I'm looking for ideas from this awesome community.

I have a player who is planning to go toe to toe with none other than Gorum himself around level 17 or 18.

Since the gods don't usually entertain the thoughts of such silly mortals I think he will make an exception for this character :)

So far I'm leaning towards the PC fighting a construct (since one of Gorums avatars is a suit of armor) that is a CR30 or 40.

I have the set up and the actual battlefield selected and done up I just need help on figuring out the stat block on the opponent.

/cheers/

2 people marked this as FAQ candidate.

I think I have over thought this waaaaay too much so I'll just post the issue and see what feedback I get and see if I'm stupid or not.

I have a fighter who wants to use a spear sized for a large creature (particularly a giant).

For argument sake lets say he has the fighter archetype that allows him to wield a spear in 1h.

Since this spear is a size category larger then him can he wield it either 1h or 2h at a -2 penalty or is it beyond what would be considered a usable weapon?

Has anyone tried the assassin class from the DDI? Flavor wise they seem very good to me but I was wondering if they actually did decent damage enough to live up to the classes title.

I'm just throwing this out there cause I'm a nub at 4e still but at lvl 2 my fighters AC is 21 which feels low to me.

Breakdown:
10(base)+1(1/2 level)+8(Dwarven Scale Mail +1)+2(large Shield)

Stats:
STR 18(+4)
CON 16(+3)
DEX 12(+1)
WIS 14(+2)
CHA 10
INT 10

I used the DDI character builder so it did the math for me but after playing I feel as though too many attacks are slipping through to hit me. Should I have one or two more AC that I'm missing from something?
I do have the feat that lets me add +1 to my AC and REF when I use a shield based power.

So I have a new group starting and for the first time I have a player that is using a summoner. I've never had to deal with animal companions or summons before so I'm not sure where in the phb it has the rules for turn actions available to that player. I really just need know if both he and his summon can act on his turn or if the actions are split up between them both.

Anyone know?

Is it just me or does it take forver to find a PbP game. Is there a trick or particular forum thread to find games or just luck of the draw in this or the PbP section?

So I am running a Kingmaker campaign right now and one of my PCs got the idea that he wants a wolf pet for purely aesthetic value. He is a fighter and plans on staying that way but the problem is he recently knocked out a wolf with subdual damage and now wants to domesticate it and I'm not sure how to do that. The wolf is to old to use rear animal checks on it to domesticate it. Maybe have him make a rear animal check (for DC purposes only) for a few months game time to show his time and dedication to breaking the animal in? I just don't know if I like this approach though as I dont feel it represents the wolf as the lone hunter/wild spirit it is. Maybe I'll have him fight it naked and 'mark his territory' on it instead...

Any suggestions?
