i'd like to thank everyone for your help with my problem. i have alot to think about and alot to roleplay out.

so for a final tally.

ring of mind blank. expensive. no save.

amulet of undetectable alignment. in my price range. no save.

which leave me as a nutral alingned when they try there detice evil, and yes the smiting thing might be a problem, but i'll deal with that when it happens.

nidho wrote:

Ring of Mind Blank maybe? Wow, that ring is going to be quite expensive, like 120,000gp.

It will certainly mask your alignment like the amulet and much more.

What level is your PC now, by the way? Killing gods smells of epic levels to me.

right no lvl 10, but by the time we get to the final boss i should be 23-25, then when i get the weapon i need to kill the gods i should be close to 30.

is there any saves vs the ring of mind blank.

Depending on the wits of the players you can't fool a cleric or paladin once they get suspicious. A hearthy clap on the back spiced with Smite Evil from the paladin or a Holy Smite spell from the Cleric would reveal your alignement.

But actually you don't have to change or hide your alignement. As long as you seem reluctant to kill(at least when the darned do gooders ar around) and grudgingly heed their advice they might be considering you as their personal challenge instead of a menace to be dealt with.

so your saying my best bet is to chat with the pally and "take there advice." and maybe they might tolarate me a bit more then they do know. cause i have felt the lovely touch of a holy smite. but due to the setting were in they need my guy around. were the chosen ones. and the fact i'm vasharn, and they don't know since my race was nearly wiped out many years ago by one we call jack(my dms worls) and i've played my self into a corner too by not accepting the help from the gods (healing) bt that is cause i plan to kill the gods and if everything goes right in our compaine i will end up with a weapon that will let me acheive this goal.

there is an item i came acros reading the books. a ring of mind something.(i'm at my gf's book nowhere near me) it protects me from any mind affecting spell, detection, scrying, and a few other things. i can't figure out if there is a save for that one tho.

and i know i can't just change my alingment over night, i do have a plan that i think will work, cause thepally is trying to get me to repent my sins, so i'm going to have a hear to hear with him, and bond and what not. the nexxt day put on said item, they try and detect me and wow no more evil.

i'm just trying to bypass the detece evil. i can do nutral!

Amulet of Indetectable Alignment:

Neck slot, continuous effect(Undetectable Alignment)
Spell level 2(cle) x caster level 3 x 2,000 gp /2(24h duration spell)= 6000gp

That could be another option.

you also mentioned a save, i'm still kinda new to all this and was hoping ya might explaine that a bit more. how would that hinder me and what not.

Hmm. If I'm reading the original poster correctly, he doesn't really want to change alignment; he just wants to "read" as good-aligned. So a Helm of Opposite Alignment is probably not what he's looking for in that it would produce a real alignment change to Chaotic Good, and one that he would not want to change back to Lawful Evil.

An Amulet of Undetectable Alignment would conceal his alignment, but he should be prepared to answer questions as to why he's not reading as anything.

Is there another magical item that provides the effect of a Misdirection spell? Then he could "read" as one of the other party members for purposes of a Detect Evil spell, though not for Know Alignment. Not really a perfect solution either.

Ideally, there would be a spell that not only hides one's alignment, but actually makes it appear to be something else.

right i don't want to change my alingment, i want to fool them.

and another is right i can't just change my alignemt over night, but i do have a plan to make one think i have changed. the pally has been trying to get me to change my ways, so i'm going tio have a "heart to heart" with him. that night put on said item, then the next day the pally tryed to detect evil on me and wam i'm not evil, he's reformed me and there singing the prases of the gods.

hey all,
in my current campaine, i'm plying a lawful evil vasharn fighter. i'm grouped with a lawful good pally and lawful good cleric. i need some kinda item i can use that will either change my alingment agains detect aligment spell. so that way my party will "trust" me. cause at this point they need me so there not killing me. :)

Are you playing 3.5 or Pathfinder RPG rules? There have been five adventure paths that are what I think you're looking for, but which rules set you prefer will determine which of them I would suggest to save you time on conversion.

were using a 3.5 book but using pathfinder rules. the book is called elder evils.

