Appearance and Personality:
Similar to other Aasimars Crylar is taller than an average human at 6’2”. He clean shaven with a square jaw. He has long brown hair with deep golden eyes that give away his heavenly heritage. Not knowing his parents Crylar is convinced he could be a descendant of Ra himself. Crylar is kind to those that deserve it but can be cruel and hot tempered towards those that are not kind in return. He is a born leader and sees himself leading great armies in the name of Ra the sun god, vanquishing evils in the world. He is a positive influence on his companions often bolstering them in combat or healing the injured. Background:
Crylar was born in the desert province of Osirion but was abandoned as a baby. He was taken in by a temple of Ra in the capital city of Sothis. The priests and priestesses there raised him along with other orphans taken in by the local temple. He would often lead groups of Orphans around Sothis stealing to survive and causing trouble with the local authorities. After being caught and punished several times Crylar eventually developed an appreciation for the law, understanding the need for law and order.
As Crylar got older he became fascinated with the largest and most intricate buildings in the capitol city. Eventually he befriended one of the cities architects, a human named Hagar Solti who took Crylar on as an apprentice. Crylar divided his studies between the teachings of the priests of Ra and his love of architecture.
Crylar was immediately enamoured with the city of Magnimar. The city was like nothing he had ever seen and it seemed in a constant state of trying to outdo itself with every new structure that was erected. Eventually Crylar was able to branch out on his own and develop a decent reputation as a city architect. He continued to split his time between devotion to Ra and his love for structural design. He has been starting with small buildings for local citizens but hopes one day to be one of the cities greatest designers. Crylar dedicated much if his free time to studying the great monuments throughout the city. Over the years the citizens of Magnimar had discovered that certain rituals would imbue them with beneficial magic for the day to help them in life. Crylar had been blessed several times by these boons and had studied them intently. By the time Crylar was 30 he had ran into members of the Pathfinder society and had taken an interest in the lifestyle they led. Always searching for new discoveries and greater knowledge. Crylar now spends much of his time in Heidmarch Manor, a Pathfinder Lodge researching the discoveries the society has made and learning as much as he can from the other members. Soon he hopes to venture on his own on behalf of the Pathfinder society.

Eventually he befriended one of the cities architects, a human named Hagar Solti who took Crylar on as an apprentice. Crylar divided his studies between the teachings of the priests of Ra and his love of architecture. One day Hagar told him of a city to the north, through the inner sea and along the Acadian Ocean. Hagar described the city as a city of wonders. Structures the likes of which they had never seen. He described great monuments that granted powers to those that paid them worship. Hagar told Crylar he intended to travel to this city called Magnimar. There he would study and build great things, he offered to take Crylar with him if he so desired. He told him it was very doubtful he would find any followers of his religion that far north. They believed in different Gods out there than his Sun God. Crylar debated for several days before agreeing to go with Hagar. He knew that Ra had no boundaries and would watch over him no matter where he was. It pained him to leave the templars that were like family to him but the opportunity was too great to pass up. At the age of 20, Crylar embarked on a months long ship journey that would forever change his life. Crylar was immediately enamoured with the city of Magnimar. Round 13 Fort: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Juraan wrinkles his nose at the stench, but isn't overcome by it.
"Phah! We must be near the privy! he says out loud. Now with poor visibility, he shoots at the two ants above him
First the one to one side (red):
Next, the one right above him (green):
buffs, etc: • Long Thorn (+1 composite longbow, +1d6 acid damage)
• Gravity bow (base damage is 2d6) • Point-Blank Shot (+1 to hit/damage) • Arcane Strike (+3 damage) • Kythel's Blessing of Fervor (+2 to hit)

Round 12 "Allow Me", says Juraan, who shoots at the thug threatening Kikinnin (green): header:
I know I'm risking attacks of opportunity, but I'm assuming JJ has things
in his corner under control and those ants are not (much) danger. Longthorn, shot 1: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 312d6 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 + (5) = 20

Maxim Snaphånce wrote: Had Maxim agreed to allow the Strider's telepathic OOPSIES! Okay so I didn't read and absorb absolutely everything in those recent game play posts... *sigh* Fitting and ironic both; since that Juraan whinging about Maxim's impatience! :D

Hello, all! I'm back, or will be, soon I think, after a prolonged absence. It has been a long time, and I did miss it but I was caught up in a few real life problems. Not the least of which was my Mum passing away late last December; she was 90, and it was relatively quick. The fact I somehow misplaced most of my links and RPG files (read: I just plain forgot where I saved them) didn't help either, but I located them this morning. I'll try to get caught up, a bit, on the last sixteen months of posts. As best I can. I see everyone is now up to 13th level now. Well done, all. Any idea of how I should posit Juraan back into the campaign? Maybe something to do with his penchant for pranks and/or Shensen. Provided she's still about and that her and Juraan are still an item... @GM Ruseg: thanks for tracking me down via Facebook! @Kikkinnin: Has your Paladin missed Juraan's occasional abrassive attempts at diplomacy? Such that they are... As for this real life stuff; I know what you mean about Cabin Fever! Now I know why dogs really their 'walkies'. @Maxim: HI! Are you (the PC) still packing back the stogies? Had my own fun with online conference today; a strata council meeting on ZOOM that kept timing out on us. Lotsa fun (*sarcasm*)! @JJ:: HI! I bet JJ's missed Juraan's larks, japes, and frolics! @Marigold: HI! Still having those those horrid dreams (I'm talking about your PC, of course!)... @Kythel: We've not been introduced as yet. Juraan is the sorcerer who is mostly a team player but doesn't cause hi-jinx much at all. Well, actually, he does tend to do that rather a lot, to be honest... But in a nice way (usually)... ;)

