weapons you are carrying ? Do you still have the same defense stats ? Same will/fort/reflex bonuses ? Do you still have the same caracteristics ? (STR, CON, INT,...). What exactly do you gain, what exactly do you lose..

The traits i listed, and i repeat, should be gained as well, or else that wouldn't make sense, and would not be role play friendly in my opinion..

Oh, oh no.. the possibilities.. down the drain ! Still a really fun power, but not as fun if you could impersonate Monstruous Humanoid creatures, thanks for responding so quickly, it seems this community is pretty active, and keeps the passion real ! Also i find people to be more reliable than the official wikis as they explain some things better haha

So as said in the title,

I'm currently building a Samurai Tiefling with Oni Heritage. As an Oni, he disposes of the Tiefling power : Shapechanger, but some things or limitations of the power are not clear to me, i will explain why by explaining how it actually works :

- Shapechanger : Once per day, the Tiefling can take the form of any creature (Humanoid or Monstruous Humanoid) with the height of (approximately) a grown man, or a goblin/dwarf.
-> If the chosen creature is little (dwarf/goblin), +2 Dexterity
-> If the chosen creature is normal size (human), +2 Strength
-> If the chosen creature has : Nightvision, Dark vision, Scent, Swimming abilities, then the character has it as well.
-> Condition : You have to have a scrap or piece of the chosen creature with you to take form (like a tooth)
-> Duration : 1 minute per level of Tiefling

- Main issue : When you take form of, let's say, a Fishman, you naturally dispose of the ability to swim under water. But if you want to take form of a Sahuagin, do you dispose as well of its ability to communicate with sharks to attack someone ?
-> Here's the thing, if you can use the ability of a Sahuagin, which has a normal height, can you use the ability of a Spriggan after taking form, to grow to a Giant height ?

If you can use the abilities of the creatures you take form into, is there some limitations ? Are there any limitations that i am not aware of ? I'm trying to make a list of possible transformations, the list is quite large and some abilities may seem overpowered, so i wanted to know for sure if i could use them (which would seem natural when you actually become said creature)

(Also, the fact that the power allows you take form of a 'Monstruous Humanoid', i just assumed since it was not specified, because i believe Tieflings are 'Monstruous Humanoids' since they can see in the dark and well, hum, they're demons)
