Enora isn't too surprised by all the bureaucracy. "I needed so many massages to get those tentacle bruises out too. They don't even seem interested in discovering the link to Aspis." She shrugs. "Doesn't matter. We have a name, and we know where to go if we need to dig up some dirt on them."

She checks her coin purse. "Let's go to a bar and get drunk. Who knows when and where I'll be called away next! Come on, y'all." And the smallest member tries to lead the big and strong to enjoy the evening.

"More than enough to solve our mysteries, here." Enora looks through the dossier. "We should report back to the Heidmarch manor. Looks like the local snake has a name. Mavieer Sloan."

"Normally I'd dive right into that spellbook, but I tend to forget these things by the time another adventure rolls around."

Yes, I had a lot of fun. Sorry I couldn't do much during the battle, but that's what Black Tentacles is supposed to do.

"I'm just glad the worst of it is over." Enora looks upon Black and his bizarre creation. "Driven mad by his attempts to create life, he dragged his family down a deep prison they could never escape from."

"May they all find their eternal rest."

"Karn, now's not the time to... er... embrace Hanzi! No matter what Black tells you!"

Enora is glad to be free. Using a point of arcane power, she quickly zips ahead.

Dimensional Slide (70 feet) (Su) Enora can spend 1 reservoir point during a move or withdraw action to step through a dimensional rift, essentially spending 5 feet of movement to move dimensionally up to 70 feet away. The dimensional movement doesn’t provoke attacks of opportunity, though the rest of the move provokes as normal.

Raising her staff, Enora calls out. "I've spent the last... minute getting tossed around by your stupid tentacles. You... and your son, or mother, or whomever I'm speaking to are under arrest!" And with her magic power, she casts Dispel Magic and tries to pry Black's protections away.

Enora will spend another arcane reservoir point to boost her Caster Level by 2.

"Ow! My head!" Enora falls upon the mass of the tentacles as they slip their grip on her.

"At least you didn't tell me to hang around..." Enora wriggles around the tentacles some more.

How much longer will these tentacles last? Black can't be that good of a wizard if he's gone this insane... right?

Enora isn't having a good day. She's too busy mentally cursing out these tentacles to think of a good plan.

"D-D-Damiel! I don't suppose you have a way out of this mess?" Enora spits one tentacle long enough to speak. "I feel like churned butter right now! Can you produce grease or something?"

Enora's had better days. Her hair is a mess, she's bruised pretty badly, and that creepy Mother is still rambling.

All of Black's images should take up the same 5ft square, I moved you into melee. Because Mirror Image is weird, the GM usually figures out which image you hit, so don't worry about that.

Apologies if I'm backseat gaming, here. But Enora doesn't have much else to do.

"Linear Warriors, Quadratic Wizards? Hogwash!" Enora coughs. "Seems like the magic users are stuck at zero while the fighters shoot ahead!"

Come on, Enora. You can do this. Ma and Pa are going to be mad, but... Nethys guide my hand!

Enora draws a wand of Cure Light Wounds. This is going to be a long wait.

I guess we either roll a 20 or the tentacles roll a 1. I have Grease and Liberating Command ready... whenever I get a chance.

Enora continues to struggle, but at this point all she can do is wait.

"Oh, I've read this story before! A woman showed up at your home with a bag full of money. You grew attracted to her and Mother killed her while she was bathing. Now we're the investigators sent to drag your sorry hide in!" Enora coughs as the tentacles squeeze harder.

Enora gladly takes Karn's hand and tries to escape!

"I am so embarrassed! Taken down by some gnarly tentacles! I can't even cast- mmmpf!"

The tentacles crush what's remaining of her barrier and begin to crush Enora directly. "What I wouldn't give for a liberatin' command!"

Enora uses her prescience to alter fate.

Enora tries to break free as the tentacles bludgeon her, she calls upon her Prescience to break free.

Escape Grapple, Shaken vs CMD: 14 + 3 - 1 - 2 = 14

She can't do much without her staff or without time to concentrate.

I don't think I can break free, even if I roll a 20.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 15 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 15 - 2 = 23

Enora throws some glitter on the crazy... whatever. "Hopefully that slowed Black down... oh no, Black Tentacles incoming, ya'll! Try to avoid the-" A tentacle wraps around her mouth.

The protective barrier protects Enora from most of the pain, but she's pinned and her staff of embers is lost in the mass. 5 temp HP remaining.

Right before they enter, Enora uses her Arcane Barrier to protect herself for 7 minutes.

"Hello, mother. I had some questions in mind to ask your son, but I can tell he isn't here anymore." She begins to cast. "It's time for you to sleep."

"Oh, it's locked? One moment." Enora pulls out her spellbook, spends an arcane pool point, and swaps Mirror Image for Knock.

"Hopefully this is a simple door." Through unintelligible words, Enora uses magic to undo whatever locks it shut.

