Greetings once again good folks on the Paizo forums. This month I am back again asking you to help contribute to the world and community of Starfinder. It is well known that the operative's Trick Attack is a powerful and effective tool on the battle field. Our Goblin Operative, Bumfuzzle, has been employing these attacks to great effect, but, he is running out of ideas on how to flavor his Trick Attacks. So this month we are going to help out all of Starfinder's Operatives by collecting as many flavorings of the Trick Attack as we possible can.

For full rules and details you can head over to cosmiccrit.com. To summarize Bumfuzzle’s trick attack is based of his Engineering skill so you are encouraged to connect that to your trick attack as much as possible. However, this is not a requirement. A wacky and fun idea is equally valuable and encouraged. Your trick attack should explain what Bumfuzzle does but it shouldn’t try to explain any reaction or effect on a enemy, as that is decided by the dice roll. A example of a possible entry is below:

"From a rear pocket Bumfuzzles pulls out a small toy, it's a robo-dinosaur, strapped to a tiny rocket on a stick. He lights it up and it shoots off in a odd display of either poor or expert aerodynamics."

So go ahead and get as creative and crazy as you can! Embrace your inner MacGyver and show us how innovative and ingenious trick attacks can become!

Hello Starfinder Community,

Once again it is Cosmic Crit here, a Actual Play Starfinder podcast, and it is time for another fan challenge! Season 2 has just kicked off for us and we are playing through Again the Aeon Throne! If you couldn't/didn't tune in because of not wanting Dead Suns spoilers then now is the best time to join in on the fun and become apart of the crittermander community.

Join the Discord here: Cosmic Crittermanders.

For this month we are creating our own Critical Hit deck to help supplement the Official Critical hit deck created by Paizo. You can find all the rules for the competition here on our website: Cosmic Crit "Critical Hit" Competition

To summarize, we are looking for people to come up with their own creative critical hit cards that we can use on the show. These can be as wacky and crazy as you can imagine as long as it follows the same format as the official Pazio cards.

An example of what we are looking for has been re-created below:

– Energy Damage-
Name: Power Drain
Bonus Effect: Any energy attacks the target makes in the next 1d2 turns are underpowered, and take a -2 to hit and -2 to damage

-Kinetic Damage-
Name: Loose Marbles
Bonus Effect: The target is beaten about the head, and is off-target for 1d4 rounds

-Spell Damage-
Name: Summoned Ally
Bonus Effect: You gain the benefits of Summon Creature 1 on your next turn picking a random creature to aid you.

-Extreme Blow: Electric-
Name: Jolted Stance
Bonus Effect: The target gets a surge of juice down their spine and is staggered for 1 round.

The contest will run for the entire month of March. You can send your submissions to cosmiccrit at gmail.com or you can post them here! Good luck and thank you to all who participate.

In Wrikreechee culture, a "Zorkfeld" is a person who claims to be an expert, but who actually knows either nothing about it or worse, actively harmful wrong information.

Example 1:

"So this ysoki comes up to me and tries to sell me an aftermarket Drebulon R drift stabilizer, but everybody knows those got recalled after the Corpse Fleet figured out how to remotely overload the Drebulon R to blow out your life support. Everyone uses Drebulon Qs now. What a Zorkfeld!"

I don't know if its becuase your example uses a Ysoki or what but this sounds like a great insult to use against Gnak. Thank you for the submission and fuel against Drew.

Not for the contest, but for fans of the idea:

I've explored this concept a couple of times over on my blog.

Oh man I love this. I really want use "Walking Suitcase" on a Vesk sometime. Plus I might have to use some of those Vesk exclamations for Edrass. "By the three blades" sounds pretty sweet.

Greetings Starfinders, its Tyler from Cosmic Crit. I wanted to share a rules discussion we've been having as players recently and I thought maybe other groups might have had similar issues.

Our Solarian, Rebecca, is looking forward to 9th level when her Supernova ability will increase in radius from 10' to 15'. Due to the wording of the ability there was some talk about whether the increase was a permanent increase or if the Solarian could chose whether her blast was 10' or 15' at the time of activation.

We were split on the interpretation so we contacted awesome man Owen K.C. Stevens and asked for his clarification. According to him the blast radius is optional meaning the Solarian can chose for it to be 10' or 15' or 20' at the appropriate level. This is pretty awesome and really helpful for those encounters where space is limited.

So there it is. I wonder if any other groups have had similar discussions? If so, I hope this small piece of info helps others in the future.

This is an amazing contest idea. I can’t wait to see the winning entries.

Thanks! I will be sure to post the winners here as well for this challenge so everyone can see them.

Pronk and Fleem have become cornerstones of the “bad” words we use on the show. But in a universe as large as Starfinder’s, there are a multitude of cultures, all with their own swear words and exclamations. This month, we challenge you to create expletives fit for use in the Starfinder universe. Show off your creative use of toilet language and you could earn a prize (along with a bar of soap in the mouth).
Send Us Your Swears!

Send an email to cosmiccrit@gmail.com with your submission, and include the following:

The Word – Hit us with the swears! These can be single words like “Pronk” but also expressions to get your point across like “By my Vesk Scaly-Tail!” Enter as many times as you’d like.

