About Chimaeryus

History:

Some say forlorn elves are the loneliest men but at least are accepted by some strangers here and there, others say half elves are loneliest for they outlive their human companions, and never truly gain acceptance from their kin on either parents side, and others will even argue it must be the half orcs that are loneliest, because humans will never trust them, and their orcish kin will slaughter them for their weakness. I as a matter of fact disagree with all of these notions; you see I am not fully an elf, a human, nor an orc. I am some vile amalgamation of the three, with just a bit of dragons blood mixed in to muddy the waters even more. Unlike true half breeds I was not born from a forbidden love, insatiable lust, or even forced passion. I was birthed in a laboratory, and given the moniker and designation experiment 77 when I was birthed.

Deep in the jungles of Mediogalti Island, there was once a facility dedicated to the creation and breeding of the ultimate killing machine. I was the 77th breeding program result hence my creative name. I lived the majority of my life within the confines of the facility I called home. In truth the facility was what most would consider a prison. The results of the many experiments mattered very little in the end, and whether a specimen was viable or dead mattered not. Those that had not real life, were given false life and kept in their cells as well. In all actuality even I was deemed both a failure and also a “step in the right direction” initially. I was the first successful birth of a creature that contained human, elf, and orc blood in equal quotient. Sadly I inherited very little from any of them if I had to say so myself. I lack the Orcs prowess, the Elves intellect, and the Humans adaptability. I have no doubt that I would have been eliminated like so many of the other experimients had I not shown some small inborn aptitude for the arcane arts. Despite the variable amounts of blood from so many races coursing through my veins, it was the hint of red dragon blood that I believe spared my life. Though I was not the apex and paragon product the facility intended on creating, my magical blood could be used for future breeding projects bringing the facility closer to obtaining that particular goal. I was paired with a rather large orc woman, whose skin was as red as blood, she only had one eye, it was yellow, and where the other eye should have been was a large black pearl. She was designated experiment 96 but I learned to call her something else. Our relationship was not one of love per say, and for the longest time I was not even sure she was capable of communication. When she desired, she had her way with me; there was nothing I could do to stop it. She called herself Oska, and in time I learned that was the only word she knew or used. I know our trysts produced one child, but whatever happened to him or her after birth I’ll probably never be privy to.

One fateful day things changed, magical alarms sounded throughout the cell block. A guard must have forgot to lock the wing containing the unliving. Dozens of undead poured into our wing of the facility and began feasting on the other inhabitants of our block, by luck and luck alone Oska and I were being transported for a battery of tests at that particular moment. When the hosts of ghastly monsters descended upon the guards and the other prisoners, Oska and I managed to escape. We ran as our lives depended on it. Everything was, and still is to this day just a blur to me. I have no idea how we escaped the building that eventful day. All I do remember from that moment was the first time my eyes ever saw the damned rays of the sun. Both Oska and I were blinded and it took us quite the moment to get our wits about us. Despite the thick canopy of the jungle the light of the sun was much stronger than either of us had ever imagined, our virgin eyes watered in pain. I was indeed lucky that Oska was a natural hunter. Her orc blood was true and she was fierce to behold while she was hunting. Occasionally I would use my magic to knock a monkey from a tree and we would eat it as well. It wasn’t until years later I learned how unlikely and lucky our survival really was on the wild jungle island of Mediogalti.

To summarize how things happend after our escape, we lived, hunted and loved per say for over a year, we were eventually captured by a tribe of native Lizardfolk, unwittingly freed by some pirates before the Lizardmen tribe could eat us, forced to join this pirate crew as cabin hands on their ship, shipwrecked on a coral reef during a large storm, marooned on a nearby sandbar, “rescued” by the Kaneano, we had to trade Oska’s eye with the Adaro for both the crews life and another "salvaged" boat. After trading her eye the captain was so grateful he had us around he granted each of us one wish. Oska wished to be set free and run wild in the jungles of Mediogalti Island or at least that is how the Captain interpretted her wild hand motions and gestures. I requested to be taken as far from the island as possible. My wish granted I travelled the world onboard our new ship, the Crusty Skallywag for a few months, the medic onboard was a young man named Yvos a priest dedicated to Pharasma and her tenants. He taught me that despite my origin I had a soul, and that Pharasma would judge me for my actions and my actions alone. That fact coupled with my near "undeath" experience lead me to become a devout Pharasman.

After months at sea working in the galley and taking leave in various ports we landed in Absalom Harbor, I beheld the beauties in and around this great city and realized that in all of the places the ship has taken me this is the only place I even remotely fit in. All in this one melting pot of a city there were humanoids of all forms and types: some with horns, some with halos, some with feathers, some with fur, and some that were far stranger than even I to be honest. I decided that I would make my home in this so called city in the center of the world. Now deciding and doing are two completely different things, and I was having a hard time finding a suitable vocation in my new found home. I took a job as a dung sweeper for a good long while, and that was all I needed really, but I yearned to utilize the magic manifesting in my blood. One fateful afternoon I noticed a flyer asking if I had what it took to become a Pathfinder Agent, I decided that it could not be much harder than anything Oska or the pirates put me through so I applied for initiation. My time with the Masters was not particularly memorable I was just an average initiate. I learned a few things while there like the elven language, how to strengthen my weak mind, and how to use magical contraptions of all sorts. One item I was tasked with prior to my commencement was coming up with a suitable moniker for myself. I was told Experiment 77 was not an acceptable name, and additionally I should make no further mention of the facility I was born in, or even any word concerning Mediogalti Island and my history ever again. I finally decided to call myself Chimaeryus which is based off of a creature Master Arum taught me about. It is a bizarre creature that is part lion, part snake and part goat. It turns out that the society is one of the only places a man that is part human, part elf, part orc, and a little dragon can fit in, and perhaps even prosper.

Grandmaster Torch has taught me that all agents are equals and that we should not be treated as expendable fodder, considering everything that has happened in my life I find it easy to believe in his views. He however betrayed the society before I could be given any real missions and worried about my future. Disenfranchised with the whole decemvirate I decided to head to Kaer Maga, a city that has a reputation for accepting anybody and having a large temple devoted to Pharasma. I am supposed to convoy with some Varisian "merchants" there once I arrive in Magnimar, after a small overnight layover in Sandpoint for some stupid moth festical.
