Background: For GM eyes only:
Darian Furkin was born almost 20 years ago to Kullen and Daralie Furkin, he was the youngest of 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls. He was also born a natural werewolf and a second generation one at that.
Darian's grandparents were afflicted werewolves who were driven out of their homes, when their neighbors found out about their conditions. Forced to join the Shadow Pack (a group of lycanthropic druids) to survive, Darian's grandparents cast off their human names and and adopted the family name of Furkin.
Darian was raised to fully embrace his werewolf heritage, treasure his family, respect the forest and never trust humans, who saw him and all his kind as monsters. With his upbringing and affinity for nature (particularly canines), Darian was considered a prime candidate for recruitment into the Shadow Pack's Druidic Circle, which he was accepted into at the age of 18, that was the proudest day of his life, but the Night of Silver Blood would change all that.
In 4707, Druids from the Shadow Pack performed a ritual designed to give werewolves immunity to silver, for an attack on the city of Olfden. Darian was one of the druids chanting prayers to Gozreh, as he watched his parents and siblings undergo the ritual.
He cheered as watched them attack the walls of Olfden, he rejoiced when they all returned unharmed, despite numerous attacks from silver weapons and he was horrified when two days after the attack, he woke up to find them all dead, as well as hundreds of other werewolves who participated in the ritual.
Overcome with grief at the loss of his family and guilt at the part he played in their deaths, Darian wandered the woods, not caring where he went or what happened to him, until chance (or perhaps the will of Gozreh) caused him to meet Tablic leader of the Greenfire Circle Druids, a more moderate druid group that sought to protect the wilds through diplomacy and compromise.
Still in shock, Darian numbly told Tablic his story and begged him to kill him, Tablic (who has a dark past of his own) was moved to sympathy for the young werewolf and instead chose to show mercy, and accept him into the Greenfire Circle.
It's been a year since the loss of his family, with the help of Tablic, Darian has come to terms with the loss of his family and the role he played in it. Now he hopes to make their sacrifices mean something, by finding a way that all people can live together, humans and werewolves alike.
