"Do you sense any magic Lani?" Eegkokirro asks. "Did you see the dust Kisharn, Mok? It disappeared." The grippli takes a sling bullet and tosses it into the air where the dust disappeared. After seeing what happens he says, "I'll try to disable the trap now. Be ready to jump in case the pit is bigger than I think."

"I'm looking forward to using this in a fight," Eegkokirro says patting the club hanging from his belt. He puts his healing supplies back into his backpack. "I want to gain more insight into fighting these creatures before we leave town." Before leaving town, Eegkokirro would want to buy some herbs and similar things to replenish his healer's kit.

I'll roll to help move things along. :-) Looking at the wounds and injuries of some of the others seeking treatment, Eegkokirro realizes there is more he can do. The grippli applies an ointment of dried mushrooms and roots that help reduce infections. "Why were you fighting? If you can tell me without getting agitated, that is." "Oh, I have herbal treatments that can help," Eegkokirro says. When they arrive at the tent he brings out a small collection of jars, bottles, and linen wrapped ingredients. Thanks Kisharn for organizing the loot. "Sick with other things?" the Eegkokirro asks the elf. He looks a little confused. "Is it related to the illness striking down the humans? We have found evidence that these dark red gems may come from Xatambra. I think that was going to be our next destination."

Eegkokirro admires the boots. "I think these will be very useful to you Mok." "Well done Grisshuk!" Eegkokirro says as they see the dead slimes he killed. At the start of their rest, after bandaging anyone who wants first aid, the grippli heads off to a weapon shop. "I'm getting a sling and a good number of bullets. I prefer fighting people hand to hand, but well..." the grippli shrugs. "Sometimes the situation calls for changing your tactics. Now is such a time. If anyone wants to come along, please do." 1 cp for 10 sling bullets. Eegkokirro will buy 1 sp worth...so 1 Bulk

The grippli looks up at Kisharn with his eyes wide. "That's a good idea. I'm sure there's an empty bag or box in one of the rooms we passed," Eegkokirro says standing up. "Don't open that box until I'm back." Eegkokirro leaves the room and some noise s of rummaging can be heard from the next room. A4's shelves or A6.
M Grippli 6 Rogue HP 63/66 AC 23 Fort +10, Ref +14, Will +12 0 hero points
"So it came from Nex. Stones steeping in a brewed liquid," Eegkokirro says after reading the note and looking at some of the gemstones scattered on the ground. After hearing the noise from the box, Eegkokirro gets closer, nearly pressing an ear against it, trying to determine if it's making noises like an animal, an ooze, or undead. "Let's close the doors so it can't escape the room. When you're ready, I'll open it," Eegkokirro says putting his club on the ground near him as he lightly touches the box. Re-reading my post, I realized I was too vague about the Lore Check. I wondered if Eegkokirro would know about the points marked on the map, like: "Oh, this one is close to a small river. The second point has a lot of animal X around so, we'll be careful there. There's a band of gnolls near the seventh one." I don't expect him to know about every point, but he may know something about some. The information doesn't need to have any bearing in terms of game mechanics.

"I have a feeling we'll be taking a trip soon," Eegkokirro says as he looks at the map. He thinks about what he knows about the region in relation to the locations marked on the map. Recall Knowledge check. Kibwe Lore. Maybe Nature since he lives in the area? (I thought I had stated where Eegkokirro's village is in relation to Kibwe, but I don't see it in his bio. Just a reference to a leshy who lives ten miles east of his village.) Let's keep investigating here before moving on," he rests the club on his right shoulder. "Everybody ready?" Let's go to A9.

Eegkokirro picks up a club and attempts a few test swings. "It's a little heavier than I prefer, but this will be more effective than my sword." He squats and examines the tomb, looking for traps. "Sorry chair!" Eegkokirro says as he wheels around with the chair in his hands and hurries back to the fight. Three steps away from the ooze, he begins to spin, building momentum, so that with his final step, the chair swings around in an effort to slam into the ooze. He lets the momentum carry him away as he makes a tactical retreat fifteen away. 1 action: stride to the ooze
M Grippli 6 Rogue HP 63/66 AC 23 Fort +10, Ref +14, Will +12 0 hero points
"I hope this isn't a mistake," Eegkokirro says opening the door. He sees the table and the chairs in the other room (A2). "If my sword isn't working, time for something new." He sheaths his shortsword while hurrying to the nearest chair. 1 Action: open the door
One more question: Could his sheathe be a possible bludgeoning weapon?
M Grippli 6 Rogue HP 63/66 AC 23 Fort +10, Ref +14, Will +12 0 hero points
I don't know how much gold was left during character creation. At this point, I imagine Eegkokirro running to a weapons shop (doing a Lore (Kibwe) check to find one that would let him trade his weapons for something else). Like his short sword +1 for a light mace +1 and a club. I'd even be willing to try using alchemical bombs even though Eegkokirro isn't trained in them. His ranged attack bonus is +4. Frost vials might be useful, maybe trade his short bow for some vials? I don't think any of his snares would work against an ooze.
M Grippli 6 Rogue HP 63/66 AC 23 Fort +10, Ref +14, Will +12 0 hero points
Ah, I realized I had asked about going to a weapon shop to get other weapons, but in the discussion tab on Christmas. No wonder it didn't get noticed or commented on, nor did I follow up. Please, let's get some bludgeoning weapons. In the future, when playing an ooze-heavy game, I'm probably going to create a PC that doesn't rely on feinting, finesse weapons, and precision damage with the option to poison his weapon. A light mace will at least let him hit...not sure if he'll do any damage. Maybe I should see this as an opportunity to for a character to be played without many optimizations. Like using a club would give him more damage, but be less likely to hit. What's more successful long term? Initiative (Perception): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
M Grippli 6 Rogue HP 63/66 AC 23 Fort +10, Ref +14, Will +12 0 hero points
Eegkokirro adjusts his grip on the shortsword. He should have searched the previous room for any potential weapons. Maybe a broom or a candlestick or have Mok break apart a chair? For now, he will attempt side to side slashing attacks. Perhaps that will inflict more wounds than stabbing it. The grippli scans the room, seeing how the space can be used tactically. He and Kisharn should get on opposite sides of it. For us to do that, I should be there he thinks of the corner, slipping past the chair and along the wall. He stops right by the door, slicing his sword towards the ooze. Action 1: Stride past the chair, around the desk.

