Anything?

This is not the Paizo I was a Charter Superscriber of.

I received this shipment today. I know Ghosts of Albion was moved out of this shipment. The shipping list says the "Kobold Guide to Board Game Design Print" is in the shipment, however, it is missing. Perhaps you can confirm this by looking at the UPS shipment weight? Please include this missing item in my next available subscription shipment.

If you cannot ship this order by March 26 (61 days since the order was placed), please cancel this order.

Hello,

I'd like to inquire about my order above. I noticed that an order I placed yesterday went right out, while the order above remains. A couple of the products in this order seem to be going in and out of stock since I placed the order, and I'm starting to wonder if there will be any for my order.

Thank you for your attention.

Charles

Thank you.

I only mentioned the pending shipment in case it's possible for the sidecart order to join this shipment rather than waiting for the next subscription shipment. Whatever you can do is fine ...

Hello,

This order was a backorder that moved to my sidecart to await being grouped with a subscription shipment. However, it appears to be in Limbo as it has missed two subscription shipments since it moved to the sidecart. Just a note, I have a non-subscription shipment pending.

Thank you for your help.

Charles

Moving the delayed books to a new order and shipping the remainder would be great. Thanks!

Hello,

My first e-mail to customer.service@paizo.com regarding Order # 1291101 was returned as undeliverable (?). A second e-mail has gone unanswered, so I am posting the e-mail here.

My order number 1291101 placed 14 January 2010 seems to have been delayed for quite some time past the initial expected ship date. When I placed the order, everything on it showed as being available. Can you tell me what has happened and when I may expect the order to ship?

Thank you,

Charles

I never understood why other gods wouldn't have thier own holy warrior.

I am a big fan of Green Ronin's Holy/Unholy Warrior classes, appearing in several of their 3.0 and 3.5 products. I believe Base classes should be flexible and support many concepts. Why shouldn't divine warriors be as varied as divine spell-casters, and the beings or forces they represent? The Paladin, in particular, has always been sadly type-cast by many into the heavily armored holy knight. My first D&D character (circa 1978) was a Paladin with an escaped gladiator back-story. He was lightly armed and armored, much to the apparent chagrin of his comrades ("Why can't you just fight with a long sword!?!")

GR's Holy/Unholy Warrior uses Holy/Unholy Warrior "Domains" to vary the Paladin's abilities. Importantly, one can also recreate the standard Paladin by selecting the right domains. I can't say every domain choice is equally balanced (I certainly haven't tried them all), but then the Cleric and other flexible classes face a similar issue.

If you use Firefox 3 and if you switched on Javascript, I can recommend you a Firefox extension which facilitates BBCodes tremendously: it is called bbccodeXtra and can install it on this site.

After installation you can format texts very easily:
1. mark any text you want to format,
2. right click the text,
3. choose the formating you would like (e.g. italic, bold, url creation from any copied internet address).

Another very similar extension is BBCode (link). And finally there is one extension supposed to contain even a graphical user interface: BBComposer (link). Didn't try these extensions yet, though.

The biggest advantage of all of these extensions is that they can be easily installed and deinstalled.

P.S.
Here are some samples of what can be done with these tools:
- Lists:

  • argument 1
  • argument 2
  • argument 3

- Sorted list:

  1. argument 1
  2. argument 2
  3. argument 3

- alphabetical list:

  1. argument 1
  2. argument 2
  3. argument 3

- Links (see above)
- bold text
- italic text...

Outstanding! Thank you very much!

The use of BBCode came up in Clark's thread on RPG Superstar 2009, and I have a few questions.

What causes the "BBCode tags you can use" Show/Hide button not to work? Or what is required to allow it to work? For example, I typically use Firefox 3 with Javascript enabled and Java disabled.

Is the BBCode revealed by the Show/Hide button and documented in Help all that is available on these boards?

If so, how would you recommend formatting columns of text (something which seems common where RPGs are concerned)? Tab doesn't seem to work. Spaces won't work without a fixed font. Entry appears to be fixed font but display is not.

Thank you very much for your help!

I also received Pathfinder #9 without my Pathfinder Chronicles Gazetteer. Order number 935448.

I have 24 orders on file, usually with multiple items per order, and this is my first shipping error. Thank you for all your work!

1) Do you plan to convert to the new edition of D&D?

2) If Paizo converts its RPG products to 4.0, how will that affect your purchasing patterns for our products?

3) If Paizo does not convert its RPG products to 4.0, how will that affect your purchasing patterns for our products?

1) I plan to continue playing 3.x, but I have opened the door to trying 4.0. In particular, if 4.0 succeeds in attracting new gamers to our hobby, that's great. I am concerned 4.0's price tag undermines that goal. For my personal games, 3.x/OGL currently appears to offer a superior toolset for running most any game I can conceive. 4.0 has a lot of ground to make up, and with a more restrictive GSL, it seems it will take fewer companies longer to make up that ground.

2) "The future is uncertain." If my current perception of 4.0 holds true, my purchases would probably be scaled back to specific, individual products. I would be very sad to end my subscriptions.

3) I would be inclined to support Paizo in any way I might do so. My subscriptions would continue, and I would add more should you be in a position to open more 3.x/OGL product lines.

J1 Entombed with the Pharaohs is an instant classic, with many threads which could be expanded upon.

I loved 1E, eventually succumbed to 2E, enthusiastically embraced 3E, and largely accepted 3.5E.

4E leaves me cold.

I have no plans to purchase 4E. As an until now D&D completist, this surprises me.

I ended my D&D purchases when Dragon and Dungeon ceased print publication. I might have resumed my D&D purchases with 4E, but that which impresses me to date is far, far outweighed by that which dumbfounds me.

4E is the D&D patch that broke my addiction. However, that does free up cash for the publisher that can tickle my gaming fancy. (Even beyond my Pathfinder and GameMastery subscriptions, which are, more or less, paid for with previous Dragon and Dungeon funds.)

I hope Paizo continues to support 3.x in 2008. By mid 2008, I hope Paizo will see a proven, ongoing 3.x market. Hopefully, Paizo will be able to feel confident about continuing to support 3.x and possibly, eventually, publish an OGL 3.x compatible Paizo core rulebook. I wouldn't rush the latter. Although it is tempting to hope for the perfect 3.x core rulebook, I suspect there will be plenty of 3.5 PHBs for the near future.

The door is open. Good luck and continued success in all that Paizo does!
