I really hope you're kidding. You're 17 pages in on a discussion of a widely read book series. If you don't want spoilers, don't read such discussions. It's ridiculous to put the burden on others for you not to learn something.

I really hope you're kidding. As the thread title points out this is a discussion of HBO's Game of Thrones, not George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series.

I don't think its too much to ask, or expect people to spoiler tag anythig pointing out differences between book and show or information that could spoil future episodes of the show. There is a whole other message board section for discussing books where book readers can discuss theories or events from the books without having to worry about ruining the experience for those viewing the show.

Edit: Oh, and THANKS ALOT for ruining Titanic, LOTR, and the New Testament for me ;)

Re: Harrenhal

** spoiler omitted **

spoiler:
It was in one of the early episodes in the season. Whatever episode they first found Qyburn (the Maester that treated Jaime and lost his chain for unethical experiments). If I recall it just kinda showed Rob and his army ride in to the Harrenhal courtyard, there wasn't much time spent on it.

Edit: Ninja'd by Tangible

Mine had one of the red scarf like decorations broken off on the left side as well as one of the smaller horns :( -- The figure looks fantastic though, i just wish it had arrive in one piece. Unfortunately the broken pieces weren't in the packaging so i can't glue them back on.

Replacements go through the manufacturer, but they're pretty good about it.

When I went to the replacement page for WizKids they don't have any of the Shattered Star miniatures in the product drop down for replacements yet. Hopefully they'll get that updated soon.

One of THE greatest shows ever!

If this happens that would be awesome.

Is there anything on Corspelight, Prince Ardurras II's undead destroying blade? Its mentioned in the same history section of the book, but haven't found any other references to it besides there.

It's described in Prince of Wolves (page 124) and it was stated up in an early issue of Kobold Quarterly.

[Edit] issue 14

Speaking of the Ustalav to-do list, everyone here has obviously read Rule of Fear, so aside from Kavapesta, what settings in that country would you most like to see further explored?

The following immediately come to mind--

Ghasterhall
Bastardhall
The Garden of Lead
Galdyce's (sp?) Castle at Grayce
Corvischoir

Also, who decided monks can't be turned into Werewolves? Stupid immunity to diseases. He got bit like 8 times during the adventure!

It's not a disease, it's a curse (curse of lycanthropy), which a monk's purity of body wouldn't do jack against.

just sayin ;)

I have a few questions relevant to the Schloss Caromac portion of the adventure (and I'm sure I'll have more later):

(1) Does the Erinyes really have 3 shots from her bow per round? I assume that's only if she does full attack?

Yes, only if she takes a full attack. Her BAB is +9 and she has fast BAB progression, so at 9 HD she essentially gets the same number of attacks as a 9th level fighter (i.e. two, +9/+4). With rapid shot she can take an extra attack at her full BAB but all her attacks suffer -2 penalty, so you have +9/+9/+4, then add +6 to all of those for her Dex, +1 for the composite bows magical enhancement, and -2 for the extra shot which gets you to +14/+14/+9.

Voomer wrote:
And 2 attacks with her sword if doing full attack in melee?

Yes again.

Voomer wrote:
To what extent will she pursue PCs, either into the Living Museum or the mansion?

She is summoned by the trap which is essentially a summon monster IV spell:

"This spell summons an extraplanar creature (typically an outsider, elemental, or magical beast native to another plane). It appears where you designate and acts immediately, on your turn. It attacks your opponents to the best of its ability."
In other words she's going to go after any foes by any means necessary until they are dead or the 11 rounds on the summon monster IV spell expire and she goes poof.

Voomer wrote:
Can she be dismissed?

Via dismissal? I don't see why not.

Voomer wrote:
(2) Will the faceless flesh golem leave the museum to pursue PCs?

The adventure text says it searches for intruders in the museum, I plan on having it pursue any intruders it locates in the museum whereever they go, including outside the museum, intill it kills them or untill it is destroyed.

Voomer wrote:
And how many rounds for the golem to reach the lobby?

The adventure says the golem and it's "eyes" begin moving "slowly and quietly" through the museum looking for intruders. The golem is reliant on it's "eyes" to see where it's going, and if they are moving slowly and quietly they are probably creeping along by foot rather than flapping their bat wings; factor in half speed for Stealth and you take the homunculus speed from 20 ft. down to 10 ft. per round. I would say given the distance, plus navigating stairs and opening and doors that it would realistically take about 5 rounds to reach the lobby.

(3) How are you all dealing with "fine art" treasure -- sell for full value (like gems or jewelry) or half value (like magic items)?

If my PCs sell it to a collector that does not plan on trying to resell the item they should be able to get up to full value (depending on their Diplomacy and Appraise results to correctly value the object and negotiate the sale price). If they sell it to a store that plans on reselling the item they can get up to half price (again depending on their Diplomacy and Appraise results).

In my campaign I

I'm actually going in a very similar route.

long rambling post on my campaign ideas:
In fact it was while creating a family tree showing the Tar-Baphon lineage's roots reaching down to Galdana that I started wondering about the lack of Galdana heirs, which prompted this thread.