A grin grows on Eegkokirro as Lani repairs her tools and succeeds in opening the secret doors. He bows slightly, "Well done! Well done! I'll pay more attention to your techniques next time." He searches for traps as he enters the room.
M Grippli 6 Rogue HP 63/66 AC 23 Fort +10, Ref +14, Will +12 0 hero points
Eegkokirro holds up his two snapped picks. "Well, these had better days. They were the only ones that'd fit in the mechanism to open these doors. Maybe we can keep exploring -- I'll be on the lookout for something that may be replacements." Eegkokirro only has the one set of theives' tools. Is it possible Lani can repair them with mend if she has the spell? If not, let's try A3 unless Mok wants to try to force the door first.

Society: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 Eegkokirro looks over the inventory but quickly moves to the wall. He traces where the seam of the secret door is. "This will be difficult I think." He checks for panels, triggers, or key holes for the door. He then attempts to open the other secret doors. Thievery for A9: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

Eegkokirro salutes Kisharn with the flat of his blade, "Ready for trouble." He motions with his head towards the door so Mok and Lani know where he and Kisharn are going. Assuming the room is empty, Eegkokirro will listen at the doors to A8 (on the map) next.

"Hold on, hold on," Eegkokirro says as he tinkers with the device. "It's magical and hard to disable." The grippli takes a deep breath, let's out a low croak, and practices in the air how he plans to render the trap useless. After a few times, he takes another calming breath. "If anyone wants to go into the other room, now's the time." He waits to allow anyone to seek safety in the other room then proceeds with another attempt at the trap. Thievery: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
M Grippli 6 Rogue HP 63/66 AC 23 Fort +10, Ref +14, Will +12 0 hero points
Eegkokirro hears Kisharn's discovery of the trap and leaves the doors where he was listening. He hurries along the shelves lining the wall and squeezes past Kisharn and Mok to disable the trap. He takes some tools from his backpack that help in making traps harmless. "Let's see what we have here," he says getting closer to the trap. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28
I think three actions of movement will get Eegkokirro from where he was at the northern doors to the trap if time is an issue.

"Well, I'm glad you're here," Eegkokirro whispers as they start to explore the next room. "Should we split ourselves between the doors, or all go through that one?" Eegkokirro asks pointing towards the northern door leading east. He softly steps to the doors and presses his ear against one of the doors. Perception check please.

"Unless we want to fight two oozes, we should leave by a back door," Eegkokirro says. "Or a window," he adds before looking at Mok, appraising the likelihood of the orc escaping through a window. "Grisshuk!" Eegkokirro says, "What are you doing here?"
M Grippli 6 Rogue HP 63/66 AC 23 Fort +10, Ref +14, Will +12 0 hero points
Eegkokirro nods drawing his shortsword, "I doubt oozes knock. Cover me please," He goes to the front door and opens it a crack, revealing just half his face. "I'm Eegkokirro. Can I help you?" he asks with a pleasant tone. If he sees a human, he adds, "Sorry, for your protection, you need to stay right there."
M Grippli 6 Rogue HP 63/66 AC 23 Fort +10, Ref +14, Will +12 0 hero points
"I hadn't thought about that," Eegkokirro admits. "Khalibi hopefully is safe deeper in the interior." The grippli finishes his treatment on Kisharn and starts stitching Mok's wounds. When we've witnessed people become oozes, what happens to their clothes and jewelry? For example, if we find boots that probably fit a dwarf and a clan dagger we would know that ooze was mostly likely a dwarf. Damage healed for Kisharn: 2d8 ⇒ (2, 7) = 9
Maybe we should go to a temple for magical healing?
M Grippli 6 Rogue HP 63/66 AC 23 Fort +10, Ref +14, Will +12 0 hero points
Eegkokirro's cheeks puff in and out more than normal as he recovers from the fight. "My usual style of hitting joints and pressure points is worthless against creatures without those," the grippli says. "Good team work though. Does anyone need help binding wounds?" He climbs onto the table to look at the map better. Maybe twenty is realistic.

This a time when my ignorance really makes my PC not as effective. If I had known oozes had their damage reduction to slashing and piercing weapons, I'd have given Eegkokirro a light mace. In a way though there are plenty of times in life when I have not been prepared for the situation in hand. So, that's where Eegkokirro finds himself. Maybe they can run to a weapon shop real fast and get some bludgeoning weapons? Also in some combats, Eegkokirro can apply poison to Kisharn's weapon too, especially if they are standing next to each other at the start of combat.

Thanks for refunding Eegkokirro's turn. Eegkokirro gives a sigh of relief as the ooze collapses and sags as it greets death. He hurries past Mok and Kisharn to listen at the next set of double doors. Glancing at the golem, but not thinking about it much since it hasn't attacked. I think 2 Actions will take him to the doors and he'll do a Perception check once he's there. If the golem was a natural creature, I'd have Eegkokirro do a Recall Knowledge check, but since it's not, I think another action may be better spent.

Eegkokirro is a little surprised to see the ooze so close to the door.
