Wow, that's cool, but SERIOUSLY underpriced.
Ok, I'm really digging a few of the boot offerings this year.
You know what this round needed? More gloves.
Why...with the rhyming...
The formatting is hurting my brain. There is a preview button, yes?
I see what you were talking about with this barrel. When was the last time anybody cleaned this thing?
Ultimately, this is a writing contest. An entry that is super short doesn't give me any glimpse of how you write (and probably doesn't have enough information to get me interested in your item).
You had me until you threw a random origin story in at the end. Sometimes less is more.
My eyes were ready to glaze over when I saw the wall of text, but the item description drew me in. Well played.

Spellcheck. It exists for a reason.

Good relabel. Thank you for the clarification.
I don't really have an issue with the gloves vs. another slot, because the flavor you gave their activation was very vivid. Well priced, neat ability and decent, understandable trade off (if you're focused on the dead, the living might get the drop on you. Kinda like looking at one of those Magic Eye posters while someone sneaks up on you). Keep that mojo flowing for your organization!
This is really clever! Low level, fills a niche (sometimes it feels like everything has already been done), I'd buy it. You'd get my vote!
I'm amused that the price is so high for something that nobody would ever WANT to buy (perhaps it could come attached to 4,000 gp? Like a piece of gum in a pack of baseball cards?), but the flavor of this item is really great. The abundance of parentheses in the last paragraph was a little much for me, but overall a good showing.
What a roller coaster of a day for you! You're in, but as an alternate and what are the odds of someone...hey, wait, you've made it! Congrats and enjoy the ride!
Well done, everyone! I'm looking forward to reading about these items later this evening.
I'm looking forward to reading the winning entries! For all those who came thisclose, keep the faith and pick up tips for next year. C'mon 2 o'clock!

Well done, Top 8!
I didn't even enter an item and I am nervous for all of the contestants! Good luck!

Wow! That is shameless! :p

And while we're on the topic of apologies...
I'd like to apologize for any and all back-stage drama, histrionics, hubris, pandering, poor message-board etiquette, shameless self-promotion, tacky attempts at calling attention to myself, whining, and other unprofessional behavior.
Don't know about the other stuff, but I thought that shameless self-promotion was expected?
Sorry to the OP about hijacking the thread.

Not sure how well this will work....perhaps all Top 8 member villains should have been randomly dealt out, so that there was no choice in the matter. I would think of that as more of a freelance challenge.
I agree that it would be more of a challenge, but for the purposes of this challenge some would get front runners with built-in support and some would get neat, but less regaled villains. Letting people choose was the right move here.
I find this turn of events fascinating. Stat blocks aren't really my thing, so I'm happy to be able to get into this round. I remember that there was speculation that the judges would do this sort of thing (villain switcheroo) for the stat block round. Funny how it ended up coming to pass, but at a later timetable....
In another form (easier for me to see what's going on):
18--Kevin Carter— Malgana the Twistwood Lich
13--Eric Bailey— Vashkar, the False Maharajah
11--Randy Dorman— Hecataeus, Master of Constructs
10--Neil Spicer— Gulga Cench, Scion of Cyth-V'sug
8--Joshua Blazej— Derinogen, Aristocratic Mage
5--James F.D. Graham— Count Falconbridge, Fate's Adversary
5--Matthew Stinson— Sartel Bollen, Mistress of the Headless Caravan
4--Trevor Gulliver— Bracht Darkhouse, The Flesh Peddler
2--Matt Banach— Rustin Harp, the Vengeance of Freaks
1--Doyle Tavener— Kar-En-Helit, Vessel of Moeris
1--Eric Morton— Aelfric Dream-Slayer
1--Jacob Manley— Volner Tain
1--Mark Thomas— Lord Jeroim Borloz, the Diamond Dragon
1--Philip Snyder— Ryth'a
1--Vladislav Rashkovski— Kardam, the Burning Khan
0?--Carl Klutzke— Sharina, Legend Singer
0--Joao Beraldo— Boemundo, Brenno's Shadow Protector

Thank you for typing up this list that I could just copy and paste. A little confused, though...could not find the Sharina vote. Probably my bad math (which is ironic on a stat block round). Can someone point me to it?
