Seems a shame that clerics have to build charisma for Channel Energy. It really reduces build choice. By my count 22/33 cleric class feats are are built around Channel Energy.

For flavor reasons I'm trying to build a ranged Goblin Alchemist with no legs. I'd like to have a mount at level 1 that I can keep throughout the campaign (best of friends). If I wanted an exotic mount (like a giant beetle), could I take my first level as a Hunter and then switch to an Alchemist archetype with an Animal Companion going forward (like Winged Marauder)?

The Hunter Animal Companion entry reads:
"If a character receives an animal companion from more than one source, her effective druid levels stack for the purposes of determining the companion’s statistics and abilities."

I'm looking for a cool way to get a huge army from deep in the earth to pour out onto the surface world. Any suggestions for something other than teleporting?

Background:
An evil ruler is secretly drilling a giant hole below his castle at the request of his evil master. Once it's completed, a dark army will launch a surprise war on the surface lands.

Limitations:
1.) The hole will be roughly 30,000 feet (9km) deep and 30 feet (10m) wide when completed (subject to changes if needed).
2.) The hole goes straight down and is being drilled using some kind of burning laser magic or something (I'm not envisioning some dramatic mining machine reaching down from the surface).
3.) The hole isn't a sealed cylinder. It connects to lots of random caves and tunnels. In other words, there are, at some points, big gaps in the walls from natural phenomena.
4.) The journey shouldn't take forever (I'm thinking hours or days, not months).

Thanks for the input everyone! I decided to mess with gravity, and add a white hole (opposite of black hole) type object into the story. SlimGauge should get some credit for saying it first, but
Laiho Vanallo really captured my imagination.

My level 1 party is about to be maliciously dropped about 14,000ft (should take about 68 seconds or 11 rounds) into a cavern that they will have to hike through to escape. Any ideas for plausibly surviving the fall that are more fun than just somehow getting Feather Fall on everyone?

I'm creating a campaign where the party starts (level 1) abandoned in an uncharted land with relatively few humanoids. I'd like to:
A.) Avoid miraculously stumbling onto a village every time they need to buy.
B.) Avoid every treasure they find having exactly the gear they need.
C.) Give them choices about their equipment (at least some).

Looking for some creative ways to mix it up. Thanks.

Yes, you are thinking too much as barbarian. Clear your mind and just use your (Su)!

Skizm, can you break it down for a guy with low Int? Are you saying Chaos Totem overrides the limitation on Escape Artist?

Chaos Totem (Su): While raging, the barbarian’s form becomes infused with chaos. She gains a +4 bonus on Escape Artist checks and has a 25% chance to ignore extra damage from critical hits and sneak attacks.

Rage (Ex): ...While in rage, a barbarian cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration.

Confused about why the Chaos Totem rage power gives a bonus to Escape Artist, a skill that can't be used during rage. Am I missing something?
