Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

As Dakvor listens to Vorik fail to engage in a friendly conversation with the passing pilgrims, the young half-orc monk looks closely at the haughty man who boldly insults the paladin and then at the rest of its companions.

He understands the bitterness but could not accept the man's rude manner.

Perception roll: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

So we're heading towards Flamekeep as well? Thought Ria's group was the one going that way while we proceeded towards the northern border? In any case wherever we're headed, I'll just go with the flow.

As the group continues their journey, Darius's scouting ahead reveals some stirring of troubles on the borders of Thrane and Karrnath.

Dakvor muses silently and can't help but draw a parallel on the group's situation. Seems the mood on those borders reflect our group's temperament, I do hope we don't truly come to blows!

Then as he looks at The Shadow, he can't help but smile. Nah! The elf here can handle the welcome respite from too much seriousness!

The half-orc's musing is interrupted as Vorik approaches a group of travelers. He steps nearer so he could hear more of the conversation.

alongheads for Flamekeep as well albeit not together

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Yey! Welcome to the group Distan!

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

sorry too for the erratic posts but am stil here; it's just that I also have a terrible connection, and i mostly post via my cellphone which is more terrible as I've had some posts that sometimes get lost. Hope we can still play on.thanks!

Dakvor looks calmly at the flowing river and sighs inwardly. I guess it's about time we all take a bath anyway.

Since taking 10 won't cut it out for Dakvor as per description the river has a strong current which means a dc of 15 I believe then he'll take 20 instead; spending the time to enjoy the water and let the mild altercation between Bones and Vorik dissipate before reaching for the other side.

As he hears the bickering between Vorik and Bones that seems it may get out of hand, the half-orc monk thinks, Yeah, a bath I hope calms us all

And so he did and enjoyed the waters for a while.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Dakvor was silent during the tense conversation between Leonardo and most of the group who clearly have prejudice against Thrane. The war wounds are indeed still fresh.

The young half-orc monk looks closely at the rest; patiently waiting for the others to follow Leonardo.

Well if my guess is right Darius would initiate following Leonardo as he quite nicely put it that the pissing match is over and it's prudent that we now move on.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

"Well, Nic I guess it's as likely as a bunch of escapees dropping from an airship & findin' themselves on this very same spot," Dakvor replies with a resigned smile to the changeling. The half-orc monk kept silent throughout the scavenging the group did on the remnant of Captain Ria's airship; just going along with the flow, stuffing provisions on his backpack just so enough that he could still move freely. He brooded throughout the night and only now did the monk had the enthusiasm again to take stock of their situation.

I've a shorter lifespan than Darius, I guess I do need to just enjoy whatever fate's heaping on us.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Hearing the rescued prisoner's quip, Dakvor can't help but retort back. Desh's bloodied body is still fresh in the monk's mind. But before he could open his mouth, the airship suddenly jerked violently!

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

The young half-orc monk still managed to remain standing despite the onslaught of heat, cold, shaking not unlike an earthquake, and with Nic tumbling down beside him while still holding on to their life ring.

"What indeed, Nic! Hope your leg's all right, though. That was a nasty toss we just got! Was such a toss one of the interesting ones the captain has shown you before?"

"Hmmm, and what's with that fire & ice weather?"

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

"Thank you sir Vorik for bestowing your Gods' blessing on us!"

Dakvor's back to full HP. He'll also stow away his crossbow into his pack and hold onto the life ring beckoning Til to join him and Nic on the life ring (if I remeber correctly it can hold four)

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

The ensuing battle in that cabin inside that storm-tossed airship held Dakvor in awe as he beholds the magical skills and martial powers of his companions put the ice creatures at a defensive.

The young half-orc monk though is well aware that putting the creatures in the defensive is not enough as he observes and painfully feels the danger they are in.

He quickly moves toward the one attacking the halfling Til after his companions quickly dispatches the winged creature he missed hitting with his bare hands.

Dakvor executes a kick towards the creature as he reaches it from across the cabin

Unarmed attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

As expected given the circumstances, Dakvor's bolt shot went wild but as Breland's folk wisdom would say through the mouth of the famous fictional (though some scholars may contend him being fictional) Beggar Daine,

"When you're already in the pits, you'll feel you can do anything! . . . "

" . . . coz it's dung if you do and dung if you don't anyway!"

The half-orc can't help but smile as he remembers hearing first those quoted words from a drunken sailor in one of the taverns of Cliffside in Sharn.

Then the captain decided to ride out the magical storm below deck with everyone and advised everyone to brace for what seem to be an inevitable crash.

