I apologize if this has already been asked and answered. I looked on the forums, but didn't have any luck finding an answer already.

I'm playing a Gunslinger and at the moment his Gunslinger level is currently 5. I'm planning on picking up Shieldmarshal soon and noticed while I was looking through the class features the following:

"Gunmarshal (Ex): Starting at 2nd level, a shieldmarshal gains deeds as a gunslinger of half his level. If he also has gunslinger levels, these levels stack..."

Does this mean that, once I attain my 2nd level in Shieldmarshal, my Gunslinger level is effectively 6? Likewise, once I reach the 4th Shieldmarshal level I've got an effectively level 7 in Gunslinger?

I'm pretty sure that is the case, but the way Hero Lab is behaving seems to indicate otherwise.