Caster Level check, +10: 1d20 + 7 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 10 = 33
"Alright, that should do it."

Enora groans. "Oh, just open the door. I suppose Chrysalis was the runt of the family. You're suppose to avenge things by becoming president of a world-famous company, not tearing out souls and placing them into dolls."

"That magic on the door. It's a magic mouth spell. To keep it simple, it will speak and deliver some kind of message once we get close enough. I don't have a way to dispel it right now, sorry." Enora shrugs.

Maybe Damiel or Karn will just smash the thing before it gets a chance to creep me out with some ironic nursery rhyme. She shudders.

"If you want to use them, it's all yours, Mykel." Enora shudders. "I'd give it a thorough cleaning first, though."

"I'm sorry..." Enora says to no one in particular. "The slippers... you can climb on walls with them."

"Let's get this over with."

"I'm so sorry..." Enora holds back the tears and raises her staff. Two Scorching Rays erupt from the staff as she turns visible.

I'll aim at Mykel's target first, then whichever one Karn didn't kill.
I'm blessed, invisible and shaken, and these are ranged touch attacks.

Ray 1: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 2 + 1 + 1 - 2 = 16
Fire Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 2, 2) = 10

"We're here to make sure no one screams again. Please, stand aside."

Subtract 2 from my attack rolls, since I'm shaken.

"Creepy dolls... oh my." Still invisible, Enora readies her staff of embers. "Please... we're looking for a Chrysallis Black. Please, we'll help you return to normal. We don't want to hurt you."

Enora will ready herself to use the staff to cast Scorching Ray if any of the dolls perform an offensive action. At the nearest enemy twice.

Enora maintains her magical scans. "Ah, we've done it now. I knew this doll house wouldn't be fun."

Enora nods, and then casts Invisibility on herself.

Stealth: 1d20 + 20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 20 + 2 - 2 = 23
Perception: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 1 - 2 = 12

Enora maintains a light spell on the end of her staff. She almost shrieks as she sees the "woman". "Why did he attack the Heidmarch manse, though? Was he looking to replace... ugh."

She maintains the rear and looks for trouble.

"His mind is truly gone..." Enora frowns as she recognizes the handwriting. "I'm ready, now. Hit the button."

"Unfortunate. Those are all of my advanced spells. We'll have to be careful when we fight the real guy."

More rooms, more scanning. The thoughts of the ruined bodies still ring in her mind.

"Wait!" Enora calls out. "There is a magical alarm spell. Let me try to dispel it first." Enora pulls out a spellbook, makes a few adjustments and replaces her fly spell for Dispel Magic. "Hah, let's see a wizard do that!" And she casts the spell, trying to dispel the alarm effect.

"Flesh golem body parts." Enora speaks without hesitation. "Ew." She's quite upset, especially when she sees the Glyph of the Open Road.

Enora continues to scan for magical auras, moving slowly yet cautiously.

"Ancient Thassilonian. There's something interesting going on, but... hmm. I can't put my finger on it."

"Now magical auras? I'll take a look for that."

"Ah, so no good comes from here!" Enora laughs as her theory is confirmed. "Thank you for your information. I'll tell the authorities you were cooperative, that should reduce your punishment."

She glances at the equipment. "Poisons and weapon enhancements. Not my style. I'm ready to head down when you are."

*Sigh*

"If anyone wants to heal, disarm and restrain Jaelle let's get to it." Enora shrugs. "The sooner we get the info we need, the better."

Enora takes a look around the shop in the meantime, looking for any clues.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

"You know, you could just submit. Now." As Enora says Now, Jaelle hears an Ear-Piercing Scream, dealing 3d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4) = 9 Sonic Damage. It also dazes her. Unless she makes a DC 16 Fort Save. This will also halve the damage.

"As I said, we're here to find Mister Black for attempted assaults against us and one of our superiors. If you're going to obstruct the investigation, hon, well that makes you an accomplice as well."

"I have so many questions, but so little patience..." Enora taps her staff against the ground.

All of this color almost makes Enora retch. "Mister Black is a fugitive from the law, miss. I don't know why you're showing us forged deeds but we really do need to explore this place and learn everything about him that we can. Please, stand aside."

"Oh. This isn't creepy at all." Enora uses detect magic to look for auras.

Enora uses her wand of Mage Armor and keeps her staff of embers ready.

"Well then, that makes sense. If you find anything that generates intense heat, cold, electricity or acid give me a heads up." Enora stows the wand.

"Ready when you are, gentlemen and lady. Let's see if we can find him at the toy house."

"Did you find a wand, Damiel?" Enora scans it for magical auras.

"Oh, it's this wand. Makes sense."

"Yes, I'll take a look."

She looks to Reemis. "Underneath the rug is a pile of dirt someone is using as an Earth Glide tunnel."

"Then let's go. We have a man to catch." Enora pulls out her journal and scribbles notes. "Does anyone need anything from here first?"