However as the winged creatures started crawling through the cabin accompanied by a cacophony of snow blowing through the broken portholes, Dakvor felt that even an airship crash for the group isn't as simple as just dropping down from the sky. The group as fates would have it demands that they even have a nice litte fight before crashing down!

"No rest for the wicked, indeed, Darius!"

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Then to no one in particular and with a sigh of acceptance and resignation, the young half-orc monk quips,

"Well as Beggar Daine would say: 'It's an Ogre's Choice for you --- Die fast or Die slow'. But Dagger take the damn ogre, I say! Not today, not today, no."

Well, the ogre's choice is from dragonlance actually :) Anyway if Dakvor can attack right away with his initiative, he'll do so.

Unarmed attack on nearest winged creature to Dakvor: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Damage roll: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Dakvor heartily laughs with the gleeful elf.

Then, the winged creatures Loche mentioned earlier now appear into focus as the ship inevitably gets suck nearer into the portal.

Dakvor knowing the elements right now is against him but deciding to still try it, loads the light crossbow he's already holding and fires off a shot towards one of the approaching creatures.

Bolt shot 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 (with no penalty yet, so adjust accordingly,Levi)
Damage roll 1d8 ⇒ 3

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

oops,forgot my roll. Here goes...

acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Dakvor returns Nic's smile. "Well not really. All I experienced with my stepfather's travels were incessant rains in an airship, But no, not at all as interesting as this as you say it!"

Then in a rush, the captain instructed them on what to do. The half-orc monk dutifully complies as he quickly accepts that he's no expert in a ship whether for the air or water.

He manages to cram on top of his clothes the winter garments from the hold; even hastily jamming on top of his bandana, a funny-looking hat appropriate for cold weather.

Warming up to the changeling, Dakvor follows Nic on retrieving liferings that's supposed to make them float instead of falling straight down.

"Master Til!", he calls out as he sees the halfling cook come up above deck in winter clothes. "We've got a life ring for you here!"

The half-orc monk despite the obvious danger of the situation can't help but feel exhilirated of everything right now!

And with a wide grin and his left fang glistening in the dawn light, Dakvor calls out to The Shadow.

"Well Darius! Is this fun or not?!"

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

After promptly bidding Captain Ria a good night, Dakvor wasted no time and promptly fell asleep on the assigned accomodation for the group.

The half-orc monk and the rest of the group was rudely awakened by gusts of wind slamming hard the ship. The monk took the time to retrieve his belonging and readied his light crossbow, thinking that being up here in the air, his bolts might be more useful intead of just his bare hands.

"Well, not quite the jostle I'm expecting! I guess it's a proper storm that fate's gonna serve us today!", Dakvor says to no one in particular as he goes up to the deck of the ship towards where the captain is; his curiosity overcoming his trepidation that it may be dangerous going out with the winds tossing the ship.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Sorry not yet completed Dakvor's stats but basically since the monk's level up does not really entail much, the following are the only changes that need my decisions:

+1 on Dakvor's Dex ability, making it to 16.
+9 hp from my roll above.
+1 on all of Dakvor's existing skills.

All stats will update accordingly using the above. I'll try to finish it soon. I actually have it on paper already I'm just having a hard time posting it as I'm only accessing our PBP via my cell phone which is quite clunky and the connection's not that good (takes forever to refresh the screen).thanks.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Oops! So sorry about that roll. I'm doing this via my cellphone and seems I messed up the coding. Please scratch that roll, Levi; i'm using the one below:

Dakvor's hp roll for level 4: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 (+1 favored class)

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Dakvor's hp roll for level 4: 1d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + (2) = 8

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

"Thank you, captain for your splendid hospitality. You do your House and your fine ship already proud. A toss and jostle in a storm would be the least of our worries knowing you're leading this ship."

Then glancing pointedly at Darius.

"Though a jostle sometimes can be expected even without a storm . . . from what I've heard and observed here and there."

Then with a gracious nod to the beautiful captain, the half-orc monk smiles innocently.

"But I guess storm or no storm, an occassional jostle is always expected in an airship ride. It's quite liberating and exciting from what I've heard though I'm not particularly actively wanting to face one."

Then with a playful banter to Darius, Dakvor gestures to The Shadow.

"Our friend here seems to welcome such an experience from what I gathered from our brief but eventful time with him in Dreadhold. He's an enthusiastic one for living life to the fullest I guess."

OOC :
Man! I really love playing eberron's tone!