After scarfing down a few pastries ... In a typically blunt and tactless manner, Sorkesh will ask the servants tending to them, "Who owns this posh place? MUST be minted!" Lack of tact: 1: How thick can he be? WIS check: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6 ...quite! 2: Can he charm is way out of it? diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 ... I doubt it This is in keeping with Sorkesh's character. Despite his upbringing, he's neither wise nor well versed in the social graces.

Round 1
Everyone gets +1 AC, +1 to hit, +1 reflex save and one extra attack per round for a full round action. That will last 8 rounds. Round 2
"Don't twitch, Kikinnin!" I will try dissolving that webbing. After protecting you first, of course.
Then tries to dissolve the webbing on Kikinnin with an acidic sphere:
flaming sphere (acid damage): 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 4, 4) + 3 = 12
@ GM Rusteg: I hope I understand the webbing rules correctly and that the webbing can be damaged by energy spells.

Juraan tries to kill the drider with a good dose of "arrow poisoning":
Round 7 long thorn (+1 comp longbow), first shot: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
long thorn (+1 comp longbow), second shot: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Round 8 long thorn (+1 comp longbow), first shot: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
long thorn (+1 comp longbow), second shot: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
"Need to practice on the range more" Juraan tells himself silently
Male Human Sorcerer (inactive)
Juraan will mostly follow Marigold's lead; although he'll be every bit as informal as ever... "I am Juraan Uthlatch. Like the others, I'm here to help save our home, Cauldron."
Inner Thoughts (Who am I?):
"Well, that is to say I'm not completely sure who I should be.
"Apart from knowing where my Earth and Dragon magics must have come from, "I know very little about my parents, or my past." "I too love Cauldron and her people.
Inner Thoughts (Who do I love?):
"Oh, yes, I definitely love the beautiful Shensen, the dark-skinned half elf.
"And my twin sister, Essodydd, of course. Haven't seen her for ages, though. "And my pranks are never dangerous, by the way." "What do I hate? That's easy! I hate feeling incapable!
Inner Thoughts (What do I hate?):
"Especially when my friends and I are in a tight spot.
"Seems to happen to us rather a lot, actually." GM Rusteg: Juraan will assume Lady Guardinal's spell is nigh on impossible for him to resist. So he won't even try to.

Round 1
Captain Collateral Damage: Is the interior of this room we're in devoid of obstacles that Bhookaaj can make use of?
Sound like it doesn't have obstacles like that. Just wanted to know if I have a chance to make use of either of his archetype abilties of Swinging Reposition or Scout's Charge. Preferably both, of couse!
Male Undine Rogue (inactive)
I ought not complain too much. I'm not spending cash to use this site. Although, this down time gave me a bit more time to review ancient Greek and Latin grammar before classes resume on the fifth. And I had even more time to enjoy getting another root canal!
Male Human Sorcerer (inactive)
I hope the site stays stable too... Oh well, at least it gave me a chance to review ancient Greek and Latin grammar a bit more the last couple of weeks (like, big whoop, eh?) AND I even got to hang out in the dentist's office for another root canal! Oh joy, oh rapture! :P

@ JJ: done! @ Kikinnin: I've assigned one potion of Cure Moderate Wounds on the loot sheet to you.
@ Maxim, Ryan, and Marigold: we have four potions of Cure Moderate Wounds.
Male Human Sorcerer (inactive)
@ JJ: right! I updated the sheet to put your Ring of Protection +1 into the current loot as a swap. And marked the last Hags' Ring of Protection +2 as claimed by you. The +1 Light Mace probably is best with you, as a DEX-based fighter. So, I'll put that as claimed by yourself too. I think the two potions of Cure Serious Wounds would probably be best to go with JJ and Kikinnin.
Male Human Sorcerer (inactive)
Like most the world over I'm a neutral, since Canada's not in the World Cup. As usual. I did enjoy the 5-0 win of Russia over the Saudis. Russia was pretty pumped over that win, of course. Despite being an own goal by Morocco in added time, Iran's 1-0 win was fun to watch. France would probably be my first choice. Even though they didn't look all that good beating Australia. Anyway, still lots of interesting group stage games to go!
Male Human Sorcerer (inactive)
Good thing I invested in that See Invisibility spell! Juraan takes one of the hags' rings of protection (if that's okay with the others):
Looking at the strange arrangement with the liquid pool, Juraan tries to analyse it: « דיטעקט מאַגיש » . . "detect magic", in terran

Bhookaaj tries talking to the constructs in a reasonable tone:
Azlanti:
"There are no authorized personel!"
"Everybody who knew about this place died thousands of years ago!" diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 19 I used Bengali from Google Translate for Azlanti, just because I could
Male Undine Rogue (inactive)
"It says something about research and 'Authorized Personnel Only'.
Bhookaaj then checks the entry for signs of traps: perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Male Undine Rogue (inactive)

"Sorry, Marigold, you're right."

