Hi Guys,

Sorry about leaving you in the lurch, but not being in any games for the last few weeks, (months), has taken a great big weight off my mind. I didn't realise just how much stress that was putting on me, signing in and looking at stuff and responding. I've really enjoyed playing with you guys, but for my peace of mind I think its time I left the boards for a while.

This has nothing to do with you, its just where I am at the moment. This has been one of the best games I've been involved in, I really loved this incarnation of Darc. I loved the different relationships in the group and the characters, and would like to thank GM Zed for making it such a fun game.

I wish you luck in the future and hope the game goes well.

Darc, his face somewhat disappointed not to have persuaded one of the guards to rest horizontally, clears a way for those standing to leave quickly, with a slight nod of the head as they pass him by. "Elise, you OK?" he asks his friend, seeing no sign of injury, but you never can be truly certain.

Let's get across this bridge and .... where's Tella gone?

Darc, just shrugs his shoulders, shakes his head as he winks at Elise. In his mind he thinks, Here we go, ain't no reason to talk further. His hand lays on Tella's shoulder, as he pulls her behind him, gruffly he says "Like she says!" and smiles at the leader of the guardians of the dig.

Darc waits and watches the men that protect the dig, his muscles twitch with excitement, but he waits for Elise to finish her discussions before he enters the argument with a fist.

Darc his eyes closed and drifting, his head slowly forward his chin nearly touching his chest, before jerking his head back, blinking his eyes , before his eyelids get heavy again. The power of Tella's magics and the intoxicating chant, take their toll on Darc, dazed his mind clouds over into a dark and wispy gray fog, comforting and relaxing.

As Tella's power diminishes and the ritual ends, Darc quickly looks around, refocusing on where he is and what he's doing. He coughs slightly, attempting to give the impression his mind has not been wandering through this interrogation. "Yes, Spitewinter next." Rubbing his eyes until there get a red tinge, he thinks, Shame, would like to see Mahaas get his comeuppance.

Hi Guys, time off was longer than anticipated.
After feeling a bit sorry for Holly's passing I contracted a nasty chest virus and have been signed off from work with it. The cough is still with me, but I'm feeling a lot more human again.
I'll hopefully have a post up in the next 24hrs.

Darc, puts his arm around Tella protectively, helping her through the morning. He grumbles when he see Varian, looking so sprightly and fresh, "Morning my lord, I trust all is well with you" he bows slightly, a mocking tone in his voice.

"Though tis good you bring coin, where'd you find it or is it from your immaculate and estimable cellars." his words bite and cut through the morning air. "Or do we, my noble lord, not deserve the truth" under his breath he lets out, "though we fight at you side."

He looks to Elise and nods, before whispering in Tella's ear, "Please wake now, make sense of Lord Varian this morning, he acts strangely."

Darc wakes, rubbing his eyes as he looks around the nice room he finds himself. He blinks several times before calling out "Morning Tella, you up." These were strange comfortable surroundings, better than what he was used to, he stretches, wondering if he should start making a good cooked breakfast to keep him going. He smells the pillow, a pretty floral scent greets his nose, before sending his nose to his armpits. His nose creases at the new pungent smell and odor. Could do with a trough, with reasonably clean water, wonder where such a thing is round these parts.

He manages to find enough clean cold and refreshing water to douse his body and wake the end of each nerve, his boy tingling under the touch of the liquid.

Darc follows Tella and the others as they make their way along the deathly waters of the Lyme, both a friend and a foe to Castorage.

"Why do this?, unless someone is perfecting their skill in killing this way. The corpses do not rise as warriors of the dead, so their souls are passing. Killing unfortunates, just means you can satisfy your desire for death, without the consequences, unlike killing toffs. It just starts to create fear, we must stop it and save more from this terrible death, before fear or flames rule Castohage." Darc says, his face a mask of stoic determination.