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

After voicing out his opinion on the matter at hand, Dakvor continued to listen to his own body and expectedly finds it wanting naturally a restful sleep.

But the young half-orc monk realizes that the group is still enthusiastically discussing other things. He decided then to just keep silent and hooded his eyes and assumed a meditative mental stillness while keeping an outward countenance of listening to the conversation. This way his body is getting the rest it deserves.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Once food was served, Dakvor heard his body's calling for a much needed and overdue meal. "Don't forget the basics." The half-orc monk could still hear his martial mentor, Vikashtai. "The mind can't function if you don't satisfy first the basic need of the body."

And so thinking, Dakvor enjoyed the meal silently, savoring the exquisite food while listening to the conversation of the group.

After listening for a while and feeling his body quite satisfied already, Dakvor realizes that if indeed the freed prisoner is the rightful king of Karnnath then they are way in over their head and obviously needs a strong backer.

"For now I do not have a clue on when obviously all our same employer plans to meet us now that we've fulfilled our part of the deal. But if our employer does not plan to meet us now then I vote on following Vorik's suggestion. I think the powerful backing of his family outweighs the risks we now face."

"Ruining Dreadhold's reputation is a Big deal as it is and Dreadhold will surely hunt us for the rest of our lives. But our rescued prisoner here if he is indeed the real Kaius is also a Big deal and making it known at the right time and helping him reclaim his rightful place could make Dreadhold think twice hunting us."

"But as I've said we have little information and support at the moment and we'll need help now that we are fugitives."

"And the obvious help we have available right now is Vorik's family."

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Yeehaw! Level up time! Dang though! I'm out of town and I don't have my rulebook with me right now so I might need a day or two to update Dakvor's profile.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Dakvor follows the group quietly as he looks one last time at the (as far as the young half-orc monk can tell from this distance), now umoving and red-colored body of Desh. Dagger take me! It could've been me lying there!

Dakvor glances at the changeling who offered the condolence. As the changeling caught his glance the monk offered his hand.

"He was called Desh. I knew him for a short time but the honor I glimpsed from him and the sacrifice he made is something I intend to remember for a long time. Thank you as well for the sympathy. Well met, Nic. Dakvor Damashek is my name. Thank you for the welcome as well. Are you with the captain? Are you also joining us below deck?"

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Dakvor was visibly relieved when Loche and the beetle hopped onboard the ship but the young half-orc monk's heart felt a tight squeeze as he saw the two over-sized blades of the over-sized dwarves still going up and down on a lone figure on the tower dock platform.

"Ogre's eyes! Desh!"

Dakvor realizes the shifter distracted the dwarves enough to give time for the rest of the group still on the platform to make their escape.

He can't help but feel a bit of misgiving on the prisoner that the group had just rescued. He better be worthy of Desh' sacrifice."

"May the Sovereign Host bless your unselfish soul, Desh! And may your sacrifice be not forgotten and be not for naught!"

The last line Dakvor deliberately said out more loudly, intending it to be heard by the prisoner they just rescued.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Dakvor sighs with relief when at last the rest of the group climbs aboard the escaping ship though he worries about Loche catching up. And so the half-orc monk implores the captain of the ship,

"Thanks for the lift! But if you don't mind, the druid & the giant beetle are with us, it would be nice if you wait a bit for them to catch up. They can fly but your mighty ship might be too fast for them!"

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Dakvor surprised by the unexpected allies, did not waste time firing off his crossbow to join the rain of arrows towards the dreadnaughts, reloading it as soon as he fired it while shouting to the ones on the platform.

"Come on over here guys! We're done here and they're with us! Your highness if it would please you, I think this is your ride out of here!"

Lightbow crossbow atk on the dwarf with 6 damage :
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
1d8 ⇒ 3

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Dakvor sensing that they could be trapped by the overgrown dwarves, follows Kaius's advice and Darius's action; the half-orc monk also moved as unthreateningly as possible on the gangplank and onto the ship.

Dakvor then faced towards the rest of the group still on the tower and making sure that the crew could see that he is looking at the huge dwarves (amd not at any of the crew so his next move would not be construed as threatening), the half-orc monk pulls out his light crossbow and aims it at one of the dwarves.

Dakvor will be aiming for the one that he could flank, i.e., if this is possible with the distance he's at right now.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

I like that free airship idea . . . hmmmm ... let's just toss over this "prisoner" here then after, huh? lol

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Dakvor seeing the huge dwarves come out of the hole and step onto the docking yard realizes that these guys are for straight combatants. And knowing the magical map is of no use in this situation anymore, pockets it (move action). And decides to follow Darius to the airship (move action).

