Clara will make sure everyone is healed up as best she can including the guards and minotaurs. She will do her best to build positive relations with the minotaurs, hoping to set up the possibility of longer-term cooperative agreements.

If it is feasible, she will also suggest they return to town to see the guards safe, check on the others who were injured, and escort Inisa back to Absalom.

"We should probably escort these fine fellows back to town, though if they are up for it we could swing by the minotaurs to show them that we have not only defeated the harpy but freed those being so cruelly used.

"It would be good to set up communications between their tribe and the Society and see if we can provide them with some temporary aid. It never hurts to build good relations."

Clara looks at the rod and shivers.

To the newly functioning humans she says, "Surrender accepted, though quite unnecessary now you are yourselves. Once everyone is patched up and we have found what we came for I would love to hear your stories. We can also escort you back to town."

Her first action is to head over to Doreen where she calls upon Sarenrae to provide healing.

Clara then joins in the search of the cave looking for the relic and anything else of interest, being careful to check for traps both physical and magical.

I didn't think these guys were undead. If they are, that would change my approach. I thought they were living but enthralled. We saw them struggling against their own actions.

Seeing Doreen go down hard, Clara immediately casts Stabilize upon him. The soft glow of positive energy shuts death’s door. The target loses the dying condition, though it remains unconscious at 0 Hit Points.

Clara chose, possibly unwisely, to not use her shield to block. Took full damage from the morning star and the other two did not connect. The next morning star that connects or any critical hit will be met with a shield block.

Unhappy with her current situation, Clara is more than happy to acquiesce to Banterknell's request though not before she takes a swipe at the harpy with her scimitar.

I am not sure where everyone is based and if you observe Thanksgiving tomorrow.

I am happy to keep playing through Thanksgiving, though our family will be spending some time with friends tomorrow I should be able to read and post at least once. I don't mind if others are not available, family first.

I will be attending a games convention Friday through Sunday. I still expect to be able to post at least once a day, however, I may be a bit slow and if there is too much chaos I may miss a day. Feel free to bot me as needed.

Clara also moves forward, (I am not sure if we are moving as a group within the invisibility and then all taking our more aggressive/noisy actions) and then, enraged by the evil of enthralling others and making undead Clara brandishes her scimitar with the holy symbol clearly glowing and she calls out...

"I beseech thee Sarenrae to grant me the power to deliver your judgment on this evil creature!"

She thrusts her hand forward and sends a ray of Searing Light blazing with holy energy, streaming toward the harpy.

I really want to step away from these things but I must stay and help.

Clara lifts her voice in prayer and adoration to Sarenrae, her arms perform a complex set of graceful gestures as she turns in a full circle. She concentrates on her holy symbol and channels positive energy until it radiates around her healing her friends and harming the undead who threaten them.

Clara thanks the minotaurs for the wax, then Pierce and Doreen for their assistance in crafting the earplugs. As she carefully repacks her gear she makes sure to keep the earplugs handy where she can swiftly use them when they are close to the cave or the first sign of a harpy.

As long as it does not slow the party, Clara will walk rather than ride. She will be seeking traps, enemies, and other dangers as she travels.

"Even after death? So we will be facing undead as well? This is good to know in advance, thank you."

Clara relays this information to her companions when they are planning. She adds, "I can pray to Sarenrae to disrupt undead which will affect one within 30 feet of me, I can also ask for stronger guidance to channel which should affect all of them within 30 ft of me as well as heal any of you within the aura.

"Does anyone have holy water with them? Or anything else that may help other than cutting them down where they stand?

"I normally have both holy water and candles with me and seem to be short on both in my supplies. I apologise for being less prepared than usual. I had hoped to use the beeswax of the candles to fashion earplugs for each of us. Does anyone else have suggestions? I may be able to use some of my medical supplies to fashion some if we have nothing else."

Later as they discuss the harpy,"Regarding the harpy, with Sarenrae's blessing I may be able to send fire his way even at range. Closer in, I have my sling, though I am less effective with it than I'd like."

