You get the feeling the raven is unusually intelligent, and she indeed carries a spell component pouch. You're fairly certain she's either a wizard or a witch. The frozen north they refer to is Irrisen in the mainland. So she's likely a winter witch.

As you're talking, the half-elf northman by her side doesn't move an inch, other than to reach for his mead as you approach. He's a hulking mass, you didn't think half elves came that tall and brooding.
