As Dolnam is at his computer one night, doing another editing pass on what he has written that day, the screen suddenly wavers and dissolves. The screen takes on the appearance of an old green phosphor screen and begins to type out a message with that very old fashioned green rectangle moving to reveal each letter.

Maghnus, you have hitched your fish to the wrong wagon. Abandon the so called Justice League now. Write your novel, enjoy your life, and represent the Tuatha. Your ancient gods have no wish for you to be a tool in the subversion of the human race by a group of fascists and decepticons. If you need a reason to listen, here you go:

At that, the screen is filled with images of you in your normal life, the girlfriend, bank accounts, footage of the fight with Starro, and you shopping for groceries.

Maghnus tries to type back.

"Who is this? And why do you have cameras miles underwater in nondescript parts of the ocean?"

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

Dolnam will deliver Manta to Atlantis himself, and will attend the trial whenever it is set.

Without any major crises at hand, he will resume his identity as Maghnus, spend some time with his girlfriend Melissa, and resume writing his novel.

When he has a chance, he will call on the Hall of Justice, and see about potentially joining the League as their liaison under the sea.

Dolnam snaps a finger, and an elaborate cage of force constructs itself around Manta. His hands and feet are encased in globes, then trapped inside larger globes, keeping them together but separate. Lines of force run between them, drawing Manta's arms and legs behind his back and holding them rigidly there while he is also muzzled, blindfolded, ears covered, and uncomfortably scrunched by the restraints.

The restraints are tethered at multiple points of contact to the inside of another sphere of force, tethered and nestled inside a cube, and then a diamond. All three shapes spin independently, keeping Manta disoriented for the trip. The cage moves wherever Dolnam moves, maintaining a distance of 15 feet from him at all times.

Spending another point of Luck on Crate Object 11 (with the Tether and Precise Feats).

"Thank you for your aid."

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

Toughness: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26

Dolnam is rocked by his own attack, though not in nearly as bad a shape as his target.

He manages to send out: <"Hit the creature while it's stunned! Finish it!">

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

Dolnam steps out of the sub, and practically vanishes from view, leaving an underwater sonic boom in his wake.

He circumnavigates the globe once, twice, four times and on the fifth lap he lays into Lord Starro, Slamming the Dagda Spear into whatever looks like its most vulnerable spot.

Slam Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27

Initiating a Slam, which presumably hits for a save DC of 46 (Damage rank 12 plus 4 from Slam (with Accelerated Move) plus a further +15 speed modifier from Swimming). If this doesn't do anything, combo attack it is!

'Fine. Mr. Dolnam, what's yer plan? Gonna arrest them? Maybe read them their rights? How about a public defender? Go ahead, try and puts cuffs on either of those bad boys right there. Good luck with that.

Oh, brief civics lesson: We're in international waters. Exactly which country's laws have they broken? And which court shall they be tried in? Got the extradition orders all set? You're thinking that UN aren't you? Nope, we're not acting on a voted-and-approved UN Security Council order, they don't gotta do jack. And where you gonna keep Lord Starro until we work out the jurisdiction? Gonna just pop him into Gitmo Cuba? OR are the Northy-norths gonna hold them in a wet thatch hut?

Just to be clear, is Kara intentionally missing that he specifically said don't kill MANTIS (nothing about the Starro) or...? =)

"I care nothing for the fate of the Starro. As neither human nor Atlantean they are not beholden to or granted the protection of our laws."

"Mantis, however, has committed multiple crimes against the people of Atlantis and Tierna No Oge. He should stand trial for his actions."

Imagine smiles as so many healthy boys sample her sweet, sweet medicine. 'And, hey, I just wanna say, before we all die, that working with you all has been totally awesome...since you all get to SO give me credit for ordering the Leviathan's destruction! Wasn't that totes smart of me to call that in? I mean, imagine what this would look like if we had to fight that thing AND Leviathan, amirite?

Oh, hey, Sinter, since you're whiffing so badly, could you be a dear and go kill Mantis instead? I mean, he totally needs to die too ya know!'

"Unless the Leviathan, being the key, is the only way to close the gate." Dolnam points out.

"I would prefer you not kill Mantis if you can help it. We have a justice system down here, as well."

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

Dolnam boosts his resilience to shoving attacks.

Boost 10 for Unstoppable Immovable 10 (Limited: Only in a turn I move).

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

"So their homeworld, more likely than not? That is...troubling."

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

Oh no! They've opened the Stargate!

Dolnam awakens with a start moments after the battle ends.

The Tuatha have gifted me with great powers. And a glass jaw, it seems." he remarks to no one in particular.

He goes on the submarine, more out of mistrust for Manta than anything else.

"Where does the Gate go?"

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

Con check: 1d20 ⇒ 2

Dolnam stays unconscious.

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

Dolnam's chill aura ceases immediately as Aquagirl hits him, but the sea-green glow returns, working its magic on him.

