![]() I am rather confused about the invisibility spot DC's. And, it comes up in my campaign quite a bit, so let me see if I get this right; Sorsha walks within 30 ft. of an invisible person, DC 20 to notice. And to pinpoint the square, she needs to make a 40 (+20). If the invisible bugger in question starts speaking, it's back to 20 to pinpoint? If the guy starts to move at half speed, is the DC now 35 (20+20-5) to pinpoint? Does Stealth come into 0 may at all? Sorry for such a basic question, but the description befuddled me for some reason. ![]()

![]() So, in a game, the PC'S were able to charm the captain of a fortress into not attacking and helping them against a few other residents. Now, this guard captain has been having some conflicting thoughts about her past ancestry and her employers. Another PC (one who didn't charm her) made a successful Diplomacy check to enlist her to aid them against her master. My main question is this: after the charm wears off, will she remember being convinced to do away with her former alliance? Or is she mind-wiped of whatever transpired during the spell? ![]()

![]() I'm DMing this AP with PC's that have pretty decent ability scores (I didn't learn from Carrion Crown :P). I am hesitant to give them the +2 to their ability of choice, but I don't really want to shortside them (they just stepped into the portal and went to Waldsby, and one of them is familiar with the ability boost). Should I go ahead with the boon, or give them something else? ![]()

![]() Hi, my order shipped out on the 16th of July, and it supposedly arrived in my city and transferred to the post office on the 19th of July. So far, it has not shown up - last month's order likewise took a while, but not this long. Is there a specific tracking number that you use for them? Last time I tried, none of the numbers were recognized by the local PO. Thanks! ![]()

![]() Hi, got an e-mail saying I need to change my payment option. My card expires this month, but the bank sent me a new one - however, it uses the same card number, but with a different expiration date. I can't seem to update the information on my account due to this (the new card has been activated). ![]()

![]() Is Ustalav missing a county? There's supposed to be sixteen (as indicated on the national coat of arms); Virlych is the remants of Grodlych and Virholt, and Janoyt was annexed to the River Kingdoms. That'd be fifteen; were Tamrivena and Canterwall two counties once, and were then merged? ![]()

![]() Going to be playing in a Rise of the Runelord game in a few weeks, and I'm aiming for sorcerer (or oracle, depending if a healer is needed). I've got one with the rakshasa bloodline lined up - the character background is good that I'm coming up with, but one thing I'm worried about whether its the right one for this particular campagin. I've heard there is some cult chasing, so I think that the silver toungue ability and detect thoughts would help in some cases (and gaining charm person, suggestion as bloodline spells, too). Are there other bloodlines that I should consider instead? ![]()

![]() I'm currently running Carrion Crown as a DM, and I've been getting a bit worn out with a few things and want to see if they can be addressed. One thing that has been coming up is the player's motivation - past wanting to "avenge the professor", why else would they persue the WW (besides just being "good" characters)? The Palatine Eye sounds like it's there to bring them more into what's going on, but it kind of feels too vague(I've been trying to insert more motivations from their character's background in order, but ever since working overnights, this has been difficult). I guess that is one of the problems I am runnning into with my group - I tried to put out the Order with Judge Daramid from TotB, but it feels like I have to rush things out, and it seems like they don't pay a lot of attention/write things down, as I have to summerize (constantly) what's going on all the time. While they say they enjoy the game, it looks like they're not totally engrossed in what's going on (a few players constantly look at Reddit/play online games while I'm Dming, hence I repeat things a lot). I'd like to talk to my player's about this, but aside from not really getting a response, I don't want to seem to be too defensive about it (or have them get too defensive, also). Any advice? ;^.^ ![]()

![]() I'm curious as to how much ability scores can affect the APL of an adventure.
We're going to add another player (so 6 PC's in total), and I'm adjusting the encounters a bit higher than the norm. I've done the math, and they would technically be an APL of 8. I'm just wondering if I should do more work on the encounters also because of their ability scores? ![]()

![]() Hi, I received my order of the full Serpent's Skull AP, and the last installment, "Sanctum of the Serpent God" is missing pages 64 thru 80 (so I'm missing the articles on the end of Beyond the AP, Ydersius' cult, Pathfinder's Journal, and the beginning of the Bestiary). Is there a way to rectify this, like giving the missing pages in pdf format? It was Order #2077103. Thanks. ![]()

![]() I know that technically, an alchemist's bomb is a supernatural effect (though the fluff paints it as "magical") and not a spell. In an upcoming game, the party (which includes an alchemist) will be going up against some flesh golems, against which SRD wrote: A magical attack that deals cold or fire damage slows a flesh golem (as the slow spell) for 2d6 rounds (no save). I'm somewhat split on this, and I'd hate to gimp my player (as there will be several golems encountered). So would the standard bomb (fire damage) affect the golem in this way (and electric bombs for the heal effect) even though its not technically a spell? ![]()

![]() Must say, this is one of my favorite countries (a mageocracy with turnover ruleship). However I am somewhat confused as to how the 'cycle' works. I understand that there's 4 bloodlines, with each ruling a province; they in turn are ruled by a 5th bloodline, which has the other's abilities (guessing that the Cinnamon Throne is an artifact), and is drawn from the other four's ranks every 10 years. Now, according to the recent history, Tok Wayra was the ruler, then stepped down and became the 'Lord of Bats' (the stormborn bloodline), and someone else (from the other 4 bloodlines, presumably) takes the throne. Ok, now the question is...what happened to the the position of magistrate for the storm bloodline's lands while Tok Wayra was the leader? Does a placeholder take care of his duties during that time? ![]()
![]() Not sure if my PC's are going to go this route after all, but after letting them know about dhampirs....they all want to play one each. Initially, I was for it...until I read the adventure I remembered something: Dhampir are like undead in terms of healing, and a lot of items are potions of cure and the like. Yeah, I'm sure I could just replace them with potions of inflict, but I don't think it makes sense in game/story terms (there were once living people in the ruins and they'd benefit from healing potions, and also I don't see clerics of Pharasma making a bunch of undead-healing potions). I'm probably going to tell them only one, maybe two, dhampirs - just to save everyone a headache in terms of healing thier characters - but I want to see what other people think. ![]()
![]() Ok; I want to run the AP for a group, though I have a question about how the spelling of Varrisanna's name works. plot spoiler:
When the Splatter Man is forcing Gibs to spell out her name, and his location is being watched or whatnot, he finds another place.
Now, does he have to start over in spelling the name, or does he just continue from whatever letter he left off? Thanks ^^ ![]()
![]() Has anyone used this location as a side adventure?
Obviously I'm going to make them work for their base, but I'm having trouble figuing out the currant tenants; so far I decided against frost giants, devils, demons... I just wanted to see what other people did.
