Male Halfling Master Summoner 5

Do the rune lords have any commands for the group from the missive I sent.

"Although I respect the Rune Lords, I doubt they would want a statue of a competing god in their town. I'm hesitant to even tell them this is here for fear that they may destroy it." Tom said as he cleared some of the overgrowth off the representation of his god.

Before the group set out, Tom knelt down and said a brief prayer asking Erastil to bless them on their journey.

"Oh. Good point. He's the traveling woodsy god or something, right? If that's the case I say just leave him where he is and forget about it. He likes nature. He's in nature. Problem solved. " **Brushes hands together in a dusting off motion. **

Regrouping some time to discuss plans:

"Here are my suggestions:" Schimtty replies

Put up signs, but otherwise ignore the trapped land for now. Reve is right. It's not our problem

We could burn the forest down with the irritating fey in it, though then we couldn't harvest the wood. Beyond that I say we call the rune lords. They may have more luck than us at finding and exterminating these buggers. The question becomes would they prefer to be bothered and have the wood or to not have the wood and not be bothered?

Spider's, Berries, Hermit: I'll send a few fire elementals into the swarm. That should take them out sufficiently. Then or during we can rip up those berry bushes. It'll give us some leverage with the alchemist. Alternately we could just kill the alchemist. I'm not sure how stable he is anyway. Clearly he's a bit mad.

Statue: We should probably ask the rune lords. They may or may not want that thing in town. If they do they can send the horror to bring it back.

I'll write a missive notating our progress and send it to the rune lords to see how they'd like to proceed in these matters.

Schmitty pens a note listing the progress and requests that the body of the stag lord be sent to their current location. Along with whatever else the group decides to request. After discussion and adding anything else form the companions he places it in a tube he hands it to his familiar who flies off toward the palace.

Feel free to respond as your own rune lord in memo form.

There's a rope across the river here. Looks like it used to have a ferry. There's some sort of bell... ding ding.

Out of the river rises a man. Obviously long dead. Putrescent Flesh and a dripping Ranseur. He walks across the water towards you.
"You are not my tormentors. Throw the Stag Lord's body into the river that I may look upon his death, or join me instead!"

"The Stag Lord is dead. My master and the other Runelords thoroughly trounced him and his men at his own keep. I believe we could probably find the body and throw it to you if that is your desire. Do you need the whole body or is just the head ok? If just the head then we'll be able to do that much quicker. "

If just the head we can send the elemental to go fetch it. Shouldn't take too long. Perhaps a day to send a note explaining then the rerun trip with the head in a hat box.

wow - good question... given no-one ever really saw his head well I think you would need the whole body though.

"Give me his body."

"That'll take a little more time, but your bargain is agreeable. We'll return. "

There is some crazy Alchemist named Bokken here.
While not formally educated he seems to have an instinct for alchemy and potion making. He also like being surrounded by wilderness and might be prepared to fight developing his hex, as well as being competition for your city's alchemical exploits.

Can Make a Diplomay check to influence Bokken. At the start he is Hostile to most people.

"My good man, there's no need for this hostility between us. Our kingdom is here to stay and we wish nothing but peace with our neighbors. Surely we can come to some sort of mutually beneficial arrangement."

FYI: The plan when we come across anything questionable is to send summoned creatures first to test for traps and soften up any resistance. No sense in risking ourselves needlessly.

I wasn't sure. Thank you.

When his turn rolls around Schmitty takes a standard action to cast a spell (Infernal Healing). He loses one hit point, falling unconscious, but quickly comes to as the spell does it's work.

Over the course of the next minute, Schmitty's wounds seem to knit themselves together.

Evan shares his tactical insight with the party while changing the direction of his movement.

The gnoll on the ground near Karg continue to bleed, while the one near Schmitty manages to strike the halfling just before it collapses. 8 more damage to Schmitty.

Schmitty falls unconscious, Chavi vanishes (-6 HP)

Male Halfling Master Summoner 5

Chavi tries to take a bite out of the closest Gnoll and Shimitty fires a crossbow bolt at it.