Create the Culture (Optional) – Swear words are a part of many cultures, so include how your cuss word or expression is a part of a local environment. Is the swear word in Common or some other language? Is it a new trend or old archaic curse? How severe or insulting is the word? Does your swear word have any historical context? No matter how your word fits in it should feel ingrained in the area which it was birthed in. Bad words from Akiton shouldn’t feel the same as those which come from Verces.
Prizes

At the end of the month, the Crew will vote on the #1 mother of all swears. The grand-prize winner will receive a gift from the Cosmic Crit store, and our runners up each get a Starfinder PDF worth $10 from the Paizo online store.

Guidelines for Submitting

By submitting to this challenge, you give us the right to use your submitted work/piece on Cosmic Crit and distribute it for free.

To receive a gift for your selected submission, you must have an active Paizo account and provide that to us after we use your submission on the show. Please include how you would like to be contacted and credited for your winning submission. Submission can be sent to us via our gmail account, cosmiccrit@gmail.com.

Please nothing offensive or mean-spirited. Be kind and nice to your fellow Shirren and Lashunta.

Hi Starfinder Messageboard,

We're Cosmic Crit, a Starfinder Actual Play Podcast, and we are playing through Dead Suns and if you've listened to us we
humbly thank you. Every month we get the community involved by asking for submissions to our Fan Challenges, from Starfinder players and our fans alike. For May we want to bring out the big guns and help add more May-hem to the Pact Worlds and beyond.

If there is one thing most players excel at it is creating chaos and destruction on the battlefield. We want our fans to help super power that destructive creativity by supplying players with the craziest and most brutal weapons ever conceived. These weapons shouldn’t just be about random destruction but should have a creativity in both their ability to deal damage and in their special abilities.
Head on over to theCosmic Crit website to read more.

Here is an example of a submission:

Boomshield: This one-handed advanced melee weapon was developed by dwarves to help defend their mining locations form natural predators and pirates. When activated this large circular shield secretes a highly explosive gel along the edge of the shield. The user can determine what edges emit the gel using controls along the Boomshields handles. The gel's explosive power is unleashed whenever it hits another object with enough force. The explosion functions like a blast attack and does not harm the user. The shield also grants the user a +1 bonus to EAC and KAC.
Item Level: 7
Cost: 5,000
Damage: 2d8 F
Critical: Knockdown
Bulk: 1
Special: Block, Blast, Powered (Capacity 40, Usage 2)

You can submit by posting them below, e-mailing us at CosmicCrit@gmail.com, or by shooting them to us on our Twitter or Facebook pages. Thanks in advance, we can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Alright then, spur of the moment new Fan Challenge! When Edrass gets turned into a pair of magical boots for Gnak to wear what magical properties would the boots have?

+2 to Survival checks? The ability to roll a natural 1 once per day? Maybe it's a cursed item? -4 to saving throws to avoid getting impregnated by alien monsters?

At least if Edrass became a pair of boots he would still be in the show after his demise. Yay!

Holy Cow People!!

These are all really great and I've loved reading through them all. Although now I am swamped with negative conditions, ability damage, and space termites. I need to go lay down.

I have no idea how I am going to survive all these but I still can't wait to see them employed in the show.

Thanks for helping grow the show and keep on being great contributors.

Ty/Edrass

Thanks for the Kudos!

I agree that sometimes we as a crew tend to overthink things and try to learn more information using rolls then just by role-playing or taking action. Edrass is a lizard of action!

Feedback like this is awesome and it is what helps create the community and improve the podcast. Thanks again and being Mustachioed!

Space Howdy Everyone!

So Cosmic Crit Episode 005 is now available!

This was an insanely fun episode to record. Of course all of our episodes are fun to record but I especially enjoyed this one. I think all of us on Cosmic Crit are getting more and more comfortable with the setting and our first ever space characters.

All of you listening in are the best and thanks again for adding to fun of creating this podcast.

Keep rolling 20s out there ya'll. Edrass out.

As I said earlier I loved the whole character intro session, a nice way to info dump the Absalom station setting without being too "infodumpy".

As I'm starting my campaign this way too next week, I made a little Syrinscape campaign to have music at my finger tips for the various scenes.

https://syrinscape.com/account/campaigns/8403-970e47567e/

I even blended the cyberpunk disco soundset with the tavern brawl soundset to create mood for the fight in the hud bar.

Oooh! This is super kick butt space opera awesome!! Thank you for creating this! I will definitely use this in future episodes. Keep a ear out for it!

To add a little here, at the end of Episode 3 we are starting a new small segment called, "Crit Bits." Don't forget to stay tuned after the normal ending to listen in.

In these segments you'll learn more about our characters, their backgrounds, and maybe even see some consequences to our character's ridiculous decisions.

Keep rolling 20s ya'll

"Let's have a Fist FIGHT!!!" Love the show guys, highly entertaining Thanks for making my Los Angeles commute bearable. Can't wait to throw down in my own Starfinder game.

I am glad we can be there to help with the commute. Getting to finally start our Starfinder game was amazing because I had been jonesing for it for so long. Tweet or email us when you have epic Starfinder moments once you get your own game going. The 2nd best thing to playing Starfinder is hearing other people's great stories.

Hi ho! This is Tyler/Edrass from Cosmic Crit. Thanks to everyone who has already checked out the podcast or is going to check it out.

It has been a blast putting out this content for people. I wish we could record everyday though. It is really hard to wait a whole week to play Starfinder.

If anyone has any questions of my character or the podcast in general please throw them out there. I will answer everything!!

Keep rolling 20s y'all.