I'm going to modify things for my campaign a bit and have Abraun Chalest discover, while doing genealogy work for the Esoteric Order, the survival of the Tar-Baphon bloodline (via the Tavaton family--a name that is a bastardization of Tar-Baphon). Abraun Chalest thought nothing of this until he later discovered the Carrion Crown poem in a dusty old tome in the Quarterfaux Archives and realized that an heir of Tar-Baphon could potentially serve as a host to a resurrected Whispering Tyrant. He shared his fears with The Order, and then tore the poem in half, giving one half to the Esoteric Order's Haraday Theater Cathedral, and sending the other half to the Ventriloquist's Pulpit Cathedral for safekeeping.

A select few within the Order looked to their esteemed organization's history of safeguarding Ustalav from threat, and made the agonizing decision to start covertly eliminating the Tavaton family line. When Petros Lorrimor learned of this he intervened and tried to save some of the targeted heirs, one of which was an infant that he took in as his own child (Kendra). Others that he managed to save are two of the PCs in my campaign (this is unknown to them but will be revealed later in the campaign when, in a similar idea to yours, they find a copy of Chalest's Tar-Baphon lineage). Galdana, being too high profile to simply assassinate, is instead inducted into the Esoteric Order so that they can keep a close eye on him.

Years later, Adivion Adrisant (a former student of Lorrimor’s) returns from his travels abroad and delves into studies at the Quarterfaux Archives. While there he gains Chalest’s confidence and feigns friendship with the scholar. This leads to Adivion learning of the Whispering Tyrant Lineage and the Carrion Crown Poem.

Being a member of the Esoteric Order Adivion manages to gain access to and copy their half of the poem. He then heads to Lepidstadt to copy the other half. Unbeknownst to Adivion he triggered some silent alarm alerting the head of the Haraday Cathedral that someone had accessed the poem. This results in a warning being sent to the Ventriloquist’s Pulpit Cathedral. They send their half of the poem to Estovian (also a member of the Order) at Ascanor Lodge for safekeeping. Adivion arrives in Lepidstadt, only to find the other half of the poem already relocated. He learns that it was moved to Ascanor Lodge and, since the Whispering Way has some leverage over Estovian, Adivion is able to coerce him to show him the other half of the poem.

Finding all of Tar-Baphon heir’s dead or missing save for Galdana, Adivion then proceeds with his plans as outlined in AP6.

I’m trying to decide if I’ll have him discover Kendra is an heir as well and abduct her instead of Galdana.

Anyway, sounds like we have some similar ideas on this—many of mine were inspired by posts in the Carrion Crown AP message board threads.

Carrion Crown and Prince of Wolves spoilers follow

show:
It's revealed in the campaign that Lucinean Galdana is a distant blood relative to Tar Baphon, which brings up some questions regarding A.A's plan:

In David Gross's Prince of Wolves we find out Lucinean has a sister (who has a son Casomir that Lucinean has adopted as his heir). Is Lucinean's sister still alive? If so could A.A. use her for his plans or does she have a different mother or father than Lucinean? Could A.A. have targed Casomir for his plans?

I'm guessing Lucinean's age is anywhere between early 40's to late 50's and his description in Rule of Fear seems to portray him as a rake and a ladies man, isn't it likely that there are at least a few bastard's of the counts out there and if so wouldn't it be much easier for Adivion to just nab one of Lucinean's bastards?

I know I'm the DM (GM) and can do whatever I want but i'm curious to know what other's thoughts/speculations/ideas on this are.

Maybe Lucinean isnt in to the ladies; in fact maybe he and Prince Aduard III, who I think is in his mid sixties, both dont have any offspring for the same reason...

i'll be using a xorn mini.

Anyone else notice, in the scene with Pycelle and Tyrion (in the S2 Finale), how awesome the actor that played Pycelle was? All through the show, aside from one or two scenes, he's always acting befuddled and is constantly stumbling through what he is trying to say--but in THAT scene, we see how much of a facade that really is, the twinkle in Pycelle's eye, the subtle (okay not so subtle) smirking at Tyrion's situation, the coin, everything... that was just awesome!

I'm getting ready to start running CC...

I like it and I will probably be stealing this idea.

I plan on having the WW use the Beast to steal the Pnakotic Manuscripts instead of the Seasage Effigy, and then deliver the tome to the cult in Carrion Hill in exchange for the Seasage Effigy (which the cult will be in possession of). The WW will then use the Seasage Effigy to barter with the cult in Illmarsh for the Raven's Head.

Your idea on disrupting ley lines to weaken the holds on Tar-Baphon would fit nicely into a larger meta-plan of the Whispering Way.

Kudos!

So what did everyone think of last nights show?

Loved Theon's homecoming.

Balon's audience chamber with the octopus sculpture was badass.
Stannis' table is still awesome.
Melisandre can convert me to the Lord of Light any day.

So far season 2 is off to a good start--definetely feels like these early episodes are moving pieces around for some big events in the later half of the season.
