![]() With my group it was a TPK in a couple rounds. I decided to GM fiat one of the players had grabbed the sword during the fight and that caused the tower to collapse. Since we're a very tight knit group I allowed the players to decide which one of them lived and they unanimously allowed their captain to survive. ![]()
![]() One could also argue that the crew isn't comfortable drinking said "magic water." Another idea could be that a ships crew would still want "real" water so they don't have to rely on the cleric to get it. What would happen if said cleric started using the water creation as a power play to become captain or some such? What if he died? It seems to me a valid reason to have the crew request that the ship keep stores of fresh water. ![]()
![]() I ran into the same problem with my group. We're on book six and each player has had no less than four character deaths. They created a persona called the crowned captain and had a black crown specially made. It's like a shout out to the dread pirate Roberts from the princess bride. We also agreed that since there are many days at sea and pirates love stories that each new character would hear the tale of how they got their ship and how terrible Harrigan was. This way we could continue the story and not feel too much pressure with keeping certain meta gaming knowledge from the table. ![]()
![]() I also gave Druvalia boots of haste so she could fire all four barrels of her pepperbox upgraded crossbow. I also changed the paralictor by giving her a shield and axe and the arrow shield feat. Her shield also had arrow attraction on it to throw a wrench at my groups zen archer and gunslinger/fighter. It was an awesome fight. ![]()
![]() My group lost the sea battle by a landslide but took out druvalia and the paralictor to win the victory. Their ship was sunk afterwards with all hands lost but the PCs wizard teleported himself and the other officers back to the island of empty eyes before they met Besmara at the bottom of the ocean. ![]()
![]() Staves still can be recharged, allow for your caster level to be used and can have meta magic feats applied to the use of the spells therein. A wand with multiple spells wouldn't be game breaking IMO but RAW would be one spell per wand. In my home game I'd allow it though. Also. Duct tape does exist in pathfinder. See sovereign glue. :P ![]()
![]() The way I see it is, detect evil:
The difference is when a Paladin detects evil in a specific target in which he would gain all the information given from rounds 1-3 and as such could determine if individuals below 5HD are evil. Now talking about detect=smite pallies. Just because a target is evil should not automatically trigger an aggressive attack. Paladin's should be smart enough to realize that evil is not black and white and individuals may be having a bad day.