It is my thought that if we know enough to think of these things we should ascertain what range weapons we have available and if perhaps the minotaurs may have something appropriate we can use if needed. Also, subject to character knowledge, it would be good to try to fashion some earplugs to try to reduce the risk of succumbing to its song.

Clara addresses Mildora, "Your warriors fought well, that you have had such trouble with this harpy says a lot. What else can you tell us about the situation? What tactics have worked best for you? Is there anything we shouldn't consider as it has proved ineffective? You mentioned he has creatures in thrall to him, what can you tell us about them? Are there any other local threats we should be aware of as we travel to his cave? I'd rather we were not taken unaware before we even reach him."

Later, when the team is alone and they have a chance to plan ...

"What can we recall about harpies? It would be good to have a basic plan in mind before we face him."

Clara groans, thinking to herself You need to learn how to better position yourself, woman.

Holding up her free hand she sheaths her scimitar then backs away to clearly indicate she is no longer engaged. Clara will engage in no new activity to aid the fight, though she does subtly maintain her concentration on the Bane spell already in effect hoping it will aid her friends at least a little.

Just catching up and haven't read all the way through yet, but Bane was in effect which means all their attacks were -1. I believe that should mean no crit on Banterknell.

To clarify Clara's intent:
a) before the event begins - heal any party members that need it. Once they let me know I will track the use of healing.
b) immediately prior to rounds, cast bane. This provides a 30 ft aura where "Divine censure makes it difficult for your enemies to attack. Targets take a –1 conditional penalty to attack rolls."
c)co-operate with any position changes my teammates desire

I believe the duration is by concentration, yes. Most things are these days if they have a duration at all.

The scroll could still be useful as a counter to Bane if the situation should arise.

Starting Inspire Courage just before the combat begins would be appreciated.

I will start Bane and maintain it as long as I can.

Seeing the scroll in Banterknell's hand she Clara asks the gnome, "Are you not intending to entertain and inspire us while we work?"
I believe that Bless and Inspire Courage do not stack in this version of the game.

Clara is also ready to cast Bane just before battle begins if it is allowed. Once she has ensured all of her party are fully healed, she will draw her scimitar in readiness.

They always need good warriors and also value contacts both geographically and socially diverse. Peace may be preferable but we are not reluctant to fight when there is need."

In a very quiet aside to the others, Clara adds, "If this doesn't work, being a more warlike tribe, they may respond better to intimidation."

Not that it really makes any difference, I thought we had both the minotaurs with us as I had treated the one that initially went down.

"First, please let me apologize that none of us knows your language. I am grateful you know ours so that we may communicate more readily. We are Pathfinders, sent here to determine what happened to our colleague and to retrieve a small item that was en route to our lodge. When we came across the remains of the caravan, these two fellows attacked. I would like to understand why first the caravan and then our party were subject to such hostility. I prefer to work in harmony with others and in general, so does the Society. If we can live peaceably and cooperatively it benefits all."

Clara realises she needs to sneak away and rejoin her party. She quietly drops back until she can drop off to the side without the minotaurs noticing.

Leaving her mount tethered off the path, Clara proceeds on foot to join the others.

"Are you Inisa? What happened? We were sent to find the clasp and hopefully you. I am glad you are still alive. What can you tell us about the situation? Do you need any healing?"

Clara is a little confused but hopes this may indicate that if they go with them, someone in the minotaur tribe will be able to talk with them.

"Perhaps we should accompany these guys back to their home and see if we can find out more. If we are discreet, we may be able to keep an eye on the other tracks too, then perhaps we can also find Inisa."

With that, Clara gathers some of the gear and items they found, collects her tethered mount, and looks to the others expectantly.

"I wish there was a way to convince them to stop attacking the caravans. I'd like to let them go or escort them back to their tribe and try to establish better relations but I think perhaps following the human prints may lead us to Inisa. Maybe we could let them go first then follow and hope to find Inisa. If we don't find her we could make contact with the Minotaur tribe and hope that our treatment of these two will encourage them to cooperate.