Darc follows the girls over to the bodies, his lips curl in disgust as the bodies are uncovered, their flesh charred and the lingering smell of flesh, burned and cooked. It is not these things that disgust the man, but the coward that did these things, murdering these innocents. "These last two, the ones you don't have names for, do your papers say where they died? and when? Surely some one must have seen them die, other than the killer. Did they have any jewelry on before they arrived? any possessions at all? Let us try and find out who they are, and why they were picked out for this fate. Then we can talk to their families, if they have any." He goes over to the two bodies, looking for any marks or gold in the teeth, burned tattoos, jewelry anything. "We will get those responsible, who will pay for what they have done." He adds, his voice full of grit and determination.

Putting his hand on Elise's shoulder Darc winks at his friend, "Knew you'd sort it." Turning back to the officer, Darc reminds the watch, "And don't go loosing him." before following the others from the watch, with just one more glace back as he exits the door.

With a large sigh, he gulps in the air, stale and typically heavy Castohage air. "What a nice night to go to the Morgue!" he quips.

Darc eyes the watch suspiciously, as they don't know if Mahaas has any previous relationship with them.

Eyeing the Stirge suspiciously, Darc helps the takes two headed creature from the Stirge's grasp. He plonks Mahaas on the ground, looking at the sorry state of the man up and down. He starts to pat the clothes, despite any protests from Mahhas. "Probably be safer with the watch then out there on your own, but they don't need your things. Sure we can find a use for them, even if it is only to pay for the poor girls funeral." He stands and methodically searches Mahaas. As he does, he continues, "So how come you came by the extra head, isn't one good enough for you?" Once this is over, Darc roughly throws him over his shoulder and continues to the discuss the second head, until they reach the watch and he leads Mahaas in after the others have entered.

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 will aid another if someone else searches Mahaas.
Also someone out to detect magic over the guy ... if they haven't done already.

Darc smiles as he watches the evil thing squirm under the influence of Elise and these new friends of his. Though he watches 'The Stirge' carefully, unsure whether the man is really their companion in the fight against 'the fire deaths' or has some other motive.

I know he's been assured of 'The Stirge's' identity earlier, though I need to go back and read it ... just like a bit of tension between the two fighters.... ;-)

Darc seems to getting the hang of this flying now, baring down on Mahaas a grin on his face, concentrating on the man as he flees from his friends. Looking back he calls to Tella, "Keep up with me now" with a friendly laugh. He picks up a sheet from the clothes line as he passes under it, as it hung loose. The sheet streams out behind him almost as a white flag of surrender, but surrender isn't on Darc's mind.

A broad smile crosses Darc's face as he listens to Tella's words and begins to steady himself, throwing one arm in front of him, his fist clenched as his hair blows backward as he increases his speed and control of the flight. aka Superman .... "hey, this is fun Tella, must let me do this again sometime. Yeah sliding on my belly on ice, its just like that!!!" he shouts back to his friend, before continuing to chase down the evil Mahaas.

Kind of assume that flying negates the need for acrobatics and climb checks....but not the chimney stacks.

Darc makes to jump across the gap, just as his brain registers the words spoken by Tella. Shaking his head, he grumbles to himself, "I could have made that a whole lot easier, I must think first before I act." With that he moves his arms wide and jumps off the ledge after Maahas following as best he can using using his new power of flight. He hopes to get over the top of the two headed man and dive on him and take him down. Unfortunately for Darc, he has difficulty using his new found power and unsteadily follows Mahaas as he meakes his escape.

If Mahaas had to move away more than 5ft from Darc, Darc would have an AoO. Darc is always armed with natural weapons. Just a reminder ... as Darc likes a good trip ... :-)

Sense Motive on Mahaas to determine if he is obeying Stirge or under Tella's influence: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Darc's eyes close to mere slits of hate, watching intently Mahaas' every move. The muscles on the fighter's body tense up, ready to pounce. As he watches Eliseera plunge forward. "Nooo!" he shouted as a reflex to his friends Elise move. Darc gets ready to act, or react to Mahaas' actions. Either to rush and pull Elise from the conflagration should the flask burst forth into flame and death or to tackle Mahhas to the floor and stop his escape.

Darc skirts around the room, until he is close to the two headed Mahaas, seeking to rip the rapier from the creatures grasp and rasp into the things ear, "You won't be needing this. You are without hope, give up and my friends might even feel generous and let you go with your life." Darc's words and deep slow and full of controlled anger as he awaits for the thing to respond to Tella's special powers.