Of course, this action of the half-orc monk might change given that I think he's last in the initiative rolls. In that case, he should still be standing on the squares touching Vorik.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

While looking at the map, Dakvor sees too late that the dreadnaughts are upon them already so that when the half-orc monk looks up all his companions were all aware already of the coming threat.

"Well the winds are upon us again!"

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

lol! Not over-played at all, Darius! It's actually so . . . Darius!

In diplomacy and in battle, it's undoubtedly "The Shadow" hahaha!

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

"Indeed, let's try diplomacy first. You still have your papers with you, Vorik, right? I suppose it's a starting point to show the captain of this airship. And yes, you can use Barik's funds if need be. And if it doesn't work then so be it . . . let's be pirates! We're in a big mess as it is already."

Having his say on the matter, Dakvor will peruse the map again and alternately glances on the corridor they just left behind, getting ready should the dreadnaughts spill out of it.

Initiative :
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

oops sorry seems GM Levi's posting when I was just typing :)
Anyway as Dakvor's looking at the map already, he'll tell the group any helpful information the map reveals about what's ahead (and what's behind as well).

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Dakvor carefully follows the ones ahead to avoid the trap the perceptive elf found. "Nicely done indeed, Darius!"

Dakvor takes a look at the magical map again to see if the trap the elf saw might have been indicated there all along. And if it was, the half-orc monk would look for any such trap on the map of the corridors they'll be taking from now on.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Yep. Respectfully asking GM Levi, too as I didn't even notice that he said "running" there which would rightly nullify a perception check. I was in the impression, too that we were not running :) I actually have this image of a lumbering giant beetle in front of us :)

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Uh-oh! Ok, Levi, who's the "you" here feeling that step?

Rolls :
In any case, Dakvor'll make a perception check then: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Reflex save if need be: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Edit: Pretty bland rolls, hope it's enough whatever this surprise might be.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

As far as I could tell, here's how the marching order goes, Beetle in front which occupies 10ft. Then behind it is Loche & Darius while Desh takes point at the back. Here's my suggestion for the position in between: Kaius & Vorik, then Bones & Dakvor. I'll have no objection if anyone wants to change the marching order totally.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

"Ok. Since I am neutral on both choices. And I just decided for sake of haste given the situation. My heart tells me though that since we might reach an impasse here then I respectfully suggest that Your Highness decides for the group; for you are the reason we are here."

Dakvor stops on his track from following the druid and the beetle and waits expectantly for the choice of the supposed-to-be rightful king of Karrnath, Kaius. The half-orc monk silently implores The Sovereign Host to make this suggestion palatable to the group.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Dakvor reaches the group as Loche directed his beetle companion to go downstairs on a Y-junction where the other one leads upstairs.

In case another will save is needed as this might be considered a new corridor:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 (a further +2 is added if Dakvor's still mind applies) [edit:] ok even if with still mind it's no good however if Dakvor could stand near Vorik as he makes the save then he'll do so; this way he makes the 15 :)

The half-orc monk hears just in time another argument between the paladin and the druid. "I wonder if their first decision on the three choices of corridors before also entailed this much bickering? We can't afford this right now!"

Though personally Dakvor thought the easy way out is also taking the high ground, there is also an impelling case for the druid's decision. And since the beetle is already trudging along nonchalantly into the depths and seeing that the magical map is showing "Dreadnaughts" whatever that means, coming from the corridors they did not take, then the half-orc thought every second counts.

"The beetle is going down already and Loche has as valid a point as going up so I don't see any advantage on either choice. So let's move on. This map here says "Dreadnaughts" whatever that means are coming from the corridors we did not take and I bet they aren't here to help us!"

Dakvor will go downstairs as well.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

It's friday evening here at GMT +8 right now (11pm actually) and I'll be signing off in a while as usual for the weekend. See you on monday (sunday night actually to most of you) then, guys! Though I think I can't help but peek on my celfone anyway this weekend. It's a hell though to post via my celfone :)

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Since the group seems to forget to choose where to go then as the half-orc monk keeps blabbin' about, "Let the winds of fate decide!"
1-2, we go straight; 3-4, we go left; 5-6, we go right . . .

and the winner is :
1d6 ⇒ 3 Ok. Go left then.