Once he's clear of the crowd, Juraan stays out of the crowd and winds his way to Maavu's warehouse.
UMD and CLW rolls:
Using up two of the last four charges of my original wand of Cure Light Wounds. Going through the motions since a roll of 1 on UMD means I can't try again on that one item for another 24 hours. UMD attempt # 1: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15 … no! have to switch to the new one I bought from Skie
cure light wounds (wand) x 2: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (7, 5) + 2 = 14 That should leave me at 41/44 HP, with the non-lethal all cured up.
By time he gets to Maavu's warehouse, Juraan himself looks to be in reasonable shape.
When Maavu's said his piece, Juraan sweetly and calmly says, "I'm ever so glad to hear you're feeling guilty and that you're not mad." And then abruptly becomes livid, "But you are an … IDIOT!" he shouts briefly, before carrying on:
intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 Juraan is not in a good mood at all after almost being killed by a mob he couldn't retaliate against.

GM Rusteg, Marigold, and JJ:
At the academy library
"This is getting better by the minute!"
GM Rusteg, and the rest of the Cauldron Watchers:
Over a Pint or Six at the Tipped Tankard
"Well, I've been doing a bit of research on those two dragons, Gotrrod and Dhorlot."
"Dhorlot is a bit more problematic. And not just because I'm tied to him whether I like it or not"
"It's a guess on my part, but Dhorlot may have done that to more than just human women as well."
"Anyway, Skie and her late adventuring friends drove Dhorlot out of Cauldron about twenty years ago."
"Oh, yes, I also took the liberty of researching the Darklands in general."
"Marigold, JJ, and I also found out that the book that was stolen some time back by that weretigre and giant was the same book we've been looking for about this Smoking Eye business."
GM Rusteg: Juraan will share all he knows with Shensen as well.
He'll try to seek her input on style, and information, on what to put in his journal. He also wants to talk to Skie sometime about what she remembers about Dhorlot.
Male Human Sorcerer (inactive)
Okay, then. I've updated the loot sheet again.
Male Human Sorcerer (inactive)
"It's not from a game, no, Terram."
"But maybe, if Gretchyn will allow it, I can take you to practice with a bow."
Male Human Sorcerer (inactive)
Ryan: I see that, thanks. I also put down my name for claiming the +1 Returning Short spear from Hlanamm's workshop, as well as the scroll of Wall of Fire from Dhorlot's stash. Here are the current items claimed by party members:
That still leaves us a bit shy of 40,000 GP/Suns of loot to sell off.
Another haul or two and we can buy our own hall (or something like that).
Male Human Sorcerer (inactive)
Oi! Lots of posting today while I was out and about all day... :o ... backing up with a smidge of rubber time: "No, I have never seen that mark before today, Kikinnin."
... after Dolgrin's last bit: "That seems to fit with the odd dream that's woken Marigold on occasion."
Male Human Sorcerer (inactive)
"You're right, Marigold is healthy."
"I'm sure we'll argue later. We always do, it seems.", Juraan thinks...

While the dwarves do their work, Juraan talks to Marigold:
After that, he ponders his conversation with Dhorlot:
Male Human Sorcerer (inactive)
Windbag Alert! :o Juraan stiffens and sniffs briefly with indignation. "Thank you for talking sense, Marigold."
As soon as he's said his piece, Juraan shrugs with resignation.
Juraan just sits after saying his piece... Sorry for being a windbag these past few posts, Everyone.
Male Human Sorcerer (inactive)
Juraan pats Marigold on the shoulder, and with a nervous smile, whispers at her:
Halfling:
"Perhaps we can avoid a fight with honeyed words." He then walks past the others, and stands closer to the door and bows very deeply.
« სეტყვა, ო! ჩემი სახელია ჟურაანი და ეს ჩემი მეგობრები არიან. »
Draconic:
"Hail, O Great One! My name is Juraan, and these are my companions."
"It is a great honour to meet one so stalwart and regal." "By the grace of the fates, I myself have Black Drake blood in my veins." "Sadly, I don't know who my my esteemed drake ancestor was." "Since we fragile mortals are with lives and memories most brief. " "We ourselves are no friends of the fish-men, though." "They have tried killing us. Repeatedly. And we have left them profoundly disappointed." "We most certainly do not wish to fight with one so distinguished." "We merely seek to release a prisoner of theirs, and then we'll be on our merry way." GM Rusteg:
I know I'm laying it on a bit thick here.
In no small part simply because it is a black dragon. I'm hoping to talk our way out of a (tough!) fight we might be able to avoid. And also to see if I can flatter the dragon into giving us helpful information. diplomacy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 Oh, Phew! That's got to be the single longest dialogues in the campaign so far. Certainly from me, anyway.
