Background:
Charles was born and raised on the outskirts Kessen, though his parents died years ago. Both of his parents were good to him. His father taught him how to live off the land while his mother made sure he did his studies and looked after his younger siblings. He ended up going off to Anderson Academy in the city and spent several years studying magic. He found that his father's lessons with various plants proved very useful for his alchemy classes. Charles' studies went well and he enjoyed the diversity of topics at his fingertips, but found academic life a bit to stoic.

He moved back to Kassen when his father died and continued studying some on his own at a much slower pace than at the university. But he was back helping take care of his mother and younger siblings. As years went by, a couple of his siblings moved away, his brother Thom taking to academic studies far better than himself. But he found that the people of Kassen generally appreciated the studies that he completed and quickly found his place in the town. His various poultices and tinctures were received well by the townsfolk and his knowledge was put to good use. He left Father Prasst to do actual healing, but is able to help his neighbors with natural remedies and regularly assists the Father when needed.

Charles has brown hair that is starting to show some grey and wears a white tunic and grey breeches. He normally wears a maroon cloak that he uses to keep himself warm on cool evenings. Roger, his weasel, can often be seen poking his head out of the pocket of Charles' breeches or his backpack. Roger's fur is a sleek solid brown and has a particular fondness for fish.