As Dakvor opens cell doors and tries catching up with the rest of his group, he notices that they took the left corridor where the young half-orc monk again mentally battled with the fear-causing magic of Dreadhold; a battle he successfully won . . . for now.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

GM ONLY:
For good order's sake, Dakvor picked up his light crossbow and bolt after the battle with the minotaur and stowed them away in his pack before he started opening the cells.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Dakvor's will save:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

With the beetle leading, followed by Vorik and Bones, Kaius and Loche, Darius and Desh, Dakvor volunteers to be the one behind as he takes the key and spends a move action each time they pass a cell door as he surmises that he is the most fleet of foot amongst the group so he could still gain on the group as they escape.

"Today is your half-blessed day, guys! For opening your cell door's all we can do but it's up to you how you get outta Dreadhold! So if anyone knows a way out, we're open to suggestions!", the half-orc shouted as he opens each door.

The half-orc monk thought bitterly as he opens each door. "Oh father, the winds of fate are tossing me like crazy right now and I hope you still recognize me when it's done with me . . . . "

"Or I hope I still recognize me!"

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Dakvor's gamble paid off and inwardly the half-orc monk thanked The Sovereign Host.

"Thanks, guys!", Dakvor acknowledged Desh's accurate arrow and Bones's making sure the minotaur wouldn't be a trouble anymore. "But mostly thanks to you, Loche and your companion. You softened that beast considerably. I hope you have plenty more as we're just starting."

The half-orc monk turns to the one holding the map. "Maybe I could make sense back to where we started before with Barik. I could still read the arcane writings. So Darius, I think it's now the right time for your plan to make mayhem by freeing some of the prisoners. So where do we start?"

Dakvor will relay to the group all he could discern right now with the map, including if there are other figures converging to our spot, etc. Also Dakvor made his saves from the disorientation effect of the corridors before so he should have some idea with the aid of the map where they are and where they could have started. What kind of skill checks do I need to roll, Levi? I'm ok if you need to roll for me on this one so that the pace would be faster...we're making a prison break for Vol's sake! lol

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

It's late friday night here and I'm offline on weekends as usual so I'll be posting my turn now. Dakvor comes after Bones per initiative.

Dakvor's action after Bones:
Round 3, hp 25, stun 2/3

With Loche's beetle companion overrunning the minotaur, the corridor clears a path for the rest of the group. Dakvor momentarily thinks of releasing the bolt of his loaded crossbow but instead decided to try stunning the huge horned beast.

Dakvor drops his crossbow (free action) and then charges the Minotaur. Dakvor’s position of 10 ft away from the minotaur allows room for him to charge and the distance is well within half of his 40-ft speed so the half-orc monk uses acrobatics to avoid AOO. His charge will bring down his AC to 15 but adds +2 to his attack

Acrobatics to avoid AOO: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 (+6 ranks,+2 dex mod)

Making a calculated risk, Dakvor suddenly bursts into action, dropping his crossbow and charges towards the Minotaur with nothing but his bare hands!

"I'll try to stun the beast, guys!"

Stun Attack roll (stun DC:14) : 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 (+2 BAB,+3 str,+2 charge), Damage roll: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 (+3 str)

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

I assume on the layout that Dakvor is "Barik" right? And he's standing on him? :P

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

GM Only:
Do I understand correctly that the corridor is 10-ft wide and that since the beetle occupies 10x10 then it's blocking our path towards the minotaur,i.e. starting from the minotaur, next is the beetle then Loche then the rest are behind Loche? This I think is our basis why we (Bones & Dakvor) are opting for ranged attacks. So Darius can't close in, right?

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Round 2, hp 25, stun 2/3

Seeing Darius finish the dwarf guard, Dakvor felt a bit of regret for the lethal blows that he unleashed after the dwarf sounded the alarm. ”Did he have a family to come home to? Was he expected for dinner by his wife tonight?” The half-orc monk suddenly thought of his mother then left in the monastery, trusting and understanding why he was on this sojourn. And of course, his stepfather. ”Oh father, what a terrible wind I am engulfed in right now!”

As the alarm brought a large horned beast, Dakvor quickly assessing that he could not close in to it, pulled out his light crossbow, and loaded a bolt. And while doing so speaks as well to the gaunt prisoner they were here to “rescue”.

”Oh yes your highness that is if you are what this cell is saying, do kindly assist us if you have any means.”

That’s all about what Dakvor can do in this round.

Male Half-orc Monk/Level 3

Since Barik is still standing and stunned, Dakvor will flurry him again without stun. This so we don't have to watch our back anymore and concentrate with this new beast 'come a-knockin on our door'.

Rolls::
First attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 Damage Roll: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Second attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Damage Roll: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Yep. Together with Vorik's Bone knight and those Brelander expressions the monk's been blurting out.
