About Claire Evans

Current Condition:
HP 16/16
Encumbrance: Light
Status: Content

Appearance:
A bear of a woman, she stands near 6 feet tall and a good deal wide, well toned muscles coating her body. Her skin has the tan of a person who spends much time in the sun, and is riddled with scars of every sort of claw, bite, and gash coating her arms and legs. Along side the multitude of scars lay tribal tattoo's, a deep blue color snaking up her legs and arms to disappear into her clothing, only to reappear as a singly vine crawling up to her right eye. A Mane of dark brown hair cascades from her head, reaching down to mid back and repetitively unkempt. Deep blue eyes stare out from her sockets, looking for potential enemies at all times.

Her garb consists of simple furs and hide armor, a hide lion cloth and hide top connecting with the furs that keep the top and the bottom as one piece. Curiously her arms and legs are uncovered, not even wearing proper shoes, but a pair of strange, corded sandals that where held on connected at the ankle. A massively long blade lays strapped to the hide on her back, stored in it's sheath. The blade itself measures around 5 feet in length, and about6 inches in width. It has a odd design of a handle built in right into the blade above the normal handle, allowing the wielder to grab it at two different spaces to help with the swings of the massive weapon.

Background:
Claire grew from a young age as a simple hunter, from a long line of hunters living in the Barrowood; going back at least 7 generations. Her upbringing was one of hard work and disappointment, as she was the first child born to her late mother, and her family's traditions where to train the firstborn to be the lead huntsman of the family. With no brothers she was raised to take over the family business, hunting the Barrowood and selling the furs and extra meat to trades who would come near by. By the time she was 17 her father had passed away, leaving her alone to care for the family; or atleast it had seemed that way until a man came to the lodge claiming to be her grandfather; a rather large man past his prime yet still well fit. Immature she quickly let him take command until she felt ready; how ever he was there for another reason all togeather. After a serres of odd tests and trails her and her younger sister had to go through he deemed them to 'Have the Bear within their hearts'.

At that point he promptly changed his form in front of them, claws and fur sprouting upon his arms and legs. For some reason this did not scare the two girls as it should have, and the man quickly explained the family's rich history, as well as the reasons why their family has existed in solitude in the Wood for so long. After learning they had been decedents of a fears Were-bear he taught him the ways of the bear, harnessing the inner potential and ferocity, before the two quickly grew to be able to replicate the process themselves.

After a few years the old man passed, but he did not simply fade away, no her took the two girls into the woods and showed him how a true werebear goes out; challenging a entire den of wolves to combat before going down, the slack being picked up by the sisters. When they returned home they found a well written letter advising them to leave their home and make their new home on the outskirts of Westcrown; That if they continued to live out where no man could enjoy their presence that all that awaited them was a warriors death in the forest. The note also went on to mention a small fortune that he had left him from his days as a 'Bear Wrestler' was waiting for them inside of the city held by a friend.

It was once they arrived in the city that they found out their grandfather was the younger brother of their father's father, and was their great uncle, who had came to Westcrown as a performer, and made show sport out of fighting wild animals for the show of any who payed the admition. Taking the money and spending most of it building a small shack on the skirts of Dhaenfen they make a simple living hunting and taking the food and skins directly into the city, where people may call them savages but at least acknowledge them.
