![]() My best piece of advice is to read the guidelines extremely carefully. As in most places I suggest you take a good fifteen minutes or more (depending on how long the list of guidelines is) to read them. It will save you time and heartache in the long run. If I had followed my own advice I would have realized that my beautiful iron beard item didn't belong in this competition and I could have entered my ax which, while not as well designed, was a better fit for the competition and I could have fixed the design issues. ![]()

It drives me nuts, particularly because I have two English brains, one for my creative writing major and one for my professional/technical writing minor. But yeah, I find passives everywhere now. ![]()
![]() Tiny gods, but I'm glad I'm not the only one that decided to think on their feet. I kept reading about people tinkering with their ideas and thinking "well crap. I've had this idea for months, but I just wrote it up, double checked some rules, completely forgot how to format forum posts, and hit submit." All that said, I'm happy with it. ![]()
![]() Super happy. I have some qualms with the formatting I'm in the same place. I don't know that I'll get anywhere in the contest (although I am cautiously optimistic) but I'm really glad that I entered. If I don't go anywhere I get feedback on my design and I have found a wonderfully supportive and kind forum as a happy accident. So yeah, currently a blend of happy, excited, and super nervous. ![]()
![]() This is my first go around for this, but I just wanted to say that I'm super excited and proud of myself for entering. I'm also extremely proud of the rest of you for entering. It's terrifying and exciting. On top of that, I never expected the forums to be such a supportive place. You folks are amazing. I frequently tell my group that gaming is an exercise in mutual insanity. I create things for them in my head, and they enjoy them with characters that they created in their heads. It's amazing, and definitely crazy. So thank you. Everything about this would not exist without people to create them and people to enjoy them. We are all part of this wonderful exercise in mutual insanity. I'm proud of you all, for what that counts for. ![]()

Good to know that I'm not the only one. My friends say that my personality is about sixty percent dark humor and sarcasm, and forty percent paranoia. So if my paranoia skyrockets expect me to be locked in a basement pouring over old rulebooks... Wait, that's what I do now... ;D ![]()
![]() First timer here as well. I vaguely remember hearing about this last year, but I was unavoidably detained by my personal life mixed with some school crazy. I completely forgot that it existed until I saw a post on Tumblr a few weeks ago. I ran it by my group, and they said that I definitely had to enter. Facing that kind of enthusiasm and belief in my abilities, I was really left with no choice. I got some feedback and then just pulled the trigger. By the way, how freaking terrifying was it for the rest of all y'all? It is maybe one of the scariest things I've ever done in my life. |
