Background:

Spoiler:
Dirdelle is an orphan and was raised in an orphanage sponsered by the church of Cayden Cailean. When she left the orphanage she took the Laughing Drunk's surname as her own, although the priest who ran the orphanage cryptically noted that her parentage made it an appropriate choice. She found her way to Magnimar, where she became an itenerant preacher of the ways of Cayden Cailean.

She also discovered that she had another talent as well. She was very good at "liberating" money from the wealthy. She would then distribute the money among the porest of the city's residents. This earned her great acclaim among the lower classes, but many enemies among the wealthy. When the lords of Magnimar invited a contengent of Hellknights into the city, she decided to head for greener pastures. She "retired" to Sandpoint and found work as a barmaid. She finds the work agreeable, but the desire for adventure is a constent gnawing in the back of her mind, urging her on to greater things.
