About Darnel Hemlock

Darlen was only a few days old when he left with a blacksmiths family, in the small village of XXX, after his mother died from complications in child birth. The adoptive parents Grant and Luciel Hamlock were childless and aging and had always wanted children so when a local cleric brought the small half-orc they were thrilled.

Somehow having two human parents made Darlen more human than his deep green skin would have let normally happen and his parents protected him form the world as much as he could. As soon as he was strong enough, which was young, he followed in his father’s footsteps as an armor smith learning to create some truly breathtaking piece of the highest quality though he was never taken on the bigger deliveries.

Right around Darlens 16th birthday his father was to set out to deliver a particularly large order of armor and weapons. He begged his father to take him with him but was rejected as usual. Having had enough he took matters into his own hands and followed his father. He was concerned as they traveled further and further north and were soon approaching what he knew to be the contested boarder of Molthune. He was about to approach his father and revel himself when a contingent of the Molthune military. As he watched they fell upon his father injuring and restraining him until their commander dismounted.

The commander charged his father with treason for providing weapons to the enemy and ran him though on the spot. Distraught but scared Darlen approached as the soldiers rode away with his fathers shipment. As he approached he found his father dieing but not dead. In his final moment of clarity Grant told Darlen that he was to get his mother and travel to Nirmathas and join a free society. He had once been a warrior and wanted his son to take him his sword and armor in defense of the young nation he had been aiding.