Darc stops his attacks and starts to admonish the boy in a stern voice, "Stop now young one, whoever punished you like this, it was not us. But if you continue you will suffer under my hand. Stop now and you will not be punished further." He wags his hand at the child, as a teacher scolding a naughty boy.

"Darn pesky little creature, let's get you a little tired shall we ..." Darc takes up a fighting stance, his fists held high whilst he bounces on his toes, his eyes and face concentrate on dealing hurt to this creature. His limbs become a fast blur as he unleashes several kicks at the thing.

"I ain't liking this Elise, even by Castorhage's standards this is on the bleak and dark side. My slum is like a palace compared to this. Still onwards and .... well, just onwards." The big man grumbles as he follows 'The Stirge'. He looks around the rotting collection of things, kicking the rotten wood of a child's rocking horse as he goes. It crumbles under his foot, as several small beetles move onto the next wooden meal. "Well, which way now?"

"Elise, let me follow him, don't want him doing anything stupid again. you know, even his lordship was better than Stirge, when he was with us." Darc says quietly through curled lips into Elise's ear. "An I don't want no harm on Tella, she's not big enough to look after herself." Darc adjusts his cloak, pulling it tightly about his person and ready to follow 'Stirge' up. Loudly he lets the group know, he expects someone to catch him should he fall, and laughs as they all look at him, a jovial wink in his eye.

Darc looks to Elise to get permission to loose the captive 'Stirge', he growls as she nods, his arms slowly, reluctantly easing the pressure. He whispers loudly into the Stirge's ear venomously, "Don't think I'll forget, we've lost one to his own investigations, I'll not let harm come to the others." The Stirge is let go roughly in front of Elise, Darc not moving from behind the man as he offers his gold. Darc's face grim and stern, his eyes follow the Stirge as he moves away and they begin the investigation into the derelict building.

"Climbing up doesn't look a good option, we got any other way to do it?" Darc asks, following the discussion on how unsafe the ladder appears. Darc goes over to the ladder and gives the bottom a good shake, without climbing up any rungs, he feels the movement of the ladder. Even as he does this, he is constantly eyeing the Stirge, making sure the man does not suddenly try something on his own.

"I don't have any climbing gear with me, Elise?" he questions, knowing her previous expeditions often required her to pull a rabbit out of the hat, or in this case climbing equipment. "Unless we can encourage the man to leave the building of his own accord, persuade him with some sort of encouragement." his head is cupped in his dirty hand as he thinks on a solution.

He leaves the others to ponder the question, as he follows Ruby's request to stand sentry to their investigations. He wanders around the shadows of the building looking out for any interested parties and also to see if that pesky spy, the crow is anywhere to be seen. Come here little birdie, that I can wring your neck!

Darc quickly gets across to 'The Stirge' and makes it clear his wanderings off have nothing to do with the group. He makes to grab the stranger coming out of the cabin, holding his arms locked behind his back. "Let me deal with him, he's not one of us, he only joined with us moments before we came aboard your establishment." He roughly starts to take 'The Stirge' off the barge and to the street. "I can punish him for his misdemeanour, have no fear Mr Mean. My good friend with you, still has business to conclude."

Just to clarify, Darc has not connected 'The Stirge' with Varian ... so he currently means it ... so hope you don't mind this bit of inter party confrontation ...

Darc eyes the crow suspiciously. The spy in the sky, black is their colour, black is their heart. he thinks as his lip curls with disgust at the bird and slowly, very slowly his hand edges closer to his crossbow.

Here we go Elise, landing in it again... Darc shrugs as nods to the gnome, "I'm with my friend here." he growls making sure the ugly pawn-broker can see he has no weapons drawn. He looks uneasy, knowing that a stranger is trying to aid them by disappearing into the shadows.

Darc casts his eyes to Elise, for just a few seconds he catches her knowing look, before he returns his suspicions and gaze on 'The Stirge'.

"So how we approaching this pawn-broker then?" Darc asks, now an interloper has joined Elise and this band of females.

Elise tells me I'm ready to move on .... ;-)
