![]() Shadak:
"It could also be that we'll being facing some sort of flying blood sucking zombie. But the prospect is tempting... Maybe if it isn't too far off. Majest would probably love the idea." Carys seems to be talking to Shadak as she lopes next to him. Occasionally her head shakes or her hand points. Her voice however does not carry very far and they could be talking about anything. ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() Carys stretches some and starts to pack up her gear, checking and re-checking to make sure everything is in order. Once done she helps with the camp clean up and tries to offer words of encouragement to the others. Diplomacy:1d20 ⇒ 3 The yawning and half awake words, however, almost ring hollow as she too seems to be lagging from the lack of sleep last night. ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() Carys raises her hands as though to calm those around her. "We have yet to encounter any undead or cannibals.. so there is no need to worry about it. And we have no evidence that the creature will go after large groups and with someone keeping watch we should be able to ward it off. Worrying about things that may or may not be is a waste of energy." Biting her lip a bit she shrugs, "There is always the drained monkey.. if it hasn't gone bad yet. Anyone a decent chef? ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() "Well.. that depends on what you consider good news. On one hand we did not find any dangerous creatures. On the other hand we found evidence of a flying creature that apparently drains the blood from its victims." Carys smiles weakly and goes to drink some water. She looks up to the sky. "Shadak is fine.. he is continuing to scout the area. He felt I should tell everyone just in case the creature is still close by." ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() Rather than poking at the dead monkey and perhaps startling whatever may have done this, Carys tries to discover more details about the monkey. Is it strewn over a branch, was it tied to the tree or does it seem to have been drained where it was found? She also tries to look for where the blood might have been drained from. Hopefully these answers might shed more light on what type of predator they are dealing with. Perception:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() Carys looks up with one eye at the towering Shadak and then nods. She adjusts a dagger in her boot before standing up and nodding. "Of course." The sickle attached to her bag is now strapped to her back and a spear is hefted in her hand. "After you big guy," she offers with a smile. ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() "Let's try to get ourselves out of danger before we go looking for more... please." Carys chuckles softly and shakes her head. "We're making good progress. Hopefully there we can find some sort of civilization that isn't looking to kill us. Then there is still the mystery of how we came to be shipwrecked. I for one would like to get some answers." ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() After enjoying the food and water, Carys lays down to try and grab some much needed rest. Despite her best efforts the conversation keeps her from really falling asleep. "The last thing we need is someone getting poisoned. It will be hard enough without having to carry dead weight." Following Kabur's gaze she shields her eyes from the sun and mumbles something about a wide brim hat. "Maybe we can come back later.. when we are safe. I doubt they are going anywhere." ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() Carys tries to help around the camp when she wakes. She stops by some of the more shaken individuals, offering words of support if they need it. Calming Touch if applicable. "Let me know what I can carry. I agree that we should try to conserve what we have. Those horses might come in handy later." Her own gear is checked twice and prepared for travel as she munches down on some food, washing it down with a healthy dose of water. "Following the coast until we meet that road might be the best bet. Like Kabur said we can always make the decision about how to consider based on what it looks like... and how we are doing." ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() Bow and arrow are readied when it appears something odd is occurring. Carys tries to focus her eyes to get a better look at whatever it is that's glowing. She moves slightly closer to help, but remains close enough to alert the camp if something should happen. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25. ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() Seems solid enough to me. So we can improve the morale of the other NPCs, Aerys and Gelik, yes? Getting those two will hopefully gives us an entertainer and another defender/guard? Carys can also help with water, food and possibly medic stuff if need be. Can PCs also fill the roles as well to add bonuses? ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() Carys chuckles and shakes her head. "Combat is not exactly my specialty if you haven't noticed. It is only recently that I have had to start taking matters into my own hands." As she is speaking she tries to make her way towards Gelik. "I was thinking more along the lines of hunting or making camp." She shrugs and tries to put a hand on Gelik's shoulder (Calming Touch if applicable). "So long as we stick together there isn't anything we can't do. Besides this is how legendary stories begin right? Imagine the tales that will come out of this." ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() Carys eyes Ilarian quizzically, "Do you know something we don't? An impending attack perhaps?" She moves around toward the dwarf and gnome, obviously curious about the log book. "I agree with moving on. But water should not be too much of an issue. I am more concerned about how and why we ended up here." ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() Carys flashes a smile and then nods. "I have learned a thing or two. Between Shadak and myself we should be fine." With a quick check of her weapons she moves to catch up to the half-orc. "Please tell me you at least have experience that lies outside the realm of ships and whimsy," she half whispers under her breath as she starts to look for anything useful. ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() "Is it truly all rainbows and sunshine in your world? Everyone above suspicion, everyone your friend? Until we have more information it would be dangerous to assume anything about our predicament. Good or bad." The sarcasm dripping from Carys' words might as well be acid. She looks at the horses and then those staying to set up camp, seemingly torn between which group she trusts less. She shakes her head, "Survival is more than food and shelter, but as I do have some experience in that area, I will stay to help set up camp." Carys sets her gear aside and starts to assess their surroundings more. If arrogance were art she would be a masterpiece. Survival 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21. ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() Carys gives the manacled man a wary look as he tells his story and does not seem moved one way or the other. Sense Motive 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25. When they remove the restraints she shrugs. "Sounds like we have a plan." With her gear stowed and ready she moves towards the half-orc who spotted the wreckage. "Any thoughts on why you were spared? You're the only one of the crew that ended up here." ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() Carys closes up her pack and gets her gear stowed in case they have to make a quick exit. She eyes the man in chains and shakes her head. "We could always ask," she suggests. "It is possible the crew was not involved.. whoever took over the ship could have forced them to do this. There could be clues from what we had seen and heard while aboard." ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() A weak chuckle escapes Carys and she starts to rub the temples of her head [Calming Touch]. "Any chance this place is located on your map?" With a sigh of relief she sits down and starts to go through her pack, inventorying and setting aside the items that might have been ruined by the seawater. ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() Carys makes a choking sound and almost falls out of her chair. As she catches herself, there are tears in her eyes and she is laughing. Oh this is going to be fun. She wipes the tears from her eyes, "Now that we have clarified that point.. hopefully you will still join us Gelik." Another small chuckle escapes her lips. ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() Carys lets out a whistle. "That's quite a long time. If you would be willing... I am currently in the market for something worthwhile to invest my time toward." She smiles, "Maybe Gelik here would like to join.. surely there will be some interesting stories along the way." The woman shifts, leaning back while she holds onto the chair, apparently stretching. She takes the time to survey the room again. ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() Carys leans in, listening intently to the female Gnome. "I am sorry about your parents." When the map is brought out she leans in even closer to take a better look. As she takes note of the locations on the map and what Majest says she gets an idea. "Do you really plan on going it alone? How long did it take your mother and father to make this much of the map?" ![]()
Female Human Inquisitor/1
![]() There is a small frown from the woman, "I'm afraid that I have no tales that would compare to the ones you have. I have certainly not been invited to any banquets or been courted by queens." Carys shifts slightly and looks around the room. "Perhaps there are others here who would like to share. We definitely have a very eclectic group. How about you?" She indicates with a nod toward Sasha while tapping a pinky against her arm.