Which books are you currently using, knowing that will help us answer your question accurately and with better recommendations?

all i know about the book is there is 10 chapters, each one has the same result. if the heros don't win the world there on is distroyed.

but it has everything, the dc for the checks to know information about the final boss, a timeline, the end game map, and all the enemeys we must fight before fighting the final boss.

hi all,
me and my friends are playing from a book right now that has everything you need to know about the advnture we are on. i was woundering id the Pathfinder - Campaign books are like the one we are useing, cause i'd like to DM for my friends and give out full time Dm a break, but last time we did this everything went kinda wrong. so i was hoping these books might be like the one we are using. where they have a preset advunture for the players to go on, with a time line and what not. hope this makes since to someone and they can help me out.

This may seem counter intuitive, but my group is starting a game tomorrow with characters beginning at 0-level--the idea being that they are youths, yet to enter their respective classes. I'm just curious if anyone else has done this, and if so, how they implemented the idea. Thanks.

yea me and my friends have done this before too. we started at .5 lvl in our class. it was the only way we could figure out how to make anything like that work. as far as exp went, we needed 500 exp to become lvl 1, then 1000 exp for lvl 2 exc. it's kinda fun. you have half everything. so half HP, skills,. . . . . well i hope i have helped.

i like, thx for the help.

the Vasharn are a race in the book of vile darkness. (sumup = vasharn are to humans as drow are to elfs)

as far as my currnet city i'm in. it's the larges city on the content i'm on. i'm all ready a bounty hunter. but i'm not finding my self really being evil on my hunts. unlike my assisan i would sometims be very rutless in my attempts to get information out of victoms before killing them. oh yea. i'm teamed up with a Mino ranger.

hello all,
it's been a while since i posted here, but i need a little help. i'm playing a campaine where my char is a Vsharn fighter. and well vasharn are evil by nature, and needless to say most of my guys life has been spent on the brink of death. so i've had little time to be evil. but now i'm finaly at a point in his life where i can surive more and wish to take on a double life if it were. but unlike my Assisan (only other evil char i have ever played. and was pretty simple.) i can't think of any ways a fighter can preform evil acts with out getting my self killed. any help?

thx for your time and any advice ya can give. and sorry my spelling and gramer blows chunks. i do know this and am to lazy to fix it.

ok so what do you guys think my best attack of all this is. cause my end goal with this guy is to fight the gods (god love fighting ECL 50 Gods) and i want to be intimidating. of course my first thought is running into battle with 2 oversized great swords would scare the crap out of most people i see. but due to feats and misreading that idea is down the drain. my normal DM says seeing a human sized creature running into battle with a over sized great sword in 1 hand will be quite intidmating and should go shild. but i like the thought of having 7 swings of my sword at 18th lvl(where i plan to test my skills and slay a dragon alone, oh god i got big dreams) and do XdX dmg +8 (weapon feats and str mod) and maybe kill the dragon in 2 rounds before he kills me. if i go say 1 weapon and shild won't my dmg out put be halfed?
I'm looking to make a pure DMG output type of char.

With the bastard swords you are getting 2d10+1 1/2 Str Mod (1 for main hand and 1/2 for off hand) in damage along with a -2 to attack and you have to make 2 attacks. That's using 3 feats, also. You could get EWP(Fullblade) and do 2d8+1 1/2 Str modifier with one attack, with no penalties, and it leaves you with some open feat slots. A fullblade is about 7 feet long total, and it is basically a bigger Bastard sword.

how am i saving feats that way. i'm just changing monkeys grip for exotic weapon proficiency.

so a lvl 1 vashar fighter
feats
exotic weapon proficiency
Over Sized 2 weapon fighting
Disciple of darkness
Two weapon Figting (extra feat from being shaky Unearthed Arcana)

Hunterofthedusk wrote:
There seems to be a metagame logic behind tweaking it so that you can only use the one weapon. In my mind, if you have monkey grip, two weapon fighting, and oversized two weapon fighting, you should be able to wield another weapon just as easily as a shield. If you can't ever have a character wield two gigantic weapons just because some person thought that it was ridiculous, then I don't know what to believe in anymore. I say damn the rules! If it feels good, do it!

wish i could. but dm won't let me carry around the swords. oh well guess i'm using 2 bastard swords.

