I never said it was metric, just that it has no bearing on what a medieval / fantasy currency was like. Pointing out that using a modern (decimalised) currency system is no more immersion breaking that using a modern measurement system (metric). I do agree that as the US is using imperial / decimalised that is what pathfinder will use. I use metric on a daily basis and have no problem adjusting to using imperial when gaming. ![]()
So do you find decimalised currency immersion breaking? 1pp = 10gp = 100 sp = 1000cp is nice for us to deal with but has no reflection on what medieval currency would have been like. We adopt decimalisation for convenience. The same argument could be used for using metric units for distance / weights. ![]()
I noticed that alright. It's just something I have been very aware of this last season as the reception in my local store is awful (making prd access difficult) so I've been carting in all the books required. Having read through it I am looking forward to running and possibly re-running it (the mechanics for that look sound). Reads well so hopefully plays well too. Will post a review after the 7th! ![]()
Just bought this and I have yet to run it. I am once again disappointed by the volume of books required to run the scenario (Core Rulebook, APG, ARG, Bestiary 1-4). Seems to be that if I want to run two season 4/5 games at a con or my local gaming store I have to bring half my gaming shelf. Not to mention that my local gaming store here in Dublin doesn't have Bestiary 4 in stock yet. |