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

Toughness: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19

Don't think that quite does it, nope. So, fail by 21. Am I immediately knocked out or something?

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

Came up with a better solution anyway. Forgot this was a power.

Dolnam concentrates for a moment, his greenish glow disappearing, replaced by white with a frosty mist (somehow persisting underwater) emanating from his skin. The Justice League and Manta's men feel a slight chill, but everyone else is chilled to the bone.

Using my Boost 10 to get Environmental Control (Cold, 2 point variant) 4 (1 mile radius) with Selective and Sedation as Power Feats.

I radiate an area of Extreme Cold for 1 mile, but exclude any area my allies (and Manta and his men) and myself occupy.

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

"I'm going to attempt to use my magic to override the Starro's mental control."

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

I guess the first time I attacked 1d3 ⇒ 1 whale #1.

Thought about trying to mind control them, but that seems like effort.

Attack Whale #1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

Dolnam darts in at lighting speed and jabs his spear into the nearest whale.

"We'll eat well tonight, I think"

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

And rank 12 damage, so DC 27 Toughness.

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

Dolnam follows, but also swims a wide perimeter to keep watch for threats.

IIRC I can move 125k miles per round, so it shouldn't be too hard to keep track of what's in a pretty big area.

Perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (15) + 16 = 31

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

Dolnam looks slightly annoyed.

"I needed a moment to gather my thoughts."

Using a point of Luck to grab an Alt of Magic: Drain 20, Reversible, Extended Range 3.

Dolnam drifts in, and manifests spectral chains from each of his left fingers. He whips them at the Leviathian, and they dig into its metal, sapping its strength.

Draining its Strength, it gets a DC 30 Fort save to negate. If it fails, its Str is reduced by 20 points.

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

Dolnam gives a quick decisive nod.

<I doubt you have any more desire for an alien force to invade our ocean than I do, Manta. The land dwellers also seem trustworthy. Tell me what you need me to do and I'll do it.>

Action forthcoming, I'm going to research a quick spell that might stop the thing from moving.

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

Dolnam lowers his spear somewhat.

<Is that why we've lost contact with Atlantis? I was sent to investigate this place for a connection. It seems that was the right choice. I am Dolnam, I represent the Tuatha. Do you need any further help with this thing, or is it under control?>

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

As the leviathan is restrained and boarded by Manta, a new figure appears on the scene, seeming almost to have teleported to everyone but Shale before the massive surge of displaced water rushes forward around him, tracing his passage backward. He holds a spear, and is shirtless, showing off his muscled physique (despite his relatively small stature). Every visible part of his body is covered in tattoos.

A voice insinuates itself into everyone's mind.

"What are you doing in our waters? I can't say I'm surprised to see that Manta is behind this, but why are the rest of you helping him?"

He seems willing to talk, but holds his spear at the ready.

Luck: 4/6, Action Point: 2

All right, think I'm done with the sheet. Combination of massive Impervious Toughness and total Regeneration isn't too much, I hope. It's offset somewhat by the fact that I didn't put ANY points in Reflex throws or Defense bonus, so every thing you throw at me will HIT, it just won't stick as long as I can creep to or someone can drop me into salt water.

As for story: Basically, Dolnam is part Tuatha (an offshoot of Atlanteans), and is this generation's chosen host of the combined might of all the legendary Tuatha gods or heroes (like Dagda and Nuada) and all the previous hosts of such. Being only 1/4 human (his grandmother, one of the previous hosts, left Tierna Na Oge to live in the human realms about 200 years ago and married a human), he lacks much of (well, ALL) the raw physicality of his Atlantean forebears, but is blessed with godlike strength, speed, and magic by the spirits sharing his head (as a consequence, he shares a lot of their knowledge as well, represented by Jack of All Trades and Eidetic Memory, as well as Boost giving him wide spell access).

I was thinking he just arrived on the scene due to a summons from his people asking him to check out all that fuss over there in the ocean what's been going on lately.

I goofed, I guess I didn't remove that post quick enough. I misread the Device power. So everything's fine, it saved me quite a few points (I only paid 25pp for 40 pp worth of abilities. 80 since there was an Alternate Effect).

I think I'm done on powers, I'ma post with the alias (nae subject to change).

Going to do abilities, skills, etc. and then see what I need to trim and where.

Going to take Tumbler's suggestion and hybridize our ideas. So part Tuatha/Atlantean, part human (explain him being relatively weak for an Atlantean without his other powers).

Edit: Being a double idiot I accidentally overwrote my copy-paste of the powers. Ass. Posting the basics for myself tomorrow:

1 Array: Spear
2 Array: Flight and Swim/Speed
3 Array: Magic (Blast and Boost)

Ability set: Immunities, Super Str, and Mental Comms linked

Ability: Protection 9, Impervious 12