Bite 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 91d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Crossbow 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 221d6 ⇒ 6

Chavi can move up to 100 ft. with Schmitty being able to cast a spell (Concentration DC 10 + spell level), or Chavi can move between 101 ft and 200 ft. with Schmitty being able to cast a spell (Concentration DC 15 + spell level). As pointed out below, normally you're only allowed to cast once the mount has moved double its speed, but I'll allow casting at the end of Chavi's movement with a Concentration check (DC 20 + spell level).

Casting Spells While Mounted

That's a variant from the corebook. Corebook says's the vigorous motion part, which is why I had Chavi stop before I cast. However, in light of this I'll just have Chavi close the distance this round and I'll base next round's actions based on what the situation looks like then.

Schmitty readies an action to fire a glob of acid at the gnoll on the horses when Chavi gets within range and stops moving.

Acid Splash Touch attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 181d3 ⇒ 3

Male Halfling Master Summoner 5

Schmitty fires his crossbow at the closest enemy

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 61d6 ⇒ 3 (Add +1 to hit if the enemy is within 30'; Also no penalty for firing into Melee due to precise shot.)

Rat does its thing against the nearest enemy 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 81d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Chavi remains still so schmiftty can fire his crossbow at The closest one.

Going to stick with summoning celestial dire rat

Male Halfling Master Summoner 5

DM Black Fang,

If it's ok with you I realized I needed to alter a few minor things (that havent come into play yet).

I changed out the level one Summoner spell Summon MOnster I with Infernal healing. It was kind of a stupid choice since I have the Summon Monster I SLA. Don't know what i was thinking.

Since I'm going the Master SUmmoner route Chavi is no longer going to be a battle monster. I removed claws and Skilled (perception) in order to add Limbs (legs) for a little speed boost. I'd prefer her 4 legs simply be more efficient instead of actually adding a pair of legs. Mechanically it will be the same, but in the end it's your call.

If these minor changes are not ok just let me know and I'll put everything back the way it was until I can change it officially.

Male Halfling Master Summoner 5

When the time is right Schmitty says
"I'll flush them out."
He then makes a gesture toward where he saw some of them earlier and a giant rat with golden radiance appears and tries to bite the closest one.

1d20+7 Concentration (DC10) second attempt to use Message to talk to Niko. I don't know what we're facing. As Schmitty looks around, he barely notices the moon full and bright behind a sky blocking out all star and moonlight. Chavi, however can see just fine.

If by "little", you mean "hard enough to leave a bruise for a couple days", then yes. Probably 1 HP of non-lethal damage should be recorded :)

That's exactly what I meant, but I didn't want to take over your characters actions

Shmitty yelps "OW!" at his rough awakening and gives Karg a dirty look, but otherwise lets the incident go.

Male Halfling Master Summoner 5

On first attempt Schmitty is in deep slumber and simply rolls to his side and pulls the blanket over himself making a "Harump" sound as he turns. Presumably Karg kicks him a little harder and schmitty jumps up startled eyes momentarily both wild and sleepy.

"Oh, " he grumbles, "It must be my turn." Schmitty says as he yawns and stretces.

Schmitty spends the next minute drawing a circle in the dirt with various sigils. As he closes the circle there is a dim luminescence in the sigils and with a slight displacement of air Chavi appears. As the runes on the circle light so too do the matching glowing runes on both Chavi and Schmitty's head. Schmitty scratches her under the chin and shares whatever food is available with her.

"It's our turn at watch." Chavi nods and proceeds to circle the camp keeping an eye out. Schmitty pulls up a chair/box and proceeds to study his spellbook by a dim light floating over his head like a lamp.

Male Halfling Master Summoner 5

Schmitty continues to make quiet sleeping sounds unless he is awaken.

Male Halfling Master Summoner 5

Note: chavi turned to mist and vanishes when Schmitty falls asleep. The glowing runs on his forehead fades also and in similar fashion.

Male Halfling Master Summoner 5

"I suppose I'll take last watch. It will give me a chance to renew my spells, though I haven't really used any today. It is a good practice though." Schmitty says, then thinks to himself "I guess. I've never had to keep watches before."
