Actions: stand up, pick up weapon (interact), and hide (stealth). ![]() Yup, I missed my +3 to Strength somehow. Oops. I've never been asked to put my attack roll and damage roll on separate lines in my combat checks, but I'm happy to do so. You should probably let everyone else in the game know that you'd like that as well, as I see that Karando's recent attack has his attack and damage in the same line. And I don't see the 9 pts of damage reflected in any wolf in the initiative block. Also, we need some guidance from you on how to roll SECRET rolls. How would you like us to handle the rolls that specifically say...? 2e Core Rulebook wrote: At the end of your movement, the GM rolls your Stealth check in secret and compares the result to the Perception DC of each creature you were hidden from or undetected by at the start of your movement.(pg 252)

![]() One of the fire wolves stalks by Chalek's position and lights the wagon to his left on fire. Chalek uses his advantageous position to make the wolf sorry that he passed by the dwarf. If he survives. Action #1: Sneak (secret check by GM). Action #2: attack (I'm assuming that I'm hidden). Moving cautiously, Chalek positions himself so he can just see the wolf's hind quarters, trusting that he's gone unnoticed. His morningstar swings out silently. Attack vs Flat-Footed Character, Sneak Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 241d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + (5) = 11 I also apply the critical specialisation effect of my weapon - morningstar - to the creature. That effect would be 10 feet of forced movement directly away from my position. (I provided an arrow on the map). After sending the nearest wolf off yelping, Chalek surveys the gathering flames on the side of the wagon (#4) and directs his waterskin to soak them into submission. ![]() Group intimidation of these pathetic souls is not what is called for - distraction is. The tool needed for the job... Chalek's grim expression hasn't altered much since leaving Katapesh behind. He hasn't uttered another word. He remains stoic and taciturn, but at the nightly campfire, after the evening meal, he begins practicing long-jumping. Once he has the interest of a few of the goblins, he lays a finger on the side of his nose and points at the campfire. Chalek backs up a good 10-15 feet from the flames, then races forward, his feet leaving the ground as he propels his dwarven form over the fire. I'm estimating that Chalek will need to clear 20 feet, so that'd be a DC 20. Athletics Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 YES! The dwarf lands heavily, but on his feet on the other side of the fire. ![]() The dwarf shakes his head curtly at the offer from the maitre'd. He then clears his throat. "Climbing gear." The voice sings out, completely unsuited to the stout and muscular form. Much in the same way that a hill giant cannon-balling into a lake is, it is not subtle. Chalek coughs, the back of his hand scrubbing across his bearded face. He looks around. An auburn beard spreads out from his face in the fashion of a pyramid, doing little to dispel his mien. He nods upwards imperceptibly at the mug-hefter, lifting his eyebrows a touch as he exhales. "Chalek. Grimmerhamner." The high-pitched voice almost squeals out of the dwarf, stopping conversations dead in their tracks due to the incongruity. The dwarf swallows, his auburn beard fading into his auburn-ing complexion. "I'm with you." ![]() Hello, everyone! I'm Paul from New Zealand! I'm very much looking forward to getting a chance to play my character, Chalek, a bit more. I've filled out his profile - feel free to have a gander. GM, for your information: Player Name: Paul Trani
Right. Chalek is a professional bodyguard. He previously worked for the Aspis Consortium. He's open about that bit of his employment history, and strives to be as efficient and business-like about his work as possible. This comes across as aloof and flat sometimes, but he does have a bit of personality that he keeps tamped down. We'll see what comes out! |