Razic wrote:

I am dissatisfied with the way feats work in D&D. It bugs me that when creating a character one generally must be overly careful or risk 'wasted feats'... I'll skip to the point.

I want characters who make ration decisions about their immediate future. Perhaps feat X will be useless at level 20, but often it can really help get you through level 6 alive. Furthermore, it is terribly annoying to have to take non-wanted prerequisites in order to get the feat you really want.

Feats are not created equally, so doing away with prerequisites would be ugly. Thus I would like to develop/find a point-buy feat system. Instead of the current system, characters would gain a class-dependent number of feat points per level. These can be used at level up to purchase the feats they care about.

I'd leave BAB and Stat prerequisites, just remove the feat tree. Clearly some feats improve directly on others (great cleave) - they would be taken sequentially.

Has anybody experimented with this yet?

well look at invidible blade. you need point blank shoot and precise shot, or something stupid like that for a melee class. go fig, but to answer your coment about the taking a feat that will help ya live through till lvl 6. after ya are done with the feat, through tranning you can relarn different feats\skills. i wish i could remember what book it's all in, cause it's something to look at.

Hunterofthedusk wrote:
naw, I don't feel like looking for my PDF. I do remember them very vaguely after you mentioned the BoVD, but I overlooked them when I read it the first time.

not only that. but the want to se the god killed. witch is kinda funny, cause my last char is the god of mercs. and my frind has this new book, hr's calling it a world killer. so i think if i can surive this i'll be able to kill the gods. :)

and to boot my friends last char was a Demi Lich, and nearly killed all Vashar on the planet. and we blame the gods for it. to bad his demi lich is on the far plains now.

Hunterofthedusk wrote:
Which book are you getting it from, because I know the feat was reprinted a few times

Complete warrior is the book. you read up on the Vashar yet?

Hunterofthedusk wrote:

you could monkey grip and wield one bigger greatsword, or monkey grip+two weapon fighting to wield 2 regular greatswords.

Me and my group have gone over the rules extensively on this subject, because I had a player that wanted to wield the biggest... weapon... possible. I think he had gotten up to a huge greatsword, or something crazy like that, using a Warforged and some really weird combos

the last line in monkeys grip says one can't use a weapon in there off hand. dam it all. i really wanted to kill the gods. now i must find a new way.

Hunterofthedusk wrote:
I'm not familiar with Vashar; are they medium or large?

they are to human as drow are with elfs.

but now i have to rethink my hole build cause i missed somethink in Monkeys grip :(

the Vashar are in the book of vile darkness just so ya know.

OMG that is quite large. well maybe i'll stick with just normal great swords. that should be intimidating enough :)

JoelF847 wrote:

Unless you're using some feat or power I'm not aware of, you can't use 2 greatswords (unless you're a Xill or Thi-kreen and use 4 arms.) Monkey grip lets you use a weapon 1 size category larger with a -2 attack penalty, so you could use a large greatsword, or a large bastard sword (if you have the exotic weapon proficiency for them) and a shield. You can't use the feat for an off hand weapon.

If you play a half-giant or goliath or other race that has the powerful build feature, you could even use this feat to use a Huge greatsword, or Huge bastard sword.

ok more info. (for my simple question of how big is the sword) i have 2 weapon fighting, over sized 2 weapon fighting. and me and my DM have all ready be over weather i can do it. he wants to know how big the swords are to see if i can sheeth them or even walk around with them crossed on my back.

Hello everyone, my friends started new campain, and i decided to creat a Vashar Fighter. my plan is to take monkeys grip with two weapon fighting. (and some day kill the gods with this combo :)) but my DM is asking me where would i keep these blades. well i don't have an answer cause i don't know how big a Great sword for a large creature is. and i can't find it in any book i have access to. so my question is now big is a great sword for a large creature??

thx for the help

hi everyone, i just started a new campain with my friends. and i created a Vashar Fighter with monkes grip. so i'm looking to use 2 over sized great swords. my only question is how big is a great sword for a large creature?
